We hear a lot of nitwits out there who are ‘scared’ of a Trump presidency. As an intelligent reader of TBP, what worries you?

Thats what scares me the most about all this. The “trump is literally hitler” should fall on deaf ears to anyone with two brain cells to rub together. But to me, the prospect of him filling his admin with garden variety republicans and neocon retreads from the Bush II regime is disconcerting, to say the least.

I know what a lot of people will say, he is just trying to ensure congressional support for his agenda and needs to reach out to these types of people, and I hope you are right. But if people wanted mitt romney calling any shots, they’d have put him in the white house 4 years ago. And if people wanted people like john bolton running things, mccain would have won in 08. Stay away from these people, trump.

I agree with you.We have an unwritten rule in this country where we do not go after ex Presidents & their families. If it were only about the Clinton Foundation I’d say drop it,frustrating as it would be.
However,I believe that Hillary committed treason & her email server not only allowed foreign intelligence agencies to access some of our top intel,it also almost certainly got foreign agents killed.
It will be interesting to see what Mr Obama does regarding Hillary. At a dinner/speech this week Jesse Jackson stated that Obama should pardon Hillary.Let’s hope that he does not.

I’m all for dragging Hillary through hell with a trial and conviction for mishandling classified information, then having TRUMP pardon her as a humanitarian gesture for her age and ill health.
THEN put her through another hell trying her for charitable fraud and official malfeasance for the Clinton Foundation / CGI shit. Get Bill and Chelsea on board for that one too, if they are guilty of anything.
THEN do NOT pardon her for that corruption, on the basis she is a “repeat offender”!

My worries:

1) Trump gets co-opted by the GOPe, over and above what he might need to do to get his agenda passed.

2) Soros backed whackadoodles (SBWs) provoke a backlash and we end up in a hot Civil War.

3) The inaguration becomes a total circus of the SBWs and ends in chaos.

4) The mask falls off the fakey economic data and the economy crashes.

We have witnessed a non-violent political revolution by the people. Probably the most significant political event in my 63 years. Trump beat the Democrat machine, the Republican machine and the media machine. He beat all challengers and he killed political correctness, at least for now.

The Democrat Party will be the minority party for a long time if it survives. The Republican Party has very little base. It is now the Trump base and Trump is anything but an establishment Republican. He means to get things done. Take care of business shall we say. As long as Trump stays on course and does not join the Republican fraternity he remains the 800lb gorilla in the beltway. Republicans in Congress do not know what it is to take care of business. They are fixin to find out. If they don’t play ball then they are signing their own eviction notice come next election. As for several Senate Democrats, they thought they were from a blue state. Turns out they are now from a red state. They play ball or the folks back home rip them a new one.

Bottom line, if Trump stays on message and does not allow himself to be neutralized and if the voters keep the heat on Congress we just might avoid the biggest fall since the Roman Empire. All without any major violence, at least thus far. I have to admit, even while being an early Trump supporter, I just didn’t think it was possible. I think God heard a lot of prayers and we got a little divine intervention. The Founding Fathers could probably identify with that pretty well.

Now we all must work to keep the Republic and not fall into a multi-decade slumber ever again.
The 20 trillion in debt I see no avoiding. We are looking at a national bankruptcy but so is everyone else in the world so maybe Trump figures that out without us all going to debtor prison. We owe it to the kids to deal with the issue on our watch. The buck stops here and NOW in other words. I have never been this optimistic since being a brain dead zombie about 15 years back. Yep, 9-11 was my wake-up call. That whole story is at least ten cents short of a dollar. We will save it for another day.

What scares me most about the recent election is that so many people still don’t see the outright propaganda. The MSM has slapped America across the face with their dicks and far too many people are cool with it.

What scares me by an order of magnitude over all else is that the radiation that has spewed out of the three melted down reactors in Fukushima, Japan for more than five years now will eventually end life as we know it.

November 17, 2016 8:38 pm

Meso, Pretty sure you’re smarter than I, but if all that angst over radiation were well-founded, how’s come the Japanese don’t have two heads, three arms and tumors the size of cantaloupes since 1945?
How’s come they don’t now, since Fukushima?
Thyroid issues? Yeah, but- how many midgets are now 5 years old in Japan, or 30 in Ukraine? We won’t breach the issue of mental midgets, just now, that’s another topic altogether.

