Kaitlin Marie celebrated her graduation from Kent State by posing with an AR-10. She stated that she wants the right to defend herself. She further schools people in the fact that an AR-10 is no more an “assault rifle” than a pistol, not having the ability to fire on automatic.
This is the liberal nightmare: an attractive, articulate woman not only standing up for the right to bear arms, but actually modeling with her weapon! Marie is actually making the exercise of Second Amendment rights fashionable, which is why she is such a danger to the left.
Predictably, liberals simply can’t understand the difference between a criminal having a firearm and a law-abiding citizen carrying one:

I think what Marie is doing is the very best way to fight for our Second Amendment rights in the court of public opinion. For liberals in big cities, it is a cultural thing: they simply aren’t used to seeing people carrying weapons. The more citizens of all walks of life post photos of themselves with their weapons, the more accepted it will be.
For once, I agree with the left – I want to see a lot of diversity. I want to see photos of young men with guns, women with guns, black people with guns, Hispanics with guns, Asians with guns, Jews with guns, all smiling role models who will normalize and even popularize the idea of gun ownership.
I hope she sleeps with it. Leftards with guns are scary.

Probably referring to the .308 versions of the AR being being on a larger sized receiver and upper, with the other calibers (even the big bores) being built on a standard AR receiver which is smaller in size than the .308 version.
I fully applaud her rebellious spirit, but one thing that needs to be understood and appreciated by all who support unlimited gun rights, is that the rights of private property owns supercede the rights of a gun owner on their property. So-called “public property” or “government property” such as Kent State University (and millions of other buildings, parks, national forests, etc. all around the nation) present complicated issues because everyone and no one is the actual “owner.” But everywhere else, from private businesses to private homes, to private land, the OWNER is the one who makes the RULES. You do not have a right to free speech, free exercise of your religion, gun possession, or any other right you possess on your OWN property (meaning you may choose to exercise those rights, but the property owner is absolutely within his/her right to ask you to leave and even within the law to have you thrown out or charged with trespassing). If a private property owner does not wish to allow you to bring your gun onto their property, to do so VIOLATES THEIR RIGHTS. Your ONLY choices are to obey his/her rules, or stay off/out.
In the context of Kent State, this girl VOLUNTARILY entered into a contract with the University in which SHE AGREED to OBEY their rules and regulations as a condition of continued attendance. She can be pissed all she wants about their gun policy, but SHE AGREED to follow it. Nobody FORCED her to attend, much like nobody forces you to patronize a business that will not allow your guns.
This critical point cannot be forgotten in this discussion about how the left wishes to destroy freedoms, how the government is always destroying freedoms, etc. For if we do not maintain our respect and protection of the private property rights of others, then there will be NOTHING left to base any of our own rights upon.
The Owner should have the right to refuse service, otherwise he is the Slave of the State.

She was obeying the rules, having graduated she was no longer a student and only students are forbidden to carry on campus. She verified with the police there that what she was doing complied with the law.

Although I am a big supporter of private property Rights I must respectfully disagree with you Mr. Liberty.
The ‘Right’ to be armed is not granted by the government. If it were, it would be a ‘Privilege’, and a Privilege granted is a Privilege that can be taken away.
The ‘Right’ to be armed is what is called a ‘Natural Right’, one that is given to us by our creator. The second amendment does not grant this Right, it recognizes that it is a gift from our creator.
Even if the gun-grabbers succeed in overturning the second amendment that would not change our inherent right to it. It would just be to say that we no longer ‘Recognize’ that it is a gift from God. In effect, it would be saying that they think the lord is stupid and that they in their infinite wisdom must correct his mistake.
How such people think that is going to work in their favor when their book of life is reviewed is a mystery to me.

As to the point at hand, our natural Right to firearms does not end at anyone’s property line, with or without a sign that says no guns allowed.
You could put a sign on your house that says ‘murder is legal in my house’, but if you kill someone there don’t expect that you can claim its OK because it’s your private property and point to your sign.
The big guy gave us all the Right to our lives too and like the Right to be armed, that Right doesn’t end at anyone else’s doorstep.

Sorry, if its my property, its my right to kick you off it if you do not respect my rules. That is my point. You do NOT have a right to enter or be on my property unless I SAY ITS OK. So YES, MY PROPERTY RIGHTS DO come before any of YOUR RIGHTS when you wish to enter my property. Don’t get me wrong. I respect your personal rights and likely would allow you on….but that is not the point I am making and I think your thoughts are wrong on the subject. Unless private property rights are respected above all else, then we lack the foundation for every other right.
