Almost 20 years of stagnation under Putin too. Today Russia’s peer nations are Mexico, Pakistan and, I suppose, North Korea for Kim Jong Un now can boast of having ICBMS and Hydrogen bombs Putin’s only claim to ‘Great Power’ status.

The problem for Russia is that Putin could only be half way through his ‘presidency’ and if the next 20 years are like the last Mexico and Pakistan may have left Russia in the dust and North Korea could, like South Korea today, have the larger economy!

Measured by per capita GDP, Russia’s approximate peers are Turkey, Malaysia and Romania. Interestingly Russia trails Venezuela, at least according to the UN. Russia is a technologically advanced country, but in terms of building a middle class, it has a very long ways to go. I guess that’s why there are so many hot chicks on the Russian dating sites.

As for Pakistan, it ranks with the African nations and is quite a bit below Syria. Considering that all of Syria’s primary cities are in various states of ruin, that’s kind of funny.

Putin’s sanity is arguably the primary reason WW III – with nukes, and lots of ’em – hasn’t already happened. If there is any such thing as a ‘statesman’ in an honorable sense – admittedly a dubious proposition – Putin is one, and I’d be hard pressed to name any other currently in power. Disrespecting Russia is exceedingly foolish. Russians are smart, tough motherfuckers; if they ever get shed of the delusion of collectivism – and, frankly, their prospects in that regard are looking better than FUSA’s at this point – they will be truly formidable.

That Russia is is pretty good shape overall, has a huge landmass, a lot of it in temperate climate zones, and is underpopulated should make it an excellent place to consider bugging out to, since land prices should be reasonable. No place is without flaws, here are some drawbacks for ‘murikans in Rooshia:

Zara mentioned Venezuela in one of the above comments.
I saw an article in the last few days that both Russia and China are helping Venezuela.I didn’t read the entire article but they are doing what we should be doing.Venezuela has some of the largest oil reserves in the world-do we want to see them going to Russia,China,or their allies?
Do we want Russian or Chinese bases in the Caribbean or Gulf?

China and Russia won’t put bases in the Caribbean. It’d be a colossal waste of effort and money.

I suspect that Vlad is more of a badass than people in the West think. If there was a tape of him talking about grabbing pussy, I bet the guy in possession of it knows better than to release it.

I’ll bet the woman would be eager to be known as who he’s talking about being willing to let him grab.

Over there that is a resume enhancement. “It’s good to be east of Suez, where a man can be a man.”

Sinatra is probably lucky he wasn’t whacked and got to live to a pretty ripe old age… As for the first video, he got a lot of pussy and had no regrets. Let every man have such a song to look back upon. For me I failed to take full advantage of my youth. I think of what a friend from high school told me so long ago, “a fuck you pass up is a fuck you’ll never get.” He was wiser than me.

People shouldn’t underestimate Pakistan. Not only is it a nuclear power like Russia and North Korea it is populated by almost 200 million Muslim fanatics. It also has sizable fifth columns of its nationals in most Western nations. In fact the Pakistani ‘government’ doesn’t even control large areas of its territory those being under the rule of tribal warlords.

Fortunately for the US, Pakistan’s primary foe is India. Compared to Pakistan, Russia is a far less dangerous military foe.

I like Putin. I always wonder what’s going to happen with Russia when he’s no longer president because he’s a smart and tough guy, but restrained as far as falling for provocations. I worry the U.S. will do something dastardly if their next leader is weak.
