Pictorial: American Animosity Ambling Amuck

This Russia Collusion thing has been going on for one year now. I’m not interested in debating whether or not Trump colluded. I am interested in examining the massive hypocrisy emanating from our government, and on display daily in living color from MSM  whores, prostitutes, traitors, teleprompter readers. Who among us Dirt People isn’t amazed that our politicians can feign their fake indignant shock that such a thing could happen …. for, surely, America would never do such a thing!

The fact is that we  treat the world like a giant outhouse, a place where we shit upon any nation we choose, at the time of our choosing, and then pretend outrage when they return the favor. Not that there’s anything wrong with this. Because, there isn’t, right? It’s how the world works.

But, the Whores&Pols act as if foreign entanglements should be a pure and noble endeavor when, if fact, it’s a dirty rotten business, played as such by powerful nations. Criticism of Russia, China, etc. has risen to a fever pitch. Meanwhile, they paint America as a friendly bringer of democracy,  whose motives are pure as the driven snow, building shining cities on the hill for other countries, and where unicorn farts smell like wildflowers.

Of course, this is all poppycock because making America great again comes at  a price.

—– Henry Kissinger said, — “America has no permanent friends or enemies, only interests.” (Probably stolen from British PM Benjamin Disreali, who likely stole it from Lord Palmersto)

—– Czar Alexander III said; —  “Russia only has two allies: the army and the navy.

—– De Gaulle  said — “a man can have a friend, a nation, never

—– In the novel “Count of Monte Cristo” we read: –  “In politics, my dear fellow, you know, as well as I do, there are no men, but ideas—no feelings, but interests; in politics we do not kill a man, we only remove an obstacle, that is all.

—– George Washington in his farewell address  … urged Americans to avoid even long-term FRIENDLY relations or rivalries with any nation … that these attachments will only cloud the government’s judgment in its foreign policy … which could only lead to unnecessary wars which have no justification and no benefit to the country.  Isolationist? Perhaps.  But, 231 years ago he put America’s interests first above all others.

—– President Donald Trump; — “We’ve defended other nations’ borders while refusing to defend our own; and spent trillions of dollars overseas while America’s infrastructure has fallen into disrepair and decay. But that is the past. And now we are looking only to the future. We assembled here today are issuing a new decree to be heard in every city, in every foreign capital, and in every hall of power. From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land. From this moment on, it’s going to be America first.

The Media Whores, Dems, and even some Repubs have hammered Trump for making such comments. “Bully!”,  “Clueless!”,  “Mean spirited!”, “Uncooperative!”, they scream as loudly as a man with his pecker caught in a zipper. When the fact of the matter is that Trump may the most honest man in the room (regrading a nation’s self interest).

The Rage Against Russia is met with an exact equal dose of Acquiescence for America. These Galvanizing Goebbels Gobblers hope you never discover that ‘America-For-Make-Benefit-Glorious-Nation-Of-America’ has been a defacto policy for at least the past 75 years. Long before Trump made it cool to put America first, the USA!USA!USA! expanded that “doctrine” to absolutely positively interfere with other nations’ culture, politics, … and their elections. At least 7 million have died as a result.  Let’s take a look ….

But first, a quick joke … that’s not really a joke.

—Q: Why has there never been a coup in the United States?

—A: Because there’s no U.S. embassy in Washington.

2016_12_29 USinterferenceForeignElections.r2

In fact, This scholarly article  (available for $42) shows that Russia AND the United States have interfered in ONE HUNDRED SEVENTEEN (117) foreign elections since 1945. And this figure does NOT include military coups and/or regime change attempts!  Let’s peek at just 10 cases of US Interference, some well known, others not so much.

HAITI (1915)

The lingering aftermath today: A Haitian woman bakes “cookies” by mixing salt, vegetable oil, water and dirt (yes, dirt).

http://goingviralposts.biz/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/115.jpg

America invaded Haiti in 1915, installed a client government, imposed new laws, and ruled for 19 years. Concerning Haiti, Secretary of State William Jennings Bryan said – “Think of it! Niggers speaking French!” The USA wanted to make sure that the Haitian government was compatible to American economic interests and friendly to foreign investment.  From the archives of the State Department

The United States gained complete control over Haitian finances, and the RIGHT TO INTERVENE in Haiti WHENEVER the U.S. Government deemed necessary.”

About 15,000 were killed. Many times that number were wounded or died as a result of war’s aftermath; starvation and disease. General Smedley was disgusted with the role he played; — “I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street.”

ITALY (1948)

The bread we eat 40% Italian flour / 60% American flour sent for free

Elections in 1948 were not the mass media events they are today. The campaign took place in the squares, the factories, the pulpits, wherever people gathered.  A kep piece of party-political propaganda was the poster. Millions of them.  The above poster reads; “The bread we eat: 40% Italian flour 60% American flour sent for free.”

The cold war was unfolding. There was a the communist coup in Czechoslovakia in 1948. The U.S. feared that a socialist-communist coalition would triumph in Italian elections. At the tail end of the election campaign, Time magazine warned of an ominous leftist victory which would lead to “the brink of catastrophe“.

The U.S. felt they had to influence the will of the Italian people.  They barred Italians who “did not believe in the ideology of the United States” from even entering the country. The CIA (in its first major cold war covert action) funded opposing parties. They orchestrated a massive propaganda campaign. They persuaded millions of Italian-Americans to write letters. The State Department made it clear that there would be “no further question of assistance from the United States” if the wrong people won. Its efforts were a success.

