“Screw The Next Generation” Anonymous Congressman Admits To “Blithely Mortgaging The Future With A Wink & A Nod”

Tyler Durden's picture

A shockingly frank new book from an anonymous Democratic congressman turns yet another set of conspiracy theories into conspiracy facts as he spills the beans on the ugly reality behind the scenes in Washington. While little will surprise any regular readers, the selected quotes offered by “The Confessions Of Congressman X” book cover sheet read like they were ripped from the script of House of Cards… and yet are oh so believable…

A devastating inside look at the dark side of Congress as revealed by one of its own! No wonder Congressman X wants to remain anonymous for fear of retribution. His admissions are deeply disturbing…

“Most of my colleagues are dishonest career politicians who revel in the power and special-interest money that’s lavished upon them.”

“My main job is to keep my job, to get reelected. It takes precedence over everything.”

“Fundraising is so time consuming I seldom read any bills I vote on. Like many of my colleagues, I don’t know how the legislation will be implemented, or what it’ll cost.”

The book also takes shots at voters as disconnected idiots who let Congress abuse its power through sheer incompetence…

Voters are incredibly ignorant and know little about our form of government and how it works.”

“It’s far easier than you think to manipulate a nation of naive, self-absorbed sheep who crave instant gratification.”

And, as The Daily Mail so elqouently notes, the take-away message is one of resigned depression about how Congress sacrifices America’s future on the altar of its collective ego…

“We spend money we don’t have and blithely mortgage the future with a wink and a nod. Screw the next generation.”

“It’s about getting credit now, lookin’ good for the upcoming election.”

Simply put, it’s everything that is enraging Americans about their government’s dysfunction and why Trump is getting so much attention.

No real surprise. It is nice to see a confession though. Term limits, yea right. Like asking a hooker for a freebie.

I call bullshit, this must be made up.

Our congressmen are the finest of us all, proud patriots who sacrifice their personal interests for the unselfish interests of their beloved country and it’s citizens they hold so dear.

I think there’s no higher calling in terms of a career than public service, which is a chance to make a difference in all people’s lives and improve the world along the way.

OK, got to go take a massive dump now, stomach is a bit sour.

The leftists like to talk about things like :\”sustainability” but never seem to want to apply the concept to our social system, our culture and our economic and financial systems.

In fact, they seem to want to do the opposite for those.

Maybe deliberately because they want them -and the United States- to fail or maybe out of ignorance, but probably some combination of both at varying levels of their leadership.

It doesn’t matter if written by a real CONgresscritter, or not to me.

It sounds pretty truthful, and just maybe it can serve to open more minds.

The ruling elite use this type fiction against us in thousands of ways, nearly every second of every day.

Turnabout is fair play.

The truth and reality is probably much worse.

The left is so good at worrying about the next generation as far as global warming goes, where they can’t quite see the direct impact on them of the things they call for as that would call for logical and mathematical ability. But when it comes to restraining government spending and reducing the freebies they get, the next generation can look out for themselves.

I know for certain I’ve heard these two quotes before….years ago. I believe it was on one of those 60Minutes type teevee shows where a “reporter” follows one or more congresscritters around for some period of time to see what their daily life is like. Maybe a decade ago. I recall being surprised that they were actually airing that kind of thing.
