Trump Pardons Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Tyler Durden's picture

After weeks of speculation whether Trump would pardon sheriff Joe Arpaio – who on July 31 was found guilty of defying a court order barring officers from stopping Latino drivers on suspicion they were in US illegally, bringing his tenure as a crusader against illegal immigration to an end – as he hinted at the recent Phoenix rally, or if he would, as the NYT claimed, not interfere in the legal process, moments ago – in what is now a record-setting Friday night for the sheer barrage of news – the White House announced that Donald Trump would pardon sheriff Joe Arpaio.

President Trump Pardons Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Today, President Donald J. Trump granted a Presidential pardon to Joe Arpaio, former Sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona. Arpaio’s life and career, which began at the age of 18 when he enlisted in the military after the outbreak of the Korean War, exemplify selfless public service. After serving in the Army, Arpaio became a police officer in Washington, D.C. and Las Vegas NV and later served as a Special Agent for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), formerly the Bureau of Narcotics. After 25 years of admirable service, Arpaio went on to lead the DEA’s branch in Arizona.

In 1992, the problems facing his community pulled Arpaio out of retirement to return to law enforcement. He ran and won a campaign to become Sheriff of Maricopa County. Throughout his time as Sheriff, Arpaio confirmed his life’s work of protecting the public from the scourges of crime and illegal immigration. Sheriff Joe Arpaio is now eighty-five years old, and after more than fifty years of admirable service to our Nation, he is worthy candidate for a Presidential pardon.

In immediate response, Sheriff Arpaio told NBC that he believes he is vindicated by Trump’s pardon, and looks forward to sharing his story.

Curious for more? Here is the NYT with “Why Trump Can’t Pardon Arpaio” although a just as interesting, if missing, read would have been “why Bill Clinton can’t pardon Marc Rich. ”

The Sheriff is a national hero, the judge in his case is a libtard leftist Bathhouse Barry appointee . This so called jurist has no right to sit on the bench and make decisions. Joe Arpaio should never been convicted. Our President did the right thing to correct a miscarriage of justice. -30-

Professor Reddish neatly side-steps the real issue here. While moaning, gnashing his teeth and rending his garments over this alleged abuse of the executive power to pardon, this dishonest egghead neglects to discuss the reason for the pardon and the reason the executive has pardon power. Reddish blithely assumes that the “judicial system” is above reproach, cites dubious “constitutional rights” invented by liberals like himself, and ignore what really happened in this case. Obama illegally gave orders to Federal authorities to ignore the immigration laws, a violation of his oath of office in what was clearly an impeachable offense. When the sheriff quite properly tried to protect the citizens of his county by using common sense measures to identify and jail illegal aliens, Obama enlisted the aid of a corrupt liberal judge (but I repeat myself) and his completely politicized DOJ to conduct an odious campaign of political persecution against the sheriff. So, Reddish, you who calls for impeachment, care to open up this can of worms? Care to drag Obama and his henchmen into court to explain their conspiracy to deliberately fail to enforce Federal law and their criminal perversion of the justice system to persecute the sheriff? Or the noble judge, who cleverly ensured that the sheriff did not have the right to a jury trial? Bring it on, asshole.

Watch how the MSM and associates will be outraged and shocked by this, condemning Trump for everything from being dictatorial to usurping the legitimacy of the legal system.

Not that they went out of their way to even mention Obama’s massive number of pardons for drug criminals and terrorists.

Strange how that works, isn’t it?

I’m guessing Trump isn’t going after the Mexican vote in 2020.

Sending an 85 year old man to prison … for doing his job. Wow

At least Trump fixed that wrong. Right, EC?

What a field day for the heat. The pigs win, either way. It turns out we are the establishment now. Make war, not love!

They fucked Lee Baca for lying to the FBI. He didn’t get a pardon for protecting his officers who were accused of unnecessary roughness against prisoners. Old Lee made sure to take care of the right people, Hollywood celebrity types. That’s the way to keep getting reelected.

This motherfucker Arpaio went out of his way to make a name for himself, to insure his reelection. Phoenix is a big city with lots of crime, could be the fucking heat. Being landlocked has a way of fucking up the senses. There is lots of drug abuse there. Kidnappings, robberies, lots of shit.

Old Scratch, I mean Old Joe put lots of criminals in his tent city, out in the desert heat. It gets warm in Phoenix, 120 degrees is not an exaggeration. He fed the fuckers bologna sandwiches and outfitted them with pink prisonwear. He moved his victims around the jails to confuse the family members looking for their husband or wife and ICE agents quickly bullied them into signing voluntary deportation papers in spite of other legal avenues to freedom. When it was his turn to move into tent city, the asshole cried like a YoBo. He flooded Trump’s email with pleas for a pardon. Old Trump is doing this for political gain.

Both sheriffs were doing their job as they saw fit. Old Joe picked a hot issue to gain national fame; Sheriff Joe, America’s Sheriff, you’d have thunk the bastard was Marshall Dillon. Having come to prominence, he now felt he was above the law and need not knuckle under to the authority of the judge. Why is lying to the feds a punishable crime but flouting the law is worthy of an instant pardon?

I know the knuckle draggers here think he’s right. They would side with a murderer if he killed the right people. They are siding with a law-breaker because he was profiling the right color folks. He got his boy elected and now he has immunity from prosecutors – impunity.

Pop the champagne corks, motherfuckers, that’s one small pardon for a man, one giant leap for fascism! Who needs a pardon, who?