F. Mark Wyatt, a career CIA officer, helped deliver millions of dollars to the eventual victors. He said, — “We had bags of money that we delivered to selected politicians, to defray their political expenses, their campaign expenses, for posters [see above picture] , for pamphlets,”  in a 1995 interview recorded for “Cold War,” a 1998 documentary.  The Christian Democrats won the elections by a comfortable margin and formed a government that excluded the Communists.  According to declassified records, the C.I.A.’s practice of buying political clout was repeated in every Italian election for the next 24 years.

IRAN (1953)

Related image

British owned ‘Anglo-Iranian Oil Company’ was making enormous profits and only paying Iran 16%, or less. This pissed off Iranians. Mohammad Mossadegh was “elected” (selected, actually) as Prime Minister in 1951. He wanted to nationalize the oil company. This delighted Iranians (Mossadegh is still popular to this day). But, it pissed off the British. They tried to get rid of Mossadegh. They failed.

So, they asked the U.S. to help. Eventually, and with nagging from Winston Churchill, President Eisenhower decided to intervene. Not just for oil, but both British and American intelligence operatives pulled out that favorite card … COMMIES! (Even though Iranians at the time feared Russians more than America did.)

Related image

The CIA launched Operation Ajax, a twisted plot filled with lies and small false flag events, all aimed at getting the Iranian monarch (Mr. Shah) to dismiss the duly elected Mossadegh. But, they say at that time the Shah was such a very gentle man that he was called “weak reed” because he needed much guidance. In today’s language he would be known as a pussy. Of course, history shows he relented. His pussification was instantly cured after accepting large bribes.

The U.S. continued getting a huge share of Iran’s oil, we funded the Shah’s government, army, and brutal secret police, SAVAK. We turned a weenie into a dick. Until 1979. That’s when U.S. paid a bigger price by becoming the Great Satan. Had we left Iran to attend to their own affairs in their own natural timeframe, it’s quite conceivable to imagine that none of the tension we see today between Iran and America would have ever come to fruition.

Nice first-hand accounts from people directly involved, here

Note: I am aware of those who justify America’s actions, and even those who deny it all together.  See National Interest, a neocon think-tank. But even that source must admit we disposed of Iran’s legitimate leader;

“Mossadegh enjoyed massive popularity at different times during his political career, but his position as Prime Minister was never due to a nationwide poll. This is not to say Mossadegh’s position was not legitimate. He was chosen by his constituency to be a Majles deputy, this is indisputable.”

GUATEMALA (1954)

There were no bananas in the U.S. in 1870.  Thirty years later Americans were consuming 45 million pounds per year. By 1899 the United Fruit Company (UFCO) became the largest banana company in the world with plantations throughout Central America … eleven steamships, known as the Great White Fleet plus 30 other ships rented or leased.  Central and South America countries fell under the thumb of the mighty UFCO, also called “El Pulpo” (the octopus) but, none more so than Guatemala.

The company spent a lot of money on infrastructure such as ports and railroads … eventually gaining control of virtually all means of transport and communications. What’s good for the banana, is good for Guatemala. Of course, they eventually corrupted every level of government and politics in Guatemala, even getting exempt from taxes for 99 years. UFCO had the unconditional support of right-wing dictators who maintained their power by terrorizing the people and arresting prominent citizens who were either killed on the spot or tortured in prison to extract confessions.

By 1944, Guatemalans got tired of this shit. They overthrew the Dick Tator and held its first true elections in history. The new guy, Dr. Juan Jose Arevalo Bermejo, even drafted a new constitution based on the U.S. Constitution. The next guy, Jacobo Arbenz, continued the reforms. At the time, 2% of the population owned over 70% of the land … only 10% of the land was available for 90% of the population. He decided to make some of the unused land available to the people. This really pissed off UFCO. A lot. They owned the unused land and wanted to keep it to themselves. But Jacobo Arbenz basically told them to go stick a banana up their asses. So, UFCO went to the USA for help.

Brothers Allen and John Foster Dulles, CIA director and secretary of state, respectively, were closely tied to UFCO. Ed Whitman, UFCO’s top public relations officer, was the husband of Ann Whitman, President Eisenhower’s private secretary. So, UFCO, went to our government and told them — “Jacobo Arbenz is a COMMIE!!”  And, the USA believed it!!

Ed Whitman was even involved in the production of a film, “Why the Kremlin Hates Bananas“, which pictured UFCO fighting in the front trenches of the cold war! (See above video.) Newspapers across the country, including The New York Times, ran anti-Guatemala stories.

So, in 1954 the CIA  orchestrated a coup … “Operation PBSUCCESS” … set up a clandestine radio station to carry propaganda, jammed all Guatemalan stations, and hired skilled American pilots to bomb strategic points in Guatemala City.

The U.S. replaced the freely elected government of Guatemala with another right-wing dictatorship …. because, bananas. Guatemala was thrown back into the dark ages and the stage was set for the next 30 years of repression and killing.

Here’s the interesting unexpected consequence. Che Guevara lived in Guatemala at the time. He would later tell Cuban leader Fidel Castro that it was Guatemala’s free and open society that allowed the CIA to penetrate and overthrow President Arbenz … and that Castro shouldn’t cooperate with the U.S. if he hoped to stay in power. Castro heeded the advice. The collateral damage was “freedom” in Cuba.

CONGO (1961)

How DARE he say such incendiary stuff!!

