MIT Computer Model Predicts Dramatic Drop In Quality Of Life To 2020, “End Of Civilization” By 2040

Authored by Michael Snyder via The Economic Collapse blog,

Is humanity approaching a major turning point?

https://www.zerohedge.com/sites/default/files/inline-images/Apocalypse-Public-Domain.jpg?itok=homIhJdF

A computer model that was originally developed in 1973 by a group of scientists at MIT is warning that things are about to dramatically change.

If the computer predictions are accurate, our standard of living will start to decline dramatically around the year 2020, and we will witness the “end of civilization” around the year 2040.

Of course this is not the first time ominous predictions such as this have been made about our future.

For years, experts have been warning that we are heading for severe shortages of water, food and oil as our limited natural resources begin to run out.  For years, experts have been warning that our economic model is not sustainable and that we are heading for a historic collapse.  For years, experts have been warning about the alarming increase in seismic activity all over the planet and about the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Society is crumbling all around us, and the elements for a “perfect storm” are definitely coming together.

So maybe this computer model is on to something.

The name of the computer program is “World One”, and it was originally created by Jay Forrester

The prediction came from a programme nicknamed World One, which was developed by a team of MIT researchers and processed by Australia’s largest computer.

It was originally devised by computer pioneer Jay Forrester, after he was tasked by the Club of Rome to develop a model of global sustainability.

However, the shocking result of the computer calculations showed that the level of pollution and population would cause a global collapse by 2040.

The fact that the Club of Rome was behind Jay Forrester’s work is a major red flag, because David Rockefeller and other globalists founded the Club of Rome and it has always been used to further the globalist agenda.

Could it be possible that this computer model is a glimpse into the kind of future that the globalists believe is coming?

According to the model, life as we know it is about to change in a massive way

At this time the broadcasters addreses the audience: “At around 2020, the condition of the planet becomes highly critical.

“If we do nothing about it, the quality of life goes down to zero. Pollution becomes so seriously it will start to kill people, which in turn will cause the population to diminish, lower than it was in the 1900.

“At this stage, around 2040 to 2050, civilised life as we know it on this planet will cease to exist.”

The computer model appears to be primarily concerned with natural resources, pollution and population levels, but other factors should be considered as well.

In order to have “civilization”, people need to behave in a civilized manner, and we see more evidence that we are in an advanced state of social decay on a daily basis.

For example, one would think that priests would be some of the most well-behaved and “civilized” members of our society, but a new report about clergy child abuse in Pennsylvania is pulling back the curtain on incredible acts of darkness

Horrific details have emerged about predatory behavior by priests, including those who made young boys rinse their mouths with holy water to ‘purify’ them after they were forced to give oral sex and one young boy made to pose naked as Jesus while other priests took pornographic pictures and shared them with other clergymen.

A bombshell report by a grand jury in Pennsylvania has extensively detailed for the first time how 300 priests sexually abused more than 1,000 children and how church leaders, some of whom are still alive, covered it up.

Remember, these 300 priests are just from one state.  There are countless other incidents of abuse all over the country, and it is a crisis that appears to be escalating.

Earlier today, I came across a story about a 22-year-old man in Michigan that approached a group of young girls in a forceful manner, but fortunately they were able to fight him off

Four Michigan girls successfully fought off a man who allegedly intended to kidnap and have sex with one of them by punching him and flinging hot coffee in his face.

Bruce Hipkins, 22, of Tuscola County, Michigan, was charged with kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, assault and battery and criminal sexual conduct charges following the incident which occurred Friday night.

The thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted on a daily basis is wearing very thin, and it is all that really separates us from societal collapse, chaos and anarchy.

Ultimately, a computer model from 1973 is probably not going to be the best guide, but I do agree that enormous societal changes are heading our way very rapidly.  In fact, I wrote an entire novel about what America will start to look like as those societal changes begin to accelerate.  I am more convinced than ever that America is heading for a “perfect storm” that will bring us to our knees, but most Americans appear to have bought into the fiction that everything is going to be okay somehow even though it is exceedingly clear that virtually nothing about our society is sustainable over an extended period of time.  A day of reckoning is inevitably coming, and even a computer model from 1973 can see that.

For those of you that have stopped, it is time to start prepping again.  A major international debt crisis has started, war almost erupted in the Middle East last week, and civil unrest is starting to erupt in major cities all across America.

I believe that we are going to witness bigger changes over the next two years than we have over the last ten years combined.  The clock is ticking, and America’s date with destiny is fast approaching.

As always, let us hope for the best, but let us also get prepared for the worst.

This is so stupid. A computer model from 1973 is about as useful as a website from 1991. None of today’s politics is in that model. No cultural marxism. No measurement of the effects of (((nefarious groups))). No calculations of malinvestment in oil production (particularly tight oil). No data on mineral and metals mining yields. How can you possibly begin to calculate when the collapse is going to happen without looking at that?

That laughably inaccurate “model” was produced for the 1973 Rockefeller / Club of Rome report “Limits to Growth”, which followed the 1972 UN “Earth Summit” chaired by Rockefeller ally and fellow billionaire Maurice Strong. These “liberal” oligarchs have been pushing the eugenics / population control / global governance agenda for over a century.

Iconoclast421 is exactly correct that a computer model from 1973 is about as useful as a website from 1991. However, Mr. Snyder has a good point in that this particular news bite may have less to do with what scientists thought 45 years ago is going to happen 70 years in the future, and more to do with what the global elite have planned. But you know what they say about the best-laid plans of mice and men, not to mention first contact with the enemy.