Mike, I ain’t forgot you- My biggest fear is that we seem to fear every-Goddam-thing. We’ve forgotten how to think for ourselves. We place way too much of our faith in ‘leaders’ and have eschewed faith in each other, and ourselves, in favor of some mythical Utopia promised- but never quite delivered, by the hive.
We’re not bees. Why do we want to act like them?

If a triple meltdown is no big deal then why do nuclear steam generators bother with all that costly safety nonsense at all?

As far as smartness, I’m only smart enough to understand that there is no such thing as a safe dose of radiation. I live in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and so I have monitored the situation closely since March 11th, 2011. Trust me it isn’t good and if you are waiting for the MSM to talk about it well…

I wish I had more time to include links to videos by people like Helen Caldicott and articles about Fukushima mutations (there are plenty and it is getting worse). It is an issue that I believe is largely ignored because there is no known technology that can stop the meltdowns or shield the planet from the effects. I considered writing an essay on the subject but I don’t like to gripe about problems unless I can offer what I consider to be a valid solution.

So for now all I can do is take boron and iodine supplements and avoid any foods that could be contaminated. Sucks because I really like a beer from Japan called Koshihikari (SP?) The dogs take the supplements too (No Japanese beer either).

You are aware of radioactive decay right? Well, all that radioactive material in the ground has a half life. When we evolved the world was much more radioactive than it is now, so I think you’ll be okay. Besides, I have yet to see any evidence that this release is going to drive up exposure levels outside of the local area of the disaster. Survey meters are very common, and I’m sure ordinary people are checking the West Coast daily. If they find any increase in background you’ll hear about it, because of the internet.

P.S. If there is no safe dose of radiation then you might want to tell that to all those cancer patients receiving radiation therapy. You might also want to do some research on the theory of radiation Hormesis

P.S.S Radiation isn’t an invisible menace…..well actually it is, but they do make meters. If you had a survey meter you could simply survey your beer, and if it’s at background it’s safe.

http://www.seintl.com/radiation_detectors/digital_radiation_detectors.html

It’s not like a massive radioactive accident is something you can hide from a meter. If you want you can buy an active dosimeter and wear it on your clothing, for a real time monitoring environment.

http://www.landauer.com/Dosimeters.aspx

P.S.S.S Don’t ever do any research about how much exposure you receive from air travel. It will probably give you a case of the sad, because you live on an island.

Radioactive decay? You mean like how it only takes one ingested particle of plutonium 239 to kill me right now but in 24,000 years it will take two particles to kill me? 48,000 years from now it will take a whopping four particles to kill me so I guess I am worrying about nothing.

“When we evolved the world was much more radioactive than it is now, so I think you’ll be okay.”
Are you serious? Many of the radioactive elements spewing out of the facility were created by the meltdown! They do not exist in nature. Our bodies have barely had five years to adapt.

“Besides, I have yet to see any evidence that this release is going to drive up exposure levels outside of the local area of the disaster. Survey meters are very common, and I’m sure ordinary people are checking the West Coast daily. If they find any increase in background you’ll hear about it, because of the internet.”
Tell that to the sailors on the USS Ronald Reagan.
https://www.rt.com/usa/uss-reagan-fukushima-radiation-979/
Not to mention that the US shut the monitoring system off immediately following the meltdowns and Japan increased their allowable amount of radiation in food.

“P.S. If there is no safe dose of radiation then you might want to tell that to all those cancer patients receiving radiation therapy. You might also want to do some research on the theory of radiation Hormesis”
I would but I don’t know anyone that has survived chemo. Seriously go fuck yourself for reminding me how many of my friends and family have been killed by chemotherapy.
I know what a dosimeter is. In fact I have had one since March 2011. I watched the levels double and almost triple in the months after the meltdowns. So should I believe you, the internet or my dosimeter when it comes to radiation levels?

“P.S.S.S Don’t ever do any research about how much exposure you receive from air travel. It will probably give you a case of the sad, because you live on an island.”
It looks like you took your own advice and didn’t do any research on radiation from air travel. Different types of radiation effect us differently and it is disingenuous to compare a short dose of x-ray radiation or a polar flight to eating a wall eyed salmon that spent a portion of it’s life eating cesium-137 laced meals off the coast of Fukushima.

I’ve wasted enough time on this.

There are only four types of ionizing radiation, no matter what exotic elements were created in the reactor. Those are alpha Beta Gamma and neutron, and they aren’t new.

