QUOTES OF THE DAY

“It is Pride which has been the chief cause of misery in every nation and every family since the world began. In God you come up against something which is in every respect immeasurably superior to yourself. As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you.”

CS Lewis

“As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness.”

Henry David Thoreau

“All of man’s misfortune comes from one thing, which is not knowing how to sit quietly in a room.” Blaise Pascal.

Beautiful sentiments to live by.

I agree with motley. Maybe we should form a crue? Bad pun.

To relate this to schools, I see all the push to build up students’ self-esteem has created students full of unearned pride.

Yet another mistake by the Left/Cultural Marxists, or intentional?

The thing that’s hilarious is watching all the feminists and beta males not being able to handle the students. While I may not be the most masculine man ever, I don’t take sh*t and the kids settle down and eventually listen. But, if it’s pointed out to other educators that their ideology is the cause of their ownsuffering, will they listen? Not a chance. They usually double down and try to oust those that can handle the students.

That may be the worst pride of all.
