Postludes & Preludes: The Show Goes On

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

Due to another commitment, this blogger missed Trump’s live State of the Union address on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. But in watching the pundits on both sides of the aisle afterwards, highlights from the speech, as well as the instant poll results – it immediately appeared to have been an overall win for the president.

According to polls by CBS and CNN, 76% of viewers approved of the speech, with 72% appreciating Trump’s ideas on immigration, and even those in the media were “stunned by the State of the Union’s appeal to both sides”.

Although the president did take further ownership of the economy, he also attempted to insulate himself against future financial woes and conflicts at home and abroad when he said:

…and the only thing that can stop it are foolish wars, politics or ridiculous partisan investigations. If there is going to be peace and legislation, there cannot be war and investigation.

Furthermore, Trump’s statements on immigration, socialism, and late-term abortion, made his political opponents appear as vampires in the sun.

So – given all that, yours truly wanted to timestamp some perspectives and predictions for posterity by posting the following on a thread of a previous piece:

… if Trump were real, and if the past is any indicator – then watch for a narrative changing event to occur soon; very likely in the forthcoming 10 days before Trump’s next government shutdown deadline.

Usually, these false flags will simultaneously change the national conversation while providing advancement for the establishment’s agenda; whatever that may be. Mass shootings are a common “go to” because they get covered by all of the media at once and – at the same time, allow the talking heads to promote gun control measures.

But it could be any scandal, leak, indictment, or brushfire abroad that might provide political cover and/or set loose the dogs of war.

Watch. Whatever happens, or doesn’t happen, might be illuminating. We’ll see, because time reveals all things.

So the next morning, with one eye on the headlines, I decided to do some more research by perusing the full text of Trump’s SOTU speech, while cross-referencing news clips and highlight videos. In so doing, it appeared the president pulled two very smooth fast ones on his political adversaries during his address.

First, Trump inspired his opponents to stand and applaud his remarks on “family leave” before, in the same breath, excoriating their embrace of infanticide:

To help support working parents, the time has come to pass school choice for America’s children. I am also proud to be the first President to include in my budget a plan for nationwide paid family leave — so that every new parent has the chance to bond with their newborn child.

There could be no greater contrast to the beautiful image of a mother holding her infant child than the chilling displays our Nation saw in recent days. Lawmakers in New York cheered with delight upon the passage of legislation that would allow a baby to be ripped from the mother’s womb moments before birth. These are living, feeling, beautiful babies who will never get the chance to share their love and dreams with the world. And then, we had the case of the Governor of Virginia where he basically stated he would execute a baby after birth.

Secondly, the president thrashed socialist Venezuela before resolving that “America will never become socialist”; as the cameras revealed newly-elected congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders both squirming and grimacing in the audience:

Two weeks ago, the United States officially recognized the legitimate government of Venezuela, and its new interim President, Juan Guaido.

We stand with the Venezuelan people in their noble quest for freedom — and we condemn the brutality of the Maduro regime, whose socialist policies have turned that nation from being the wealthiest in South America into a state of abject poverty and despair.

Here, in the United States, we are alarmed by new calls to adopt socialism in our country. America was founded on liberty and independence –- not government coercion, domination, and control. We are born free, and we will stay free. Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country.

They never saw it coming.

Another aspect to Trump’s speech had to do with “choice” in that it was referenced on three occasions at the beginning of his address and four times at the close.  He stated these exact sentences in order; the first three during his open and the final four at the end:

The decision is ours to make.

We must choose between greatness or gridlock, results or resistance, vision or vengeance, incredible progress or pointless destruction.

Tonight, I ask you to choose greatness.

We must choose whether we are defined by our differences — or whether we dare to transcend them.

We must choose whether we will squander our inheritance — or whether we will proudly declare that we are Americans. We do the incredible. We defy the impossible. We conquer the unknown….

This is our future — our fate — and our choice to make.

I am asking you to choose greatness.

In these statements, the word “decision” was stated once, followed by the word “choose” five times and “choice” a single time for a grand total of seven (7) references to the fork-in-the-road which precedes either “greatness or gridlock”.

Is it reality? Or reality TV?

Is there a difference?