Patrice Lumumba, a thirty five year old, slight, goateed man with black, half-framed glasses, was the country’s first democratically chosen leader. He presided over a country as large as the U.S. east of the Mississippi. But, the U.S. and Belgium have been screwing with Congo for 125 years … because the country was cursed with enormous natural resources which both countries intended to exploit for as long as possible.

Lumumba wanted to unify all the various factions in his country. He wanted to Make Congo Great Again by making great deals. Deals which would keep some of Congo’s wealth in Congo. Oops! He had to be assassinated.

But, the CIA needed a good reason. Yet, once again … wait for it … Congo was full of … wait …. COMMIES!!  Ludo De Witte, the Belgian author of the best book on this crime, qualifies it as “the most important assassination of the 20th century” See this article.

Here’s how it basically went down. Lumumba was captured, horribly tortured, then killed. He was doused in acid to make his body disappear. But, they ran out of acid. So they crushed, hacked and ground his body to pieces, scattering the remains in an area that would later be named “Lumumba”. The lengths some people go to in order to have a city named after them!

VIETNAM (1956 election)

Related image

Everyone has an opinion about Vietnam, and we are all experts. I’m going to try to make a looong story short, basic, and without bullshit.

 1) The French (by way of Napoleon’s decision) began their colonization of Vietnam in 1859.
2) As they are prone to do, the French retreated in 1950’s.
3) An election was scheduled.
4) It was crystal clear that Ho Chi Minh would win in a landslide.
5) However, America loves democracy and voting, as long as the right candidate is elected. It wasn’t Ho. Cuz  he was a COMMIE!!! The USA was afraid of Domino’s pizza. Or, something like that.
6) So, the U.S. intervened, and wanted to install a puppet named Ngo Dinh Diem.
7) Vietnam split in 1954. Ngo was to be ruler of the South.
 But, the election was cancelled.

8) So, the USA needed to prop up the puppet regime. Pretend it had support. However, the people of Vietnam really really didn’t like Diem. So, we picked him.
9) We also chose the opposing candidate, Emperor Bao Dai, an exiled member of the royal family. The people hated Bao Dai even more than Diem.
10) So, Diem won by 98.2% of the vote. Fair! hahahaha
11) The media declared it a victory for the people of Vietnam. The new regime was recognized immediately by  France, the United States, Great Britain, Australia, New  Zealand, Italy, Japan, Thailand, and South Korea.
12)  The USA went to war to defend the fictional  government we chose, propped up and supported …  at the cost of 58,000 dead American boys. Vietnam is again unified. They won.

INDONESIA (1967):

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xTVXOeb7YYE/S8EzjBu5JbI/AAAAAAAAAc4/cfE-9qFPxMw/s1600/56.jpg

A little change of picture pace. Above is Dewi Sukarno, born Naoko Nemoto (February 1940), was a Japanese socialite and one of the wives of Indonesian leader Sukarno. She was 19 when she met Sukarno, who was 57. She liked to show off her body. I appreciate that. It’s rumored that Sukarno grabbed her pussy when they first met. But, it seems no one gave a rats ass about such things back then.

There are many criticisms that can be leveled against Sukarno.  He was a Nationalist, not crazy about capitalism, enacted economic policies that were communist in nature, and he sided with the Japs in WWII. Even some of his supporters considered him narcissistic and a megalomaniac. But this article isn’t about the pros/cons about any country, or leader.  It’s about whether or not the U.S. respects the rights of the people in other countries, especially in regards to elections. Indonesians, even to this day, view Sukarno as we do George Washington. Sukarno was the first elected President, a symbol of Independence and National Unity for Indonesia, and a principal founding father.

His government faced a significant hurdle towards unity. Indonesia had hundreds of parties during the first few years of Democracy. In the last election before his ouster, there were basically Four Major Parties which formed the majority of Parliament. One of the Four Parties was the Communist Party.  They finished fourth. The U.S. freaked out. And they fully supported in every way the brutal purgings that followed.

The following won’t convince anyone. But, in 2015 the International Court in Hague issued a 600 page report (started in 1965) which ruled that the U.S., Brits, and Aussies were complicit in Indonesia’s crimes against humanity in the 1965 coup.   Here

The U.S. also tried to overthrow the Indonesian government in 1958. A fairly detailed story can be found  here

CHILE (1973)

Image result for chile 1973 coup

The same stadium that housed a World Cup a decade earlier was used as a prison. Maybe the US will do the same when FEMA camps open for buisiness?

U.S. involvement in Chilean politics started almost as soon as Chile became a nation in 1810.  See Wiki link here.

In the 1970 election, the United States waged a “spoiling” operation as Salvador Allende ran for the presidency. The United States organized campaigns to create political polarization, distrust of government, and financial panic. Propaganda was used to sow dissent between socialists and communists who might support Allende. A scare campaign warned that an Allende victory would bring violence and Stalinist repression.

Despite all that, Allende was elected president in 1970 by a plurality. President Richard M. Nixon declared the victory unacceptable and famously ordered U.S. operatives “to make the economy scream.” It did.

Many strikes happened. U.S. aid, $35 million in 1969, was reduced to $1.5 million in 1971. The CIA fabricated information. Then. one nice sunny day in Santiago, Chilean planes flew overhead, tanks moved through the streets, a curfew was imposed, and people began to disappear and die. Welcome to the murderous rule of Pinochet … where at least 3,000 were murdered, and 30,000 tortured. But, hey! At least he wasn’t a COMMIE! Right?

