Kayla Hart dropped by the Starbucks in Charlotte, North Carolina the other day for a cup of coffee. She left with a bitter taste – and it had nothing to do with the overpriced java.
Kayla happened to be wearing a Donald Trump t-shirt when she walked into the coffee shop on East Boulevard in the Dilworth neighborhood.
She tells Fox 46 the cashier took one look at her t-shirt and laughed. She also noticed her order was labeled with a political message – mocking her support of the president.
Instead of her name, the cashier wrote, “Build A Wall.”
“They shouted out, ‘Build a Wall’ and shoved a drink at me and then all the baristas in the back started cracking up laughing,” she said.
As you might imagine, it was a bit embarrassing for Kayla – whose only offense was to spend her hard-earned money at a far-left coffee house like Starbucks.
“I don’t know what politics has to do with getting a cup of coffee,” she told our Fox television affiliate.
Well, these days the mere mention of President Trump’s name can roast a barista’s beans faster than you can say, “Make America Great Again.”
“I just walked out because everyone was staring,” she said. “I just found it really sad that I can’t wear a t-shirt with our president without being made fun of.”
The good people at Fox 46 Charlotte thought the folks at Starbucks headquarters should know what was happening in their local store – and soon they received a response:
“We failed to meet this customer’s expectations of us, and we have apologized and are working directly with her to make it right. This experience is not consistent with our standards or the welcoming and respectful experience we aim to provide every customer who visit our stores. We have spoken with our store partners about this situation and are using this as a coaching opportunity for the future,” Starbucks said in a statement.
Kayla said she is not on some sort of crusade to get people to boycott Starbucks. She just thinks customers should be treated with a little dignity.
“I don’t think it’s right you should be humiliated for wearing a t-shirt with your opinion on it,” she said.
Kayla should switch to Community Coffee. It won’t bust your budget, the staff is steeped in hospitality, and the coffee doesn’t taste burned.
Here’s why according to Pastor Manning:
Pastor David Manning Admits to Gay Impulses, Claims Gay Semen in Starbucks Coffee
Talk about a snowflake…
Hear ya. Trying to imagine myself feeling embarrassed or humiliated by a barista.
When I get to the point where I feel shamed by a minimum wage asshole wearing an apron and a funny hat I think I’ll pack it in. I’m not elitist and I believe all work is honorable but my self worth isn’t based on what someone else thinks of me.
I agree. Not an ‘elitist’ either, but I absolutely will not be shamed by some idiotic gender studies major that serves me coffee.
Id say I’ll stop giving Starbucks any of my money, but I already don’t go there, so fuck it.
I know it, Un. ” OH! The horror, some little pissant barista just made fun of me”…. I don’t get it. In another neighborhood in Charlotte, the customer might have just slapped the piss out of the little bitch.
Dilworth is a liberal shithole . Those liberals Progressives are in for a rude awakening once that neighborhood is completely surrounded by third world bottom feeders.
Yeah, Dilworth is the little shopping district for Meyers’ Park, home of the fake tidewater accent a`la Alex McMillan, if any of y’all remember him.
Yes but he was far better than that socialist asshole DG Martin whom the Charlotte Observer said vote for him as he was “thoughtful “
If so, it ain’t saying much. I left Charlotte in ’92. It’s probably not even recognizable now.
Amen. But, she’d likely get the same treatment on the Providence Rd location next to the Manor Theatre that is <2 mi. in the heart of heavily republican Eastover/Myers Park.
BTW, who's going to live in the gazillion apts along the rail line once 2008 repeats?
I lived in Sharon Lakes until I left. Wonder what that’s like now.
Simple solution. Don’t go to Starbucks.
I have never stepped foot in a Starbucks, I do not go to the grocery stores that have a Starbucks inside and I darn sure refuse to purchase their products off the shelf of the local Walmart…..it is the least I can do.
I haven’t done ANY business with Starbucks due to the owners/group of Starbuck stated they were against the 2nd amendment. That said, the last few years they are pro refugee and left minded. I haven’t bought an over priced coffee from them in years. Don’t do business with them!
Kayla, you deserved what you got. What the hell are you doing giving your money to those communist mud shark faggots? (since the shooting in Virginia I have refrained from using inflamitory language)
Right. I haven’t been in a Starbucks since the “Hire refugees” pledge.
Never, ever been or going to be in a Starbucks.
Zero business sense displayed by a paid employee. Not a thought for the owner.
It’s hard enough to keep the doors open without someone WHO IS PAID TO DO A GOOD JOB pissing off customers. I’d fire the fool and warn the rest to have personal opinions on their personal time.
Who drinks that vile shit in the 1st place. It always tastes like they burnt the beans, & no, that’s not French roast. It’s plain unadulterated garbage coffee with what used to be a good marketing scheme.
Starbucks – Over the top hucksterism and exorbitant prices for wretched coffee.
I hope I would have the presence of mind to accidentally knock the coffee on the floor just before I walked out.
If Starbucks really regretted this incident the ONLY real response is to FIRE the person, as well as anyone who was laughing. I’m not holding my breath.
There are far too many local coffee places, no need for Starbucks.
Well it seems that the video above explains why I always thought Starbucks coffee tastes like shit.
Overpriced, understrengthed shit water/milk.
Their laughing at the ladies attire, working for minimum wage with a liberal arts degree.
Really?