My wife has – got breast cancer in 2009 and went through surgery, radiation, and chemo. Takes drugs now to reduce the risk of recurrence, although after seven years she is officially “cured” and any cancer that shows up will be regarded as a new illness.
It was bitchin’ hard on her and the support network (read “family”), but I’d rather have her here than gone. To all you cancer patients out there, best of luck. And early detection is a must – hers was stage 2 / 3 when it was found, and it cost her more tissues removed as a result. Mammograms! Colonoscopies! Get it done!

Trump will be 1000 times better than Hillary by default. My primary concern revolves around Supreme Court Justice picks. We can’t afford to have another middle of the road failure like John Roberts sitting on the bench siding with the Judicial activists to legalize liberal insanity. The picks need to be pro constitution, pro life, pro gun, and young so that the court remains conservative for the next 40 years.

Why do people think Trump wants a Military “buildup”? He seems to want to restore it to what it should be, not build it up to more than it already is.

Hillary was the one advocating military use, in specific against Russia, Trump was and is the one against it.

Rebuilding our military from the condition Obama is leaving it in is essential, and I’m hoping he will do that by making Europe pay the full share of its defense costs instead of us paying 2/3 of it for them so they can afford the cost of their socialist programs.

What worries me is if trump sticks with the rhetoric that cost him the popular vote…it’s 2016 and we as
A nation should have been long past racial, sexual and religious freedom. Every man woman and child of every race religion and sexual orientation just wants to be left the fuck alone and have a fair shake at life. If you come out and shit on large groups of people you can be assured you will make enemies. We have enough fucking external enemies and we should all realize that. So if we are going to “drain the swamp” let’s drain the fucking thing and hit the reset on all this shit. Seriously FREEDOM AND SAFTETY is what everyone wants, those who don’t have lost everything and are vengeful or just want power, glory and control at all expense.

Love them or hate them millennials are the future of our nation and trump needs them on his team and so does the country if we want ANY SHOT of coming up on the plus side of the upcoming global economic meltdown/people’s revolution. We will also need blacks, muslims, women, gays etc

If you strip trumps controversial statements away he probably would have got 90% of the vote. That’s a unified free country not tearing itself apart ober who should get freedom and equality and who shouldn’t.

Everyone on both sides needs to come to terms that we are one nation with a lot of fucking enemies around the world. We need to start talking and stop the school yard bullshit.

The biggest Trump supporter has to admit he went pretty far out there at times with some radical anti-American behavior. I still want a president that acts presidential and gets the people behind him. The job is hard and no one has ever been perfect at it. It was his rhetoric that has scared people and divided us as a nation and it is his appointees and their similar rhetoric that continues to worry everyone.

You want a future in this country you better start sucking up to millennials cause those jobs that were lost are either filled with an immigrant or a computer. Kick the immigrants out and your left with computers and none of you TBP asshats give a single shit about technology so you will FUCKING starve. In the modern economy… that’s if we have one

Hey Seth! “Every man woman and child of every race religion and sexual orientation just wants to be left the fuck alone and have a fair shake at life.”

That is the crux of the problem. Every man and woman, etc., does NOT want to be left alone and have a fair shake at life. Conservatives, libertarians and anarchists want to be left alone, but liberals, progressives and socialists want just the opposite. Every person who says “there ought to be a law!” is supporting the idea that instead of people being left alone, “people need to do what I think is good, or we will send men with guns to kidnap or arrest them”. That is what laws are, and that is why laws need to only be used in situations where one person is actually, demonstrably, and actively harming another person. Note the use of the word “actively”. If I choose to use a different pronoun for you than you prefer, I may (or may not) be a jerk, but I have not actively harmed you. Someone who chooses not to go out on a date with you has not harmed you. Someone who uses “wrong” pronouns has not harmed you. Someone who decides not to bake a cake for you has not harmed you. Laws about such matters mean that instead of being left alone, I am being killed or kidnapped because I did not run my life the way you wanted me to.

Here is the most basic expression of this. I own myself, I own my own life, I own my ethically procured property, I choose my own actions, and yes, my freedom to swing my arm ends where your nose begins. You are the world’s foremost expert on how you should live your own life. I am the world’s expert on MY life. I don’t want some SJW using the power of the state to restrict what I say, where I live, whom I hire, to whom I sell, or who I choose to associate with. My life, my decisions, not some SJW with political connections.

