Does Bush Have Afterthoughts?

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

Recently I learned from a feature article in a print magazine that George W. Bush, as Jimmy Carter and Winston Churchill did, has taken up painting. Among Bush’s subjects are 98 war veterans from Bush’s wars in Afghanistan and Iraq who suffered traumatic injuries. Some of the portraits were reproduced in the magazine, and they are good. Three months ago 98 portraits were published in a coffee table book, Portraits of Courage, the proceeds from which are donated to the Bush Center.

I have wondered if Bush feels responsibility and remorse for the deaths and injuries of so many people. I have wondered if he knew at the time or even now that he was fighting wars for Israel.

Israel’s efforts to annex southern Lebanon have been blocked by Hezbollah, a militia supplied by Syria, Iran, and Saddam Hussein’s Iraq. This is why these countries were on the list of countries to be invaded prepared by the Zionist neoconservatives who controlled George W. Bush’s administration.

It is certainly conceivable that Bush was manipulated by his neocon National Security Council, neocon Department of Defense, neocon State Department, and his vice president. Presidents only know what their advisors tell them. I have wondered if afterward when Bush admitted that there were no weapons of mass destruction he thought he had been manipulated.

I have also wondered if Bush was part of what many believe to be the 9/11 inside job pulled off by Dick Cheney, Israel, and the neoconservatives occupying the government’s high offices. I don’t think he was for these reasons: (1) his expression when told by the Secret Service of the attack does not show any pre-awareness, (2) he had been moved far out of the way on 9/11 to a distant children’s school and was not present on the scene to issue orders inconsistent with the plan, (3) had he been part of the plot, he would have been present to show presidential leadership during the crisis, and (4) he was not allowed to testify alone or under oath before the 9/11 Commission. He had to be chaperoned by Dick Cheney.

I suspect that Bush has wondered if it was just a coincidence that he was scheduled to be out of Washington on 9/11. Nevertheless, it would require a lot of inner strength for Bush to conclude that he was a pawn in a game of death. Even if he came to such a conclusion, to express it publicly would shake the public’s confidence in their government. I doubt anyone who has served as president could bring himself to do that. We will never know from Bush himself whether my suspicions are on the mark.

I used to read Dr. Roberts pretty regularly, but lately he seems more given to semi-incoherent ramblings.

I think he’s probably spot on about W though. I think he was so dumb he was neo-con controlled the whole way, but he also probably thought they were “doing the right thing” the whole time too. He was in WAY over his head.

No wonder he sat there reading “My Fannie Goat” or whatever it was to those kids for like 15 mins after the first plane struck. He knew he was fucked & had NO CLUE how to deal with it.

Care to explain WHY?
You know, a few specifics to back up your lunatic claim.

I agree. He is the stuff of which conspiracy theories originate.

Interesting thought. Does Bush have any thoughts (one could run wild on that sentence)? At one time I suppose, but you can’t succeed as a high ranking politician and possess empathy. That’s a deadly trait for someone who wants to lord over people. As Hayek explained in his book “The Road to Serfdom” unlike in private life where the best sort of people tend to rise to the top, the opposite is true for those who wish to engage in force. That attracts those who like ordering people around-those who actually enjoy issuing orders that kill people.

No, Mr Roberts, I doubt he cares. That’s what all that Bonesman shit is about-wringing out any vestige of conscience and replacing it with libido dominandi. And it pays real good. The Bush family has more money than they could spend in 10 lifetimes although not having run one single legitimate enterprise.

Here’s another page in their book:

CSpan occasionally re runs old Presidential debates.
One day several years ago I was bored and flipping channels and one of the Bush/Gore debates was on.
I watched for several minutes(did I mention that I was incredibly bored?).
They were talking mideast policy and I realized then that Bush had always been hardcore about going into Iraq.

For the record,I,TampaRed,do not believe that members of the US government conspired in any way to make the events of 9/11 occur.
As much as I detested and hated Bill Clinton,I do not believe that he had anything to do with the Oklahoma City bombing.
Conspiracy theories on the front end are not things that I put much credence in.
I do believe that people conspire quite a bit on the back end to cover up mistakes or their own incompetence.
I suspect that the clues that 9/11 was about to occur were glaringly obvious once a post mortem was done but either somebody screwed up badly or they were so overwhelmed with info that they missed it.

Sorry Red, but from your comments it’s obvious you haven’t looked into 9/11 one whit.
But let me sum it up for you….the “official story” is impossible, it could not have possibly happened the way they said it did.
And we’ve been in an official “state of emergency” ever since, with “continuation of government” orders still in place. In other words, a “shadow government” exists under COG executive orders.

Truth! I have been saying the same thing for years. Right here. All those fucking mid east wars with the exception of Afghanistan and Libya were for the sake of Israel and their evergoing lust for lebensraum. Lebanon is coveted because of it’s low sodium water resources.

Israel is the fucking problem over there, not Islam.

As for 9/11, what we know for an absolute fact is that Mossad agents were viewed celebrating the attack at the moment the second airliner hit, high fiving and shit. They were later caught by cops, interrogated and deported. Therefore at the very least, Israel had advance notice of the attack. Whether they shared this information with us, or were involved in the planning and execution of the attack is something I care not to speculate on. The entire fucking thing stinks to high heaven. At the very least it was blowback; at most, treason.

I don’t think Bush cares. I wouldn’t be surprised if as PCR says, the neocons and other interests played Bush like a fiddle. But does he care? I doubt it.

Bush knew exactly what he was doing.Obama and Clinton knew as well. Believing that these people are dumb is a very dangerous mistake.

The only subject matter of his paintings should be the inside walls of a prison cell at the Hague where he should be standing trial (along with Clinton and Obama) for their war crimes in the middle east. And Trump seems like he is on a quick path to deserve the same.

I thought PCR was going to refuse to allow his work to be published on sites that do not require full name registration for comments? I was looking forward to that “benefit” of TBP.

He was a male cheerleader at Yale. Two words which should never be next to one another. He’s a cunt trying to prove to Daddy he’s not a cunt. That whole crew of assholes knew it was Saudis, not Iraq. I can’t imagine how the families of the people he’s painting feel about it. I’m sure Satan has a reservation for that POS.