I include this story because the CIA, for once, admitted to its dirty dealings. Read about it here

HONDURAS (2009)

The Honduran military ousted democratically elected President Manuel Zelaya in a coup d’etat in 2009. The U.N. called it a coup. The OAS called it a coup. The European Union called it a coup. President Zelaya in a four page letter  to Obama asking for help, called it a coup. But, the Wicked Witch of the East (known by some as “Hillary”) decided to not call it a coup. She claimed that calling it a coup would have shut off aid to Honduras and hurt the poor people. She loves the plight of the poor.

(Actual photo of HRC on her way to work to help the poor.)

However, emails that she forgot to wipe showed that she was working furiously behind the scenes to thwart every single effort by all the surrounding democracies to restore Zelaya back in power. The Secretary Of Lies eventually told some truth, for even chronic liars can’t keep their stories straight forever; — “Zelaya had friends and allies, not just in Honduras, but in some of the neighboring countries, like Nicaragua and that we could have had a terrible civil war that would have been just terrifying in its loss of life.

In short, Creepy Cankles refused to support democracy, legitimized the coup government, looked the other way when the military brutally cracked down on dissent, and the coup de grâce to America was, and continues, to be a surge of illegal immigrants from that country.

=================================================== =

Of course, I left out several current and obvious examples. How many elections have we totally orchestrated in Afghanistan? Iraq? Those two countries might as well have an American puppet as their flag.  The clusterfuk in Ukraine wasn’t initiated by Russia, but by our own CIA because Ukraine’s duly elected president was spurning NATO overtures, while leaning towards Russia. We’re just dying (literally) to help the Syrian people elect the correct president. And, how long until we stick our noses in Venezuela’s elections?

Perhaps you were offended by what I wrote at the beginning of this article where I said we treat all nations like an outhouse. You might object by claiming ” everybody does likewise”. Well, I don’t have the time or resources to do a background check on every nation … but, I doubt that’s true. I watched the documentary “Borat”, and I was left with the impression that countries like Uzbekistan just don’t give a shit about such things.  Liechtenstein and at least 100 other small countries and island nations are just way to small, lacking the resources to pull it off. Size matters. This is a game only the really Big Dogs can, and do, play.

I don’t blame the American people. Many, if not most of us with an IQ above room temperature, are sick to death of this insanity. There is a Great Evil in our land. I lay full blame on the U.S. government and her enablers, the military-industrial complex.

It is true that power corrupts. When you combine the natural penchant of wickedness in the heart of humans with the fearsome power of modern technology (internet, spy satellites, massive surveillance, etc.) and add to that the ability to collate, separate, and almost instantly analyze trillions of bits of information, and thus put god-like power in the hands of an elite few (NSA, CIA, etc.) — then the power which corrupts just increases to Satanic levels, never before seen in human history. That, my friends, is what you’re seeing unfold before your very eyes.

Many (such as myself) pulled the lever labeled “Donald Trump” because one of his key campaign promises was to extricate the U.S. from this insanity of endless entanglements in the affairs of other nations. One year later, we are all still waiting for that particular promise to bear fruit. Meanwhile, talk of nuclear war has escalated to 1950s levels under the regime of Trumplethinskin.

Not that I excuse his narccistic, egomaniacal dictatorship, but given our 75 years of U.S. Deep Interference, can you at least understand why Kim The Rocketman is a tad bit paranoid?  If you were the leader of a country, would you trust America to not mess you up if you didn’t govern as America expected? I wouldn’t.

But, I store my greatest wrath for the government’s official mouthpiece, the MSM. ALL of them, from liberal (MSNBC/ to Conservative (Fox) to the Clinton News Network (CNN). They were supposed to be the vanguard of democracy by questioning what democracy does. Instead, they have become One Big Rubber Stamp … not questioning, but ass-kissing every single piece of propaganda the MIC sets before them. They have betrayed us, the people. If there is a God in heaven, I pray they meet a betrayers fate.

But, there is at least one good lesson to be learned from this Betrayal. My sister is a life-long, die-hard, Democrat. She is “with her” unflinchingly even to this day. Yet, even she rolls her eyes and changes the TV channel when the MSM-whores drone on about Russian interference. I don’t know of even one person who gives a damn anymore. Do you? Don’t the networks care than millions upon millions are sick of their lies?? Apparently, not.

And here is the lesson. The Evil starts, and ends, at the very top. It only takes One Man to heap misery upon billions. Be it Rodger Ailes at Fox, Jeff Zucker at CNN, Phil Griffin at MSNBC, or the George Soros’ of the world,  etc. I’m not a religious person but, I can now see how the world can be ruled by Just One, the Antichrist.

“The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’”

Some equate Babylon with America. If that is true, while the merchants may weep ….. I won’t shed a single tear Will you?

Those idiots, like you, are too stupid to see that by supporting their ideals of “diversity” and “equality” what they really acquiesce to is an elite class of overlords to rule us all n equal and diverse subservience.
The greatest flaw in leftist populace thinking is that somehow government or elites will be benevolent and have the best interests of the people as their objective–you ae a fool and are the one who offers nothing.

Bob Marley: “Rasta don’t work for no CIA”. (Rat Race)

Funny to see the left – of all people – now defending the Deep State, with notable exceptions like Stephen F Cohen and Noam Chomsky. The fact that Glenn Greenwald is considered a right winger by some is unbelievable. Trump has little control over the situation. He reportedly had to ASK his own CIA Director – his own appointee – to meet with William Binney so that Binney could ‘splain to Pompeo that the DNC emails were leaked by an insider, not hacked by Russia, and that the January intelligence community report on the matter was a bunch of bullshit. After the one hour meeting, Pompeo declared his unwavering support for the “IC”.