What worries me is the end of the Monroe Doctrine and the Roosevelt Corollary . Building a wall to isolate America from the south is tantamount to inviting the Ruskies and the Chinks to move in on Latin America. The US inspired Simon Bolivar to push for democracy in the southern hemisphere. Today, we are telling El Libertador that Latin America is on its own. America is tired, it will now commence with bread and circus acts while awaiting delirium and a death rattle.

Just as Russia removed all impediment to German reunification, America will remove all barriers to foreign meddling in Latin America. We owe, we owe, so off the south we go. Southern Command is soon folded, NATO is next to be folded. Duterte – the mouse that roared – has spoken; SEATO will fold. Look, we’ve acquiesced to Russian influence in Cuba. Iran and China will be moving into Mexico and farther south.

Because, the wall. We shall be hermetically sealed off from Latin America while we pretend that the world is pure white and it’s 1955 all over again. Damn, it’s like in that movie where we will be ‘Trading Places’ with Cuba. We will even impose an embargo on ourselves, forcing us to make do without foreign goods for over half a century. That’ll teach us.

Who knew that America, the repentant whore, would seek to purify itself with self-denial?

“Building a wall to isolate America from the south”

Sorry, El Coyote, but you started your rant with a 100% straw man assertion. A wall (or a fence, or electronic sensors, or whatever) on the border does not isolate America. Do you have a lock on your door at home? Yes? Well, I guess you are a house-bound hermit and never communicate with anyone, have any visitors, or go outside.

According to your own “logic” if you have a lock on your front door, you are isolated. Just a heads up here… Someone (it can’t be YOU because you are “isolated”) must be posting comments with your name on them.

“Every man woman and child of every race religion and sexual orientation just wants to be left the fuck alone and have a fair shake at life.” ———- Seth Fox

That’s simply not true, except in an idealistic scenario. FACT is that far too many people aren’t satisfied with being “left the fuck alone” but, rather, are hell-bent on telling OTHERS HOW TO LIVE THEIR FUCKING LIVES. (See Hillary voters.)

This isn’t China during their building The Great Wall.

Today we have airplanes, ships, telephones, internet, etc. etc. No one is being “hermetically sealed off”. That’s not even possible. You’re just trying to be cute.

BTW, what the hell does “America, the repentant whore” mean? You’re not anti-Murikan, are you?

Stuck, at least you understand hyperbole, I totally lost Jason. He should have recognized it when he read the word ‘hermetically’.

Look, Jason, I did not grab my figurative skirt and start ‘worrying’ about petty politics, I strapped on some nads and tackled the bigger question – whether America would turn inwards to indulge in navel-gazing and nostalgia.

That is my answer to the question. I apologize that I colorized the comment and confused your literal minded mentality. Are you an accountant?

Accountant? No! In fact, I have been specifically called “of no account” many times.

My apologies for missing your hyperbole. My only excuse is that I am doing some serious multitasking and juggling; I must have dropped the proverbial ball.

Please carry on, El Coyote!

Stuck, the image I had in mind was the one in ‘Moby Dick’ where the old bull whale leaves the pack and spends his remaining years repenting of his sins. I had the same in mind when I described Lady Liberty insulating herself from the world and repenting of her sins. I should have explained. Hypocrite that I am, I demanded that Unconfused give some background and then I fail miserably at my own game. Shit.

Blasted through ya head, blasted through ya head

So serene on the screen, he was mesmerized
Cellular phones soundin’ a death tone

So what’s the plan then guys ?

– Alienate 80% of the country who has moved on from hate speech racism and bigotry by distracting them with more of it ? Why ? What is the benefit ?

-build an uneccessary wall with a non violent long time trading partner that poses zero military threat. Great way to piss away money..something we do better than anyone.

– invest a stupid amount of more money deporting undocumented workers from farms and factories so we can starve to death while expecting millennials to do those jobs … lmfao

-dismantle our existing government “drain the swamp” and replace with more fucktards. Trump has shown no signs of this NOT happening and EVERY sign he will be bought paid for and puppeted like all the rest.

– tell China Europe and Russia to suck it along with the rest of the world. Cause, you know, America doesn’t need anyone for anything for we are star spangled awesome in every way.

– put huge tariffs on shipments from China and Mexico …again so we can bring back jobs no one wants and we exported long ago. All while the U$D soars higher making US exports completely unattractive and Imports unrealistically expensive while Unemployement skyrockets.