Because, it seems, just as The Most Interesting Man in the World has parlayed his reality television experience to optically outwit his opponents from the time he descended the elevator to announce his candidacy, and right up through the current border wall stalemate – the show goes on.

In fact, if optics are everything in an electronic world, one must admit Trump is an undeniable magician; especially with the ladies.  A real snake charmer in fact. First, he got his harem to show up looking like hoodless klansman and in obvious deference to his irresistible Caucasianness. Then he got them to stand and applaud right on queue.

Not bad for a night’s work. It was even entertaining after the fact.

Definitely a good show.  So good in fact, an opinion writer for the Wall Street Journal called the president’s State of the Union a “masterpiece” and the “The Longest Day for Trump’s Adversaries”:

On Tuesday Mr. Trump enlarged the public’s idea of himself and his presidency, and in proportion diminished his enemies. That was his most effective stroke on Tuesday night: to make the left seem to be lost in irrelevant obsessions and guilty of misinterpreting—falsifying—America and its values.

He redrew the battleground, leading the discussion abruptly away from progressives’ preoccupations with race and sex. He redefined himself in a more civilized light and sought to lend credibility and bipartisanship to his “Make America Great Again” theme by evoking American history and summoning the better angels. He fetched back to the 20th century’s binary moral perspectives, to the victorious fight against Nazi Germany and to the Cold War against communism.

But Trump’s enemies would not go quietly into that good night.  On Wednesday, the day after Trump’s State of the Union, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff announced a “broad investigation” of all things Trump “beyond Russia”.  Schiff said the investigation would:

allow us to investigate any credible allegation that financial interests or other interests are driving decision-making of the President or anyone in the administration. That pertains to any credible allegations of leverage by the Russians or the Saudis or anyone else.

It appeared Trump’s adversaries had made their choice and, in response, the president called Schiff a “political hack” engaged in “presidential harassment” .

Now, at this point, if the reader recalls, Trump also gave the Democrats a “choice” immediately after they won the U.S. House in the November 2018 Midterm Elections. The day after, he tweeted:

If the Democrats think they are going to waste Taxpayer Money investigating us at the House level, then we will likewise be forced to consider investigating them for all of the leaks of Classified Information, and much else, at the Senate level. Two can play that game!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 7, 2018

Therefore, also on the day after Trump’s SOTU, NBC news tweeted that the Department of Justice (DoJ), at the request of Republican Senate Judiciary Committee member Ben Sasse, was revisiting the prosecution of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein:

JUST IN: Senate Judiciary Cmte. member Sasse says the US Justice Dept. has opened an investigation into allegations that dept. attorneys  may have committed professional misconduct in the manner in which the [Jeffrey] Epstein criminal matter was resolved.

— NBC Politics (@NBCPolitics) February 6, 2019

Of course the FBI head at that time was Robert Mueller, and Ben Sasse had written into his original letter this little gem:

The fact that federal prosecutors appear to have crafted a secret, sweetheart deal for this child rapist should enrage moms and dads everywhere

Then on Thursday, February 7, 2019 it was reported that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff had “hired officials with experience at the National Security Council” for the expanded investigations into Trump; to which the president responded:

….The Dems and their committees are going “nuts.” The Republicans never did this to President Obama, there would be no time left to run government. I hear other committee heads will do the same thing. Even stealing people who work at White House! A continuation of Witch Hunt!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 7, 2019

A witch hunt “continuation”, indeed, because the day BEFORE Trump’s SOTU speech, it was announced Trump’s inaugural committee and campaign backers were being subpoenaed  by New York Southern District prosecutors:

The subpoena escalates the inquiry into the Trump inaugural committee, which involved several of the president’s biggest campaign backers, and is one of several investigations into Mr. Trump’s associates. Special counsel Robert Mueller is separately investigating whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 U.S. election, which the president and Moscow have denied, and Manhattan federal prosecutors are probing the Trump Organization, the president’s family business.

To summarize: The day before Trump’s State of the Union address, Manhattan lawyers expanded their investigation of the President.  Then, during his speech, Trump said: “If there is going to be peace and legislation, there cannot be war and investigation”; as he offered his political opponents a choice between greatness or gridlock.

Then, the next day, House intelligence committee head Adam Schiff announced the expanded investigations into Trump; followed by Senate Republicans opening an investigation into accused pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s kid-glove treatment by Robert Mueller’s FBI; all followed by the House Intelligence Committee’s hiring of National Security Council spooks to take down Trump.