But it is your custom that I release to you one prisoner at the Passover. So then, do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” “Not this man, they shouted, “but Barabbas!”

Oh no!!! They had to wear pink outfits? The humanity!!

Bologna sandwiches? More horror! BTW, how does the Mexican government treat prisoners?

I think you’re putting the cart before the horse. They wouldn’t be eating bologna in pinkies , if they weren’t illegally here.

Yeah, he’s one badass torturer. Arpoyo turned into a little bitch when he was facing tent city.
You can joke all you want about it being a dry heat, 120 degrees plus is hot. His job was to hold them for a time, not humiliate and torture them. That’s the Army’s job but even so, the Army feeds you good.

More of the Trump we thought we were getting. Watching this unfold from inside Arizona it always seemed like it was Holdermors personal vendetta. Maybe for the birth certificate, maybe for the good sheriff calling them out on fast and furious. Either way, a wrong has been righted. County sheriffs are supposed to answer to the people of the county, not to DC. That is a huge problem for law enforcement, county sheriffs, and police chiefs who bow down and scrape before their fedgov masters. Thus you end up with a situation were “peaceful protesters” feel free to block vehicle traffic and the copfucks are afraid to stop them.

You fail to see the implication of the old bullshit that ‘if you haven’t done anything wrong, you have nothing to fear’ from cops who want to search your car or house without a warrant.
Right now, you applaud such police abuse of Hispanics but what will you say when the cops become so inured to violating the civil rights of Americans that you can get a body cavity search by the roadside at the officer’s whim?

EC, I completely get your point about the ‘done no wrong, got nothing to hide’ B.S. I can’t stand when people say that. It shows Their ignorance of history and human nature.

If a nation refuses to determine who and how many enter and for how long it ceases to be a nation. Mexico doesn’t allow people from Guatemala and Honduras to waltz in and out Why should we?

As for profiling and so called constitutional rights. People not of this country have no standing. Just as I have no standing in Germany, or Korea, Or anywhere outside my country of origin. So even though it is harsh and causes grief to families that is not my problem. If I snuck in to another country I would know full well that if I was caught I would pay a heavy price and my family would experience grief.

You say “Phoenix is a big city with lots of crime, could be the heat.” Hey maybe it could be the F***ing criminals. It wasn’t always that way. It is a shithole in the making, biding it’s time till it falls into third world status. It would take a shit ton of money to get me to live or work there. The only thing that keeps AZ safe is tens of thousands of people who carry everywhere as they say an armed society is a polite society.

I get your point, Normy. As much as we like to be left alone, we end up wondering where the cops are when you see shitheads driving like maniacs.

Folks get their wires crossed when confronted with a situations like this one; a crime-fighter crosses the like and goes rogue. I am not denying the immigration problem. The complaint against Old Joe (my brother loves the fucker) is that he completely threw civil rights into the waste basket and was stopping everybody who looked brown and down.

I’m not asking you to waste one iota of sympathy for (((illegals))), the problem is that he effectively targeted the Hispanics and was running a campaign of terror against them.
There were a few Native Americans that got caught up in the sweeps.

The feds told Old Joe that the job he was doing was ICE’s problem, not his. He didn’t give a fuck, he had a hardon for Hispanics. There must have been some collusion between crooked employers and the sheriff, it wasn’t rare to hear of a bunch of (((illegal))) workers dismissed without pay or arrested before payday.

I don’t know where you got your info from but Phoenix is LLPOH’s old stomping grounds and a powerhouse of manufacturing and electronic processing. LA is more the shithole you imagine. The folks living in Phoenix are busting their ass working, they aren’t playing Tiddlywinks.

I understand your problem w/ profiling based on skin color. Civil rights have been thrown out the window. Believe it or not I get profiled because I am a veteran, own to many guns, and I am just generally an asshole. Since the 911, I have never had a time I have flown were I didn’t get secondary screening and had those assholes leave a note in my checked bags.

So the police state abuse is not limited to people of color. I don’t know that I agree w/you about it being his personal terror campaign, after all, we can all agree the feds look the other way on immigration, sanctuary cities, repeat offenders. So maybe scratch as you call him just thinks he is doing a job the feds refuse to do. The crooked employers could be put out of business in a hot minute except for the fact that they own the congress.

You said yourself crime was rampant and I agree. We are not talking about the whole valley, and most of the manufacturing and electronics stuff is in mesa/tempe, east valley. Down town has been revitalized and is nice. I can remember when I was growing up Central, 1st and 2nd streets had junkies laying about, hookers, pimps, you name it.

Today if you drive a few minutes away from downtown it looks like Tijuana. The only other thing that has always worked in the cities favor is the low percentage of dindus. I have relatives as well in long beach and when you leave Their gated commune you think you have entered another country. Either way Phoenix is doomed. It is 24 to 48 hours away from catastrophe It relies on the good grace of the rest of the state for its food, water and power. Thats a pretty nice downtown you have there, It would be a shame if something happened to it.

That shithole south of the 10 applies to LA also. Somebody posted a video showing where major cities around the world have rich sections butting up against the poor neighborhoods. The video’s premise was that the rich take the good land and push the poor out into the crap region, sounds about right. Poor fucks got to live somewhere.

When real estate prices went crazy, the poor folks sold their shithole property in South LA and bought new houses up in the AV (because house prices here are tens of thousands cheaper). The formerly white Highland HS became a predominantly black and Hispanic school overnight almost. We are overrun with LA scum with their maniacal driving skills and road rage. Fuckers.
