Unfortunately, children receive such poor educations in government schools, colleges have been turned to teaching remedial math / English / Marxism.

Here’s some simple math. Joe Blow gets a job after high school and earns $40K a year. College Boy goes into debt for 4 years at a conservative $80K. At the end of the 4 years Joe Blow is up $160K and College Boy is down$80K for a net $240K advantage to Joe Blow-that’s a quarter of a $million. Joe Blow has 4 years experience on the job and College Boy is now working for Joe. Grrrreeaaaatttt plan.

But that’s the point-HAVE A PLAN. Know what the market is for your degree before starting blindly down some path. 50% of degrees aren’t with the paper they’re written on. Read Robert Kiosaki’s books etc and have a plan. Maybe college, maybe not?

I wasted a lot of time and taxpayer dollars going to college. Thanks, GI Bill.

I used to agonize about not getting a degree. Blue Collar Man.
Nowadays, I still regret it a bit, strictly due to a lower than desired income level and current workload.
But, evidence is mounting that it was indeed, wasting my Pops $$$, as I floundered 2 terms of an attempt at Liberal Arts prerequisite classes, not knowing what to major in, while holding a part time job.
Homework and further study undiscipline resulted in C’s and D’s, and I bailed, and told Dad that until I could figure out what I wanted to do for a living, I couldn’t waste his tuition offerings.
Maybe skilled trades is the way to go, for some other flounders.

Losing Hope, and not being able to see or find an escape from mental prisons of anxiety, financial burdens, horrific war experiences, etc. is a difficult challenge that many unfortunate souls fail to emerge from.
Much like depression, it’s frustratingly difficult to simply snap out of it, or exert more effective effort.
Some are able; some not. The waves of challenges splash on everyone’s shores, to some degree.
Sympathizers of those who take their own life can only hope they attain some level of peace in an afterlife, if the choice to believe in such is selected.
Critics of the unfortunate souls, labeling them cowards: There but for the grace of God, you go.
Ought ye to pray no such fate befalls thee or any of the ones ye love.