Undeniably, the U.S. Intelligence community’s operation against Trump is still going strong.

Tit for tat? Or a reality TV show starring rats?

Stay tuned.  We’ll be right back.

Great observations showing the present tit for tat war that is going on between Trump and his enemies.
I’ve grown tired of waiting for Trump to show his hand, I’m almost with Stucky who says he never intended to fulfill his promises, but one thing I’ve noticed; the Liberals are self destructing before our eyes; just witness the insanity of AOC who by her New Green Deal, wants to end the airline industry to save our planet.
Or, try this one on for size:

I’m not going to say it’s now or never, I will just have to be content with waiting this out with the rest of you. Maybe the 15th will be the day all will be revealed. One thing I know; it is no longer politics, it is a war for who will determine the future of America.

Most definitely. And if he were going to do it, now would be the time, don’t ya think? Especially in the wake of his well-received SOTU and with senators like Rand Paul on his side sounding the alarm on Twitter:

Justice is supposed to be blind. Why is it that an admitted liar like James Clapper perjured himself to Congress and got off scot-free? But if you’re somehow associated with @realDonaldTrump, then they will pursue you relentlessly? This shouldn’t be a one-way street!

It seemed like a natural role for him to play a selfish jerk in the remake of Abre Los Ojos, the prelude to The Matrix. The American meme of silly, goofy smiles killed the final scene. Instead of a climactic leap of faith, Cruz turns the scene into an Adam Sandler finale. Buzzkill. Then again, he never got the movie off the ground, he can’t act like the natural jerk he is. I guess he thought it was too much of a stretch.

Agreed, great observations. I don’t think Trump has internalized the supply vs demand aspect of immigration. He talks about legal vs illegal and criminality. But he doesn’t get what made immigration one of the big planks in the populist movements of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and that was the impact of unbridled immigration on LABOR. If you are a member of the productive class (ie working your ass off to get by) you should be for restricting and regulating immigration because of the impact it has on your wages, benefits and ultimately job security.

I thought that Trump, when blocked by Pelosi on giving the SOTU, should have gone to the Alamo or maybe Independence Hall in Philly. That was wrong……Trump waited and then gave the speech with all the pomp and circumstance in the House Chamber. It was glorious and as the article shows Trump was masterful at getting the commie rats to reveal themselves. Pelosi did not want him to give the speech because while a mafia princess evil commie, she is smart enough to know Trump should not be underestimated. AOC/Bernie/Schiff etc have not figured that out yet.

Remember Trump knows exactly what Obama/Hillary/DOJ/FBI/CIA et al did……eventually, it will come out and while I wish Trump would just arrest them and set up military tribunals after declaring the Dem party domestic terrorists…..the 4th Turning moves at its own pace….but it is moving.

“I thought I liked PRESIDENT Trump, turns out I don’t…

Tuesday night OUR PRESIDENT chose to spend his time giving a State of the Union Address that championed every thing progressives hate. He spoke about the sanctity of life, about how children are a precious gift made in the image of God. He spoke about the greatness of America and how her sacrifices around the globe have saved millions of lives and raised the living conditions of many millions more. He spoke of the hypocrisy of those who have armed guards and castle walls to hide from the American citizens they abuse, while protecting dangerous illegals and striving to keep our border left wide for their entry. And he spoke of our GOD GIVEN BIRTHRIGHT OF FREEDOM, and made the firm commitment to keep the political satanism of socialism out of our nation. He had the audacity to do this while facing a white clad wolf-pack in sheep’s clothing who despise him. Head held high, unapologetic, unafraid, undaunted, PRESIDENT Trump put his foot down and proclaimed America shall remain God honoring, safe, and free.

I thought I liked PRESIDENT Trump, turns out I don’t….I love him.”

Mary,

Yea, I did. It is an amazing story of an amazing man who perfected the art of long distance revenge killing.

Jack Hinson and his family paid a horrific price for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. They were victimized and brutalized by the murderous invaders. Through “payback” Hinson made over 100 families and countless men around his kills understand the cost of war…what he and his experienced, a cost that had ripped out his and his wife’s and children’s hearts, he returned that indescribable pain over and over and over.