This is as good a place as any to put this. That is a double dog secret nod of subservient respect to one of the true old heads around here.

I was, as many of you know, an enlisted aircrew member on AWACS longagofaraway. I met a few FBI types when I was asked to give a very special presentation (what we crewdogs called dog and pony shows) to a panel of reviewers from the Federal government. It was late 1980s, because the people chosen to be on that AWACS plane were some of the most carefully chosen people in the whole wing. I would and could name names, but perhaps it will suffice to suggest that having recently been chosen to be the 1st female evaluator radar tech (that is actually quite a bit more prestigious than red rope), I was positioned close to the Cuban, whose Latino good looks were only slightly offset by his military bearing bestowed upon him during a tour as a T.I. in Lackland, where they HAVE red ropes too.

I just want to say Happy Thanksgiving to all Yall TBPers who I’ve come to think of as my cyber community.

As the sloth character said to the mammoth and saber-toothed tiger characters in Ice Age. We are a strange herd.

SSS… I really thought Amy Winehouse had something special. I think her death a real tragedy to modern music. And a statement on how effective the war on drugs has been. The FBI director William Sessions was on that touring group I stood as “expert” on radar operation and capability. I understand what a piecing stare and intense listening consist of and I remember thinking that someone must really be trying to impress the FBI with how very diverse and integrated we were. Two blacks, three Latinos, five women and a random assortment of white guys who knew their jobs well. No idiots on that crew that day.

But, the war on drugs was ridiculous. And conning the American people into paying for weapons of war by pretending people running drugs were WAR WORTHY was a tremendous mistake.

I played a tiny little role in helping start that leak of funding from the Defense Department into Homeland Security long before that had been created.

Forgive me. It was actually B.K. and Alejandro who sold the guy on the capabilities of the AWACS radar. They understood how you looked into a field of radar “dots” and determined which were really low flying aircraft smuggling drugs into Texas or the Gulf States and how to vector in intercepts and all that. I could probably make your eyes cross with intense boredom explaining radar wavelength, carrier waves versus frequency pattern and so on, but really, that language of the fighter jock weapons controller was kind of mesmerizing. I could certainly do my part, but I didn’t have the suave demeanor those two had. No wonder one went into double dog secret world shortly after B.K. died in that Alaska crash.
RIP

I’m off to scout the deer woods. I have a very young deer hunter coming to take his first deer this weekend. Important things.

P.S. No syrup on my table today. I bought a small jar of organic agave nectar at the health nut store and it works okay, but I was SO counting on getting that in time for my son’s LAST (probably) Thanksgiving morning at Mom’s. Not that anyone should feel guilty.

I believe you had it right Stucky. This was conspired and orchestrated. First they agree on a plan for domination, then they use the Hegelian dialectic to get the masses to be grateful and compliant to the subservience they are given.
It had to be done this way. If they had started spying on us and molesting us at airports before 9/11 people would have revolted—but in the name of “security” ( especially most women I know) they will let their rights be trashed.
Same with our money system, fractional reserve banking, interest rate manipulation etc etc—there must be a scare, a perceived benefit or a crisis, then the solution is what the Overlords wanted all along……

Ya, but it begs the question why are the “masses” in what used to be the freest civilization on the planet (and possibly in its history) so easily led astray?

Someone once said,

“A Republic, if you can keep it.”

Well, you couldn’t keep it. I doubt those who have led the republic as far astray as they have would have been able to do so without the consent and in some instances, the encouragement, of a hefty percentage of the governed.

I thought you’d enjoy the hard work my Nick puts into making the place work. While I do what it is I do around here. Whatever that could be that someone ate, will eat, will wear, sit on, etc. And the dogs! Training a new Pyrenese this year after losing the JDAWG in such a terribly sad way has been hard. Mostly, however, this year has become a year of acceptance for me. Those who have died are dead. They do not try to intercede with any “big guy” about our lives. They do not burn in hell for being a despicable piece of human flesh who believed himself to be a special kind of demon and who was treated as one by our entire country. Charles Manson was a narcissistic asshole who parlayed his miserable existence into celebrity and fame. Him and Harvey. And Stallone and the other whores that have now been shamed for being exactly what they always said they were. UP FOR SALE to the highest bidder. Charlie didn’t want dollars; in my experience, the true psychotics never do. They want CONTROL.

Well, I digressed there, didn’t I? Anyway, Nick is building this really nice walk from the steps up the hill to the log house to the front porch, where we have my deer rifle sitting ready. (Not really, I’m kind of in cooking for the young man coming to visit., but I have a reputation to uphold here as bunnyslayer/bambikiller.)

I know how much hard work you put into selling the Jersey house and have no idea if you live in an old VW bus now or in a trailer park in the sticks, but thought I’d show off my thigh gap some more… now that I know I have one. (That really cracked me up, coyote saying something about thigh gap and I didn’t know what it is. Am still not sure I have it, but you decide.)

I prefer images these days that do not have my recognizable face. This face recognition stuff really scares me sometimes. Not in a “go to the cellar and sit in the corner way” but in a “what if they really are tracking us in a facial recognition database?” Shoot, we were working with some pretty sophisticated tracking tools at Tinker AFB in the early 2000’s to keep track of where all those lost thousand dollar hammers were mislaid. It really could be done.

