QUOTE OF THE DAY

“When people can vote on issues involving the transfer of wealth to themselves from others, the ballot box becomes a weapon with which the majority plunders the minority. That is the point of no return, the point where the doomsday mechanism begins to accelerate until the system self-destructs. The plundered grow weary of carrying the load and eventually join the plunderers. The productive base of the economy diminishes further until only the state remains.”

G. Edward Griffin

Well no shit ! Many out here in fucked over land have been screaming stop we aren’t able to carry the load , you and your enforcers take too much . Now our means to produce has been stripped away along with our desire to do . The wealthy extreme and the extremely poor have together overplayed their hand . The producers that built the machines that kept the lights on have been reduced to indentured servants and no longer recieve enough return to survive their servitude . The will of the productive class in America has not been broken only transformed to a hateful resolve ! Like the mule that won’t be whipped into pulling too heavy a load they just lay down ! You in a comfortable position plundered from us should fear us now , we are about to get up !

A very astute thought. I saw it in action 1st hand this past election when my wife, who has spent her entire life on the conservative side of politics announced to me that she was going to vote for Clinton because she thought Hillary would hand out more goodies. That stunned me. Her rational was that the federal government was obviously a free-for-all of corruption and theft by the 1% so why not she, we, grab our what we can? I had no argument to dissuade her. At some level she’s right. Stand for honor?-like the 1%? Screw it, the whole rotten edifice is going to crash anyway why not grab what we can on the way down?

And another honest, honorable person was sucked into the sewer.

I missed the part where that was on the ballot. Voting here in the US consists of choosing between two indistinguishable turd-knockers who pretend to be the opposite of each other. If there were votes on policy, I might join in and vote NO on any initiative to hand out money to anybody.