That said, my personal observation has been, and continues to be, that a very large portion of humanity can sense that *something* is coming down the pike. Something big. Something that should prompt unassing the A.O., except of course that may not even be possible. What that something is varies wildly, depending on the beliefs and mindset of the person in question. Some think that it will be the collapse of the global false economy. Others think that it will be WWIII. Others see the first ever civil war in America coming, sooner than later. Some think it will be the “Great Harvest” and the return of Christ. Others, the return of Niburu and/or the Anunaki. Or maybe it is the coming of the Age of Aquarius. And in many cases, it’s a combination of two or more of those things.

Personally, I can feel it too. I have absolutely no idea what to expect, and it is my general disposition that expectations are pointless. Though I am willing to bet that it will probably not be the Spanish Inquisition, and I’m not particularly worried about Anonymous, either. Beyond that, my focus is on being as flexible, mobile and adaptable as possible. Whatever happens, those of us that remain are going to be needed to help pick up the pieces and, most importantly of all, help other people understand not just what happened but WHY it happened (allowing people to claim the authority to engage in criminal behavior just because some people voted at them, or they had the ‘mandate of Heaven’, or whatever other broken-ass excuses they have) and how to prevent this shitstorm from happening again.

In defense of the article the climate change denying meteorologists say by 2020 we will be in a solar minimum. Last one saw a mini ice age. By 2040 a good chunk of world’s humanity should all be a shade of brown, and subsequently a lower mean IQ than we currently are. Hard to imagine with the current mass stupidity. Then there’s the currently shaking Yellowstone. No quality of life if she decides to blow. Finally, could any of my fellow old farts have imagined buying bottle and filtered water 30…40 years ago?

It won’t be the end of civilization. It’ll be the end of Western civilization as we know it, but life will go on albeit at a much lower standard of living. This is old news and was forecast by Strauss & Howe’s “Fourth Turning” (2028 to 2033) and Martin Armstrong’s ‘Socrates’ program (2032.)

Amerika emerged relatively unscathed from the Second World War whereas most other countries were bombed back into the Stone Age. The Marshal Plan helped rebuild those countries that were later to become America’s customers. Amerika’s war production factories switched over to consumer goods, the demand for which was aided by Edward Bernays’ marketing propaganda.

The U.S. also stole most of the gold that the Nazis had stolen, and that wealth temporarily propelled the U.S. far ahead of other nations until eventually the undeserved prosperity of the 1950’s and ‘60’s began to run out of steam. President Nixon defaulting on the dollar in 1971 by “closing the gold window” signaled the end of Amerika’s good times. Debt creation unrestricted by gold helped to cushion the blow, but wealth was now flowing to Asia along with well-paying jobs.

Reversion to the mean is a bitch as we’re beginning to see in the breakdown of civilized behavior.

If technology stayed at 1973 levels, then the model *might* be somewhat useful. Fortunately for all of us, humans are really good at figuring out how to make the pie bigger and squeezing out more efficiency from commodities like oil.

The term “fossil fuel” was coined in the 1950s when not much was known about the nature of naturally-occurring hydrocarbon products. Environmentalists have used this misconception about naturally occurring oil to their advantage; hence, the now-discredited concept of “peak oil”.
Oil is abiotic in nature, being produced deep within the earth by yet-unknown processes. Russian oil interests have been drilling deep wells, as much as 30,000 feet deep and coming up with oil deposits–far deeper than that of decayed plant and animal materials.
It turns that many of our depleted oil wells are “filling back up”; oil is migrating from deep within the earth, upward to many of our present drilling sites.
There are certain interests that do not want to see oil as a plentiful, renewable natural resource–FOLLOW THE MONEY…

Whether oil is abiotic or not is irrelevant if it is being extracted faster than it replenishes; which is the case since EROI has dropped from about 30:1 to 3:1 in 100 years.

BL,

Hydrogen is NOT in of itself an energy source like coal and oil. The NET energy required for splitting the water molecule liberates ZERO NET ENERGY. It takes as much energy input and output received. THEREFORE-NO NET ENERGY. Forget about hydrogen. See 14:30 of the following.

Steve- It is in use TODAY. Per energy.gov, fuel cell power plants are located in 43 states, California has the largest number of stationery fuel cell generators while Conn and Del have the largest power stations 14.9MW and 30MW. Many railroads and municipalities have fuel cell back up systems in place now. There are over 11,000 hydrogen fuel cell powered forklifts operating in warehouses and distribution centers in at least 26 states. Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are available for sale today and there are h2 fuel stations in the test markets of San Francisco and LA………so your point is?

I can’t speak to all of the models in the link, but the first electrolyzer consumes as much electrical energy as the average heating value of the hydrogen produced. And if you then use your hydrogen to create electricity with a fuel cell, the efficiency loss means you are a net loss on the experience. Same deal if you want to run your car on the stuff; a net loss on electrical energy.

Of course not. But it takes less energy to extract and distill a gallon of gasoline than the chemical energy contained therein.
The equipment -at least the examples you provided- represent a net loss of energy to get the hydrogen and convert it into useful work (electricity generation or mechanical).

RD- (A) Not true. (B) It’s all about carbon emissions going forward which will be highly controlled . (C) That is where natural gas/homes and LNG/cars and trucks comes in to power fuel cells.
h2 fueling stations will provide h2 produced using NG if I’m not mistaken. You won’t have a choice due to carbon restrictions Dawg, that is why oil is so last century.
