Trump Defends “Killer” Putin On National TV: “We’ve Got A Lot Of Killers – You Think Our Country’s So Innocent?”

In a Fox News interview set to air at 4pm on Sunday, just ahead of the Superbowl, and which is sure to unleash a fresh firestorm of accusations that president Trump is a Kremlin puppet, the US president will defend Vladimir Putin on national TV, saying he respects the Russian leader and accusing the US of not being as innocent as it may seem.

In the interview, Bill O’Reilly asked if Trump respects Russian President Vladimir Putin, to which the he replied, “I do respect him. Well, I respect a lot of people, but that doesn’t mean I’ll get along with them.”

After O’Reilly asks why, Trump answers: “He is the leader of his country. I say it’s better to get along with Russia than not, and if Russia helps us in the fight against ISIS – which is a major fight – and the Islamic terrorism all over the world, that’s a good thing. Will I get along with him? I have no idea.”

O’Reilly pressed Trump on his statement, saying, “But he’s a killer though. Putin’s a killer.”

Trump shrugged the comment off, saying: “There are a lot of killers. We’ve got a lot of killers. What, do you think our country is so innocent?”

As RT reminds us, it is not the first time that Trump has made such comments when journalists question his stance regarding the Russian leader. At the end of 2015, the host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe told Trump that Putin “kills journalists,” to which the unfazed then-presidential candidate replied, “I think that our country does plenty of killing, too, Joe.”

“I’ve always felt fine about Putin. He’s a strong leader. He’s a powerful leader,” Trump added.

At the end of January, Putin and Trump held their first official phone call, which, according to the Kremlin, was “good and constructive.” “Over the past years, the lack of mutual respect became the main reason for the deterioration of relations,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov added. Another important thing is that Washington is prepared for dialogue, the spokesman concluded.

“This is what President Putin called for rather consistently but where unfortunately he did not see reciprocity over the past years,” Peskov said.

Earlier in January, however, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized that the first meeting between Putin and Trump may “happen in months to come,” not “in a matter of weeks.” Peskov also said, “it is maybe the biggest mistake on the part of Western analysts to think that Trump is ‘our man.’ He is an American man.”

Michael Hastings. Breitbart. Scalia. Why should Americans think our Deep State limits its killing to other countries?

You betcha! What other country conducts drone strikes on civilians during wedding ceremonies in far away lands? Or invades other countries on false pretenses? Or bombs other countries into oblivion and then leave it in ruins? Or assassinate foreign leaders, even democratically elected ones? Or help brutal dictators, friendly to U.S. interests and propped up by U.S. intelligence agencies, leave their country and not force them to go back to face their crimes against their own people? What other country has a former Secretary of State say that the deaths of hundreds of thousands of children was worth it? What other country has one former President joke about weapons of mass destruction at a White House press dinner (Bush looking under his podium pretending they may be there and the press yucking it up) and another former President, when asked about his daughters boyfriends, laugh and say he had two words for them. “Drone strikes.” And the press once again yucks it up? Finally, what other country has an acting Secretary of State watch the live killing of an Ambassador and Military members and not only lets it happen, but orders others not to try and help, then lie about it (even telling that lie to the mother of one of the men who died while leaning over his casket), then when the lie is found out tell members of Congress (with the word “Honorable” proceeding her name),”what difference does it make, really?”

O’Reilly is a hypocritical, warmongering, neocon, straw man apologist, journalistic embarrassment, hack. He should take off his USA Number 1 foam finger and stop treating war like another sporting event, and the USA Oligarchs as a pillar of integrity.

Rojam, we in Germany were told in the last 8 years, your words are antiamerican propaganda and conspiracy theories. And racist of course, because Obama was the first black president. Some days ago I was told there were no wars in the time of Obama. He did end them.
But now, it´s a crime against humanity if some people have to wait 90 days for their next trip to the United States. Our leaders and massmedia are completely confused.

While I don’t and won’t always agree with what President Trump does and I don’t and won’t always agree with what President Putin does, it appears that the grown-ups are back in charge. Conversation and negotiation are much more desirable to me than warfare.
I can only pray that the electorates in other countries, Germany, France, the Scandinavian countries and on and on, will watch and learn.

“Killer” Putin has started zero wars during his reign. No American President can match that, except William Henry Harrison, who died a month after his inauguration.
O’Reilly has become one of the most embarrassing people on Fox.

All you have to do is list all the wars America has been a part of and them compare/contrast that list with

EVERY OTHER COUNTRY ON THE PLANET

and you will see who thinks they are god on earth.

Yes. I think diplomacy and statesmanship is very important between nuclear powers, particularly when they have conflicts in their policies. One of the major criticisms on here of Obama and Hillary was that their policy of incompetent brinkmanship and war-mongering risked a fight with Russia. Literally look up almost any article on Syria or the Ukraine and read the comments. Nobody wanted to glow in the dark. Next poorly thought out rhetorical question, dumbass?

O’Really is also a killer. Killed far more than Putin. At last count about 24,354 people died of boredom watching his shit show, and over 1 million have died laughing to death at the stupid shit he says.

If or when TSHTF he needs to be at the top of the list of those getting a double tap.

Great comments!
In my youth it was said there was a flaw in the German psyche that caused them to be more war-like than others. In his amazing book “The Unnecessary War” Pat Buchanan asks: Count the wars Germany and Prussia have been involved in and compare those to the ones the U.S. and England have and see who has the war predilection. No contest.

what’s really sad is that the average American has no real desire for war – he has to be misled into it.
You could argue that the Krauts and the Frenchies have it in for each other; over several centuries, they have fought each other multiple times, for various reasons ranging from the religious to the imperialistic to the ideological to the simply irritable. Yet the average Kraut will happily drink French wine, and the average Frenchie will happily drive a Kraut car. Hatred is no more built in to their psyches (despite centuries of occasional wars) than to hate anyone else.
Americans have fought their neighbors (Canadians and Mexicans) a few times too, but we don’t hate Canadians or Mexicans any more than we hate Italians; it just isn’t there. But there are those who desire power and control and money more than peace, and they run for office, all too often successfully, and they lead us into wars to perpetuate their money and power.
Why do we elect these people?
