TIME TO MOVE TO CHILE

This is before all other indirect taxes (VAT, property, local and consumption taxes etc). I bet the Muzzies aren’t paying 40% in taxes in Belgium.

Aside from the whole hating Norte Americanos desde los Estados Unidos because of that whole CIA overthrow of Salvador Allende episode, when the feces hits the rotating blade, probably not where I would want to be, I doubt any gringos will be welcome especially after the all mighty dollar becomes worthless, not to mention no right to keep and bear arms.

Agree with that – like the written style.

The US taxes world wide income. Moving to Chile will not help. You will still pay tax to Uncle, or you will be in deep doodoo. Move to Chile, take up Chilean citizenship, and renounce US citizenship will work. But if you carry US citizenship, you will pay US tax. If you work, you do get a significant earned income deduction. All other income, and then some, gets taxed.

US citizens are truly tax slaves, and there is no getting out of it.

Not so, probably half of Americans get a big unearned income bonus check from the Federal Government every Spring for not working or for working to make the 10% extravagantly more wealthy.

So if someone is going to move to a different country because they can’t stand the one they are in, why wouldn’t they renounce their citizenship in the old one and seek citizenship in their new one?

What benefits are they wanting to retain?

A buddy of mine lived in Belgium for a few years – he said their unemployment system was such that you worked a couple years then had a couple years of fully paid unemployment and did nothing but party and sit on your ass. So, I’m thinking the numbers are probably misleading.

Hey Jimmy Torpedo, what’s the tax hit like in Niccy?
You an expat, or still paying Sam while living there?

Llpoh, you confirmed what I’ve been interested to understand from some other seemingly knowledgeable sources.

Doug Casey calls U.S. and other western civ. taxpayers as milk cows for the Guv.,
and soon might become as beef cows, to be slaughtered.

These tax comparison charts are idiotic.
For one thing, there is the issue of what you (don’t) get for your taxes as an American.
Yes, taxes in France and Belgium are high.
On the other hand, your likelihood of getting f***ed over by enormous health care expenses is very low.
Your chance of starving or freezing to death as a poor elder are zero.
You actually get unemployment benefits.
Add in what Americans pay for health care and “retirement” on top of the “taxes”, and the number is quite impressively large.