And, like someone around here said not too long ago… if it COULD be done, it would already have been done.

RV visitors are the BEST kind.

Just go to Patton Junction (a real place) and ask Jason or his wife Christie how to get to that odd lady’s place out on YY who makes the kick-ass pie in a jar stuff from apples, berries and pumpkin. If nothing else, Jason will give you my phone number and you can look over all the displays he has in his taxidermy shop. This is HIS busy season, tanning hides and mounting heads and antlers for people. If you’ve ever wanted a dead bobcat or mountain lion, this is the place to visit. As far as giving you directions ahead of time? Well, the local grocer told me some guy who said he knew me from Oklahoma came to town and asked for directions to my home. The grocer said he didn’t know of anyone like that around here. I thanked him for sending some nosy nosenstein on their way. If I did not invite you, you are probably not welcome. My husband and I were discussing your backstory last night, RiNS. I think we both agreed it is a heavy thing to know you could not change a thing by doing what you were supposed to do; because you did exactly what you were supposed to do and the person who could have made a difference did NOT do what they were supposed to do.

And you are the only one who knows it or at least seems to care.

We knew in the 1980s when all of the military positions at the Maintenance Facility there at the Air Force Base went union and/or contract (same thing) that the quality of work could NOT remain high for long. We were uniformed personnel, actually working with the systems in the air as well as in the classroom. Once out of uniform and teaching in that same classroom, as a UNION STEWARD, earning a salary that would make your momma blush for chitchatting with young students for a few hours about radar theory and barroom brawls near Tyndall AFB, Florida which I may or may NOT have been involved in, I grasped that the low quality of instruction I’d been so worried about in the 1980s was, in the end, me. That’s how they get ya.

The disconnect between what politicians in Washington (or analogous seats of power to you?) want for the military (i.e., what benefits their corporate sponsors who, thanks to Bill Clinton, have rights like any citizen to lobby a congressman) and what the military leaders want (i.e., to make it to retirement so they can get the really big paycheck from one of the military industrial complex corporate sponsors) have managed to converge in the woods. Somewhere along the paths well travelled.

The Defense Department is poorly named now. It should be the Defense Dollars Distribution Cabinet Position. Or the Rumsfeld Memorial to Building 7.

It seems globalism is the father of many tragically crippled children around the world. Fortunately, so far, most of the negatives have been confined to the less powerful countries that don’t really matter.

This might be a strange place to interject this, guys, but… last night I caught a tidbit off the local “what substitutes for news” out here in Little Italy, Ozarks. I’m not quite far enough north to be out of the bootheel of Missouri, proper. The greater region which constitutes the former alluvial floodplain of the Mississippi River has some connective history that seeps into the flow of every local newscast. The Tri-State Region is sometimes the Multi-State Area. That is all because there was a time ocean once covered the southern United States to the edge of the low hills of Missouri, about 50 miles from my front door.

So, I heard on the news that Kentucky is the 4th highest state in FEMALE incarcerations for nonviolent crime. Ahem… is that strictly prostitution? Am I missing something? What is going on over there in Kentucky, Bea?

I think comparing mafia to flour falls flat (there’s some baking terms for ya…)

The flour may be a big part of the cake, but there are other things one might use to get a pleasant texture for a dessert. A smoothe mousse or an eggy soufflé?

So, while the mafia drug runners may always be part of the financing of the diplomatic buffoonery that changes boundary lines and is a boon for the map industry, the drug runners are not needed for the end result to come about. Someone will always find a way to get the money to do this insane shit.

If there is a way for some idiot to put themselves in a position to benefit from war no matter who wins, he will find a way to do it. So, if you are John McCain, and you are beholden to a very large military industrial community that has come to depend upon you to deliver big contracts for war machines to their door, AND then along comes Donald Trump who sees that people are getting paid good money all around him to do NOTHING but plot and strategize about political nonsense while there is WORK being done by Chinese people in factories making things people wear. Why isn’t anyone doing that here?

Should we stand in the front yard and complain? Citizens dealt with this in the 70s in Viet Nam. Veterans are still returning there and trying to find answers for their actions. Should we teach this insane and brutal history in our schools? Kids have zero direction now, how can such a heartless history inspire them? How can anyone say these actions mirror the attitude of its citizens? Did my parents condone this shit? Did I encourage my country to act in a way that I would never act? Many question marks, much information and no answers. Thanks Stucky, you always seem to make me punch the keys harder.

I used to sit at the foot of Old Glory, I’d awaken at dawns early light. To my surprise when I opened my eyes I was the victim of the great compromise. John Prine

Stucky, at what point do you think we STOPPED being taught that we might have to actually pull the damn plow at some point? At what point did we come to accept the idea that anything was ever supposed to be easy?

The reason Nick work so hard is because he likes to work hard. The reason I like to work with the animals is because I like to work with the animals. Neither type of endeavor is necessarily easy or without its negative aspects. But, sitting in a chair staring at a television or computer seems like it would be a lot harder to do day after day all day. I don’t think I could do it again. It put all that weight on me (snuck it right on, 2 to 3 pounds a year working in the cubicle/office world) and turned me into a bit of a diet soda junky. Now I have no diet sodas around but I keep a few Pepsi, Gingerale and sometimes 7up (Notice, these are “also ran” flavors of soda from the olden days when Coke did not MEAN soda. I actually prefer the taste of Pepsi over the other.)