– bomb the fuck out of the Middle East and kill muslims at mass. Yay more genocide and more refugees. I can’t imagine any blowback from that !!! I mean we need that oil and we need to protect ourselves from armed forces with No Navy, or Airforce, or country.

– cut all aid to everyone everywhere causing global unrest and making even more enemies and destroying more economies.

– increase “rebuild” our military. How is the US Military the greatest killing machine ever assembled on Earth yet somehow also bad enough that it needs to be rebuilt ?

– ignore alternative energy, and drill and frack all over the USA clinging to legacy energy systems while the world (our enemies) move forward and we wage war and citizens lives to protect it.

What could go wrong ? Sounds like fucking utopia.

The American Empire is toast because the American way and dream are toast. Who the fuck are we anymore ?

China will be the economic super power in the next 12-15 years. Our Country is divided and it appears the Trump side would rather focus on a civil war, a global war and total economic collapse. If not his actions rhetoric and cabinet all point that way.

For the record I’m a 48 year old white male, no kids, founder, CEO, investor and hedge fund manager.

China will be the economic superpower if and only if they look inwards to improvement, starting with their bloated centrist government that wastes funding on a level that gives HRC money-boners.

Trump has inherited a nation during a Fourth Turning. The problems run deeper than he can possibly address without a good deal of humility.

While we are fucked in the short term, his election gave me hope, because another 8 years of HRC rule would have been more of the same, and I am very tired of the same. If something is to happen, let it happen and let us be done with it.

I have shit to do.

Your statistics are bad. 80% of the country has not “moved on from hate speech racism and bigotry”. Rap music is full of racism and sexism and bigotry; Hollywood is full of it, although the recipients are white people instead of black ones. We hear endless hate speech against straight white males, who are held to be the source of all ills, all evil and all failures to attain a “just society”. Anti-Trump rioters are screaming it in the streets of the big cities; several of those cities are declaring their intent to remain “sanctuary cities”, therefore promoting the end of the “rule of law” in America (already a weak assumption). If it’s OK to riot and destroy businesses, is it OK to shoot down the rioters in the streets when they threaten YOUR business?
Due to your initial failure to understand, I will leave the rest of your assertions to others to analyze. Your accomplishments to date (last paragraph) still have not gained you wisdom.

Rappers & Hollywood don’t create laws, make policy, collect taxes or send people to war. They are 1000 steps removed from the process. Music, Hollywood and sports are DOMINATED by whites who retain the lion share of those industries profits. They have influence but not legislative power, don’t like the movie or music or sport…turn it off…zero consequences.

If People are looting stores and rioting …everyone, including biz owners, have a right to protect themselves and their property.

My comments about myself were not to gain credibility but to correct people assuming I was a clueless millennial in previous comments. Its also to say that I’m not worried about being shot by cops, or deported, or put in a camp, or forced to register my religious beliefs or to be illegally searched & detained without cause. I don’t think most of those things will happen. But I know those are the perceptions that the rhetoric has created, that generate the fears and to them they are very real. Thus Freedom & Safety.

Im not supporting protesters or Hillary (fuck her), but to not try and gain the trust of the citizens and make them focus on common goals due to Rhetoric seems like a very poor leadership decision. Millennials are our nations future like or not, they need guidance and leadership not more opinions and condemning. They didn’t put us in this mess, we put ourselves here and they will be forced to deal with the consequences of our actions as we are dealing with the consequences of our previous leaders actions today.

My original point was that if Trump and team dropped the “scary” rhetoric and people FELT free & safe, they would most likely have voted for him and be willing to grant him support today. If we don’t stop shitting on millennials and minorities and stop blaming everyone but ourselves for our problems we will just sink deeper into a hole.

Look, Seth, your new and haven’t had your cherry popped. Maybe you’ll leave soon and preserve your innocence.

But if you hang around long enough, you will come to see the light. TBPers know all and see all. In time they will peel of the scales from your eyes like onion skins. Because there are so many things to learn that you cannot imagine.

Thanks for explaining the Moby Dick reference. Makes sense now.

Hey …. HBO this month is playing Ron Howard’s movie “In the heart of the sea” …. the actual true story on which MD is based. I loved it, great historical photography … even though the scenes where whales were being butchered were hard to watch. Only got 50% on rottentomatoes, not that that’s a great indicator of anything.

Anyway ……. I ALWAYS CHEER FOR THE WHORE WHALE!!!!