So, I lost all that weight this year… around 60 pounds. I was hoping for 75, but seriously? I am a 56 year-old happily married lady who doesn’t need to catch a young buck. I am NOT a cougar. But, I do want to feel better and to shed a lot of the mental excess I’ve accumulated, as well.

Stucky, my Nick is blessed because of you. I think you made my late night trip to get an antacid (when the hell did that start?) a happy one for him. I’ll go snuggle him and see if I can rouse him a bit.

The “I Deserve A” generational leap did occur in the 1990s. Clintons. Again. I’m sure the number 23 is there as well. But, mostly, you will discover the supposed end of a Cold War, which gave the military industrial complex a real problem: who was going to buy all the bombs?

My son was born 1993. He witnessed 9-11 in second grade with an idiot teacher at a private school who turned on the television for her classroom to see what was happening. Then, the first F5 tornado ever recorded destroyed my workplace seconds after I left and followed me home to destroy homes for miles and miles on a quarter mile path less than a mile from my home, where my son and I were in a closet covered by a mattress. He was in 4th grade, I think. When he was in junior high, we were watching the economy of this country do insane things and he watched his parents become “those” kind of people who are leaving civilization and moving to the hills. By the time he was in middle school, his country was bombing people in Afghanistan and Iraq, so he literally has grown to adulthood in a crazy world full of some really violent things that suggest the peace and joy suggested by the merchant season we are in are all a bunch of bunk.

My son is one of the I Deserve A generation that ended up stuck with a mother like me. If he deserves it, it will be because he paid his hard knocks and managed to earn it.

Stucky,
Your start time point of 1954 for Vietnam is 13 years too late. Go back in the historical record to the Winter of 1941-42, when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and invaded S.E. Asia including Vietnam, then known as a colony of France and called French Indo China.

At the time the Vietnamese had been struggling for self determination against their French colonial masters for years. After the Japanese invasion, the only viable resistance group was headed by Ho Chi Minh and his Viet Minh resistance fighters.

Enter the OSS (precursor of the CIA) who supplied the Vietnamese with weapons, explosives, training and intel, so they could fight the Japanese occupiers more effectively. The Vietnamese under Ho Chi Minh agreed to this American game plan, under the promise by the American OSS officers that after the war, the French would not be allowed to re-institute their colony and that free elections would occur.

The war ended suddenly. Free elections were held in Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh and the newly elected Vietnamese government declared independence from France and the formation of the Republic of Vietnam.

Well, guess what? The American’s caved into French pressure and let them back into French Indo China, with massive military help provided by Uncle Sam! This was a stab-in-the-back of the Vietnamese by America. The Viet Minh just switched from fighting the Japanese, to continue the fight for independence against their unwanted French masters. The USA poured vast amounts of military equipment and hardware into Vietnam supporting the French. This came crashing down at a place called Diem Bien Phu where the French were slaughtered. They left Vietnam, even digging up their dead and taking them with them back to France.

So what did America do? They filled the void left by the French and carried right on through until 1975, when they high tailed it out of there with their tail between their legs. The Vietnamese were finally free from outside military interference, after 35 years of war and struggle. Thanks to American cow-towing to the French and cowardly turning on the Vietnamese.

If America had said NO to the double dealing French and supported the Vietnamese people in their goal of nationhood, the USA would have a solid and faithful friend/allie right to this day.

Stupid is – as stupid does.

EDIT: PLEASE take just a moment to look at Dulles’ bloodline kin. You will find Walt Disney and Lee Harvey Oswald about 3/4 way down the page. THIS should give the smarter TBP peeps a clue as to how things really work. Really think about what you are reading as you go through the list.

Poor summary of events in Chile, Stuck…Allende immediately started to hyperinflate the currency, planned to nationalize all business with the worthless currency, and began making up lists of enemies to be eliminated….Unfortunately for the hapless Allende, Pinochet found out he was one of those enemies, and decided to get proactive against the marxist thug. Pinochet also systematically eliminated Shining Path from Chile, which has been by far the most democratic and economically prosperous country in South America for the last 40 years, and has the smallest, least intrusive government in the West…An extremely happy ending!

I think your articles are really coming together nicely. I even appreciated the attempt at alliterating titular eponymous labelling.

(The next lesson obviously involves stringing nonsensical words together in a way that reeks of academia and peer review. One of the things that drew me to read TBP long years ago was the fresh approach of both Jim’s writing and tone to the crisis events the first couple years after Obama’s election and the country was mesmerized by the “First Black President” and all the folderol of THAT label. We were seeing our personal rights erode daily and people were discussing how awesome it was going to be to have a system of national health care finally and stop with the crazy health care costs. Boy, they hadn’t SEEN crazy health care costs yet, had they? Nonsensical words like folderol and eponymous tell the world you know how to use a thesaurus, as well as being appropriately the correct word as well as the right word.)

Not to worry…technology will solve what ails humanity. The rise of AI and the arrival of the “Singularity” will all but end mans reign of barbarism and terror. Once the AI GOD is empowered to rule a new era of human existence will began. An era of true peace and security where none will want for any of life’s necessities. Sickness, disease and even death will be eliminated. Humanity having ceased to war with itself will began its migration to the stars and will find millions of civilizations welcoming it to the Community of Worlds that also survived the long brutal struggle from molecules to immortal beings.
You doubt this …..read what the leading technologist and futurist are saying and they have the ear of the wealthy and powerful and they are planning our futures just as their type have for eons. Not possible, not likely you say. No matter….for they think otherwise and THAT is all that matters. You and I have no say in the direction they take us regards this and they know this because they know we have had little or no say in where existing elitists have taken us!

Lack of Context: the Cold War, which is a misnomer. It was mostly a series of global, hot wars by proxy or coups by proxy.

Omission of Inconvenient Facts: Iranian Prime Minister Mossadegh was indeed very popular at the outset (1951). By the time of the coup (1953), he had assumed near dictatorial powers by cancelling elections to the Majles (the Iranian Parliament), and his base of popular support had shrunk to members of the Tudeh (Communist) Party. Even the powerful clerics had abandoned him. It was Mossadegh himself who was primarily the impetus for the coup.

I’m not going through the article point-by-point, but you get my drift.

What DIDN’T Happen?

—-The Korean War didn’t go on. Ike got the truce that Truman had sought for 2 years and failed.

—-Open Skies failed. The Soviets rejected Ike’s offer for a Soviet delegation to fly over U.S. military installations if the Soviets reciprocated for an American delegation to do the same in the Soviet Union. The Soviets rejected it as “an American trick.”

—-A war with Egypt. Nasser seized the Suez Canal, and Great Britain and France asked Ike to help them take it back by force. Ike said no.

—-A war with China. Powerful congressmen and lobbyists wanted to prevent a possible Chinese invasion of Formosa by invading the coastal mainland of China. Because Ike knew from CIA U-2 flights over China that the Chinese were NOT planning such an invasion, he said no.

For these and many other reasons, Ike has a firm spot in my Top Five best presidents. Leadership counts.

If I may make a couple of comments;
1. There was prolific use of “we”, lots of that shit occurred before I was born, “we” inherit the good with bad I guess, from both today and yesterday. I am ok with that, “we” have done some bad shit, some necessary, some not. Which leads me to..
2. There is evidence we can gauge the notion that America is an Exceptional Nation by. One of which being: why the fuck does EVERYONE want to move here if we are not?
Once we establish high levels of immigration demand with low levels of emigration we can begin to analyze why, and it is a big fuckin list. Personal freedom and liberty born from the Enlightenment and English liberalism must be the starting point. Unfortunately, there is a dark side to personal freedom, no system is perfect, as you have pointed out repeatedly, because “we” are not.
That said, no system has matched ours for disseminating liberty, either nationally or internationally, and “we” can right the course of a wagon train driven off the trail by unscrupulous drivers.
It’s ok to be an American.

“My main point was to show that the U.S. meddles in elections throughout the world, for many years. That’s the overall context.”
—-Stucky

Whaa? I cited the specific example of Mossadegh in Iran, and you responded with that drivel. As I stated, Mossadegh CANCELLED elections to the Iranian Parliament. How in the fuck did we interfere in elections that never occurred?

Later, you said “But this article isn’t about the pros/cons about any country, or leader.” And I responded with specific examples of very positive leadership by Eisenhower – Korea, Open Skies, Egypt, and China. So far, the sound of crickets from you.

In another thread, you challenged me to read this article. Well, I have and found it to be absurd historical revisionism lacking in context and omission of pertinent facts. Your repeated fallback position is “word count limitations.”

Spare me. You accept the praise heaped upon you by others above, but go into a silly tap-dance act and silence when confronted with facts and legitimate criticism.

Meh.
Mossadegh was no saint, but he was at least Iranian.
What the f*** is the American excuse?
Let me point out that Iran has historically been against Russia – because they have conflicting interests in the zone between them.
American ham handedness has converted an “enemy of my enemy” Iran into best buds with Russia.
Ditto China: China and Russia have historically had problems due to Siberia. Many Russians are understandably nervous over the flood of Chinese money and immigrants all over Russia.
Yet American “end of history” bulls*** has pushed these two nations together. They used to shoot at each other as recently as 1969 where dozens died.
And even disregarding all that, the real question is: why?
Why make enemies of billions of people all over the world? Every wedding blown up by drone = hundreds, if not thousands of America haters. And not even “good” hate as in rightful fear of wrathful retribution, rather the hate applied to chickens***s who won’t even come down and fight face to face.
Why take a shining reputation – which was propagandized bulls***, but was believed nonetheless – and drag it into the mud while simultaneously bankrupting your own citizenry?
It is ever more clear that American foreign policy is just an excuse for the MIC and professional politicians to line their own pockets.
That’s why the US of A keeps getting into more conflicts despite not winning them or even gaining anything economically for Americans. Yes, one sole exception against a powerful nation like Grenada…

Criticism is a good thing if it’s mean to build up, not tear down a writer.

I feel like I’m living within a giant game of Risk.

I didn’t have time to read all of this, plus the comments when it was first posted. I don’t have time today, either, but I did anyway because I seriously would like to know why we keep getting involved in other countries business. We end up leaving them a bigger mess than they were in the first place. We have plenty of our own problems to solve.

Does it boil down to this quote?

“I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street.”

Is it a combination of fear of communism plus Wall Street? Is it about power? All three?

Now we’re bombing Somalia. My cousin is an officer in the Army reserves. She was sent to Somalia for a year beginning in the latter half of 2016. She came home last August, and can’t talk about why she was there.

I have to get busy cooking stuff for Thanksgiving and other domestic duties.

Taking care of aging parents is very exhausting. I feel for ya. I was very fortunate that my brother stepped into that role, as I still had kids in elementary school when mine began to fail. His kids were already grown and able to help him. We were 17 years apart in age.