What they did to his two son’s is beyond words. I cannot imagine what that did to him.

His revenge was, in my opinion, an inevitable bloody double edged sword cutting both ways. I say that because I believe God did not make us to do what we do to one another in war…any war.

With every kill there is a cost…with over a 100 kills…I believe poor Jack Hinson paid as much as he “paid back.”

As a lifelong Civil war buff it is a story I hope is never repeated, but I ear it will be in Civil War 2.

Uncola,

I believe in evolution…of my political beliefs, fears and hopes…especially about Trump. Fairly early on you put out the three possibilities of who Trump has to be…something like:

1. A REAL NATIONALISTS/POPULIST
• Or at least ‘his’ version of one.

2. A FOIL FOR THE GLOBALISTS
• They are and will continue to play him, pop the Everything Bubble on his watch and he and the Right will take the fall for it.

3. JUST ANOTHER TROJAN HORSE
• He has agreed to take the fall for a 2020 Socialist take over or will take the Marshall Law lead to lead U.S. to NWO control.

Here are the 3 stages of my Trump Evolution:
1. GIDDY JOY
• Happiness and ecstatic relief over Hillary being defeated.

2. REALIZATION
• Of all three Trump possibilities.

3. ACCELERATED PREP
• No matter who he really is the Shit Storm is really, really coming SOON!

You said (something like) in a past post: “No one who says they know which of the three Trump really is…knows 100%, at this time. I agreed.

However, I slipped to JUST ANOTHER TROJAN HORSE when I dug into Barr’s past. To be honest I didn’t even remember him as I spent decades avoiding politics, but what he does…or doesn’t do…will be a huge tell and a huge tell soon.

Trump spoke about the sanctity of life but does he mean it? I find it hard to believe that somebody who said this “We had finished dinner. We’re now having dessert. And we had the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that you’ve ever seen and President Xi was enjoying it…So what happens is I said we’ve just launched 59 missiles heading to Iraq and I wanted you to know this. And he was eating his cake. And he was silent,” really cares about the sanctity of human life. And what about his sword dance with the head choppers in Saudi Arabia?
He’s made a firm commitment to keep socialism out of our nation but has no problem with the central committee of private bankers at the FED running the economy.
For some reason his speech brings to mind the words of my platoon sergeant: Baffle them with bullsh*t.

In his State of the Union address Tuesday, Trump asked Congress to pass a law prohibiting late-term abortions.

‘We must build a culture that cherishes the dignity and sanctity of innocent human life,” Trump said Thursday. “All children born and unborn are made in the holy image of God. Every life is sacred and every soul is a previous gift from heaven.’

Supposedly, Trump recited the sinner’s prayer with Paula White in the early 2000s.

She also prayed at his inauguration and has stated the following:

‘I know that Donald is saved,’ White told NBC News in a pre-taped interview. ‘He’s absolutely — received Jesus Christ as his lord and savior.’

Plus, it appears now Trump even lives in her house in Washington D.C.

So there’s that, too.

this was a mistake on the part of the republicans to not start pushing for people to put pressure on state/local officials to cut spending & taxes at their respective levels of govt so that this would not happen–
however, it is not right that taxpayers in some states are subsidizing taxpayers in other states by allowing the write off of state/local taxes but taxpayers who are losing their deductions should either work to cut their taxes or sell out & move to a low tax state–

Consider too that this handful of failed Prog loving states is obviously using this tax money to support illegals and huge welfare scams. Sanctuary cities, sanctuary states with welfare and free school and medical for millions of illegals pumped in to steal congressional seats from other states is a huge and largely unrecognized issue.
I am certainly not the only one who believes paying over $10,000 per year in real estate taxes is nuts and is the problem of those people in those states. Letting some happy Prog fuque in “NYC” deduct $50K in state and local tax so he can then donate to prog fuque causes and candidates without consequence allows them to live in a Never Never Land of no consequence for their stupid ideas and stupid voting.

I guess you didn’t read Admin’s article exposing this very thing early on. They sold you the loss of personal exemptions with the higher standard deductions. Admin said the elimination of personal exemptions was going to be hard to overcome with a few deductions and tax credits. Your advantage has been spread out among a whole bunch of unfortunate people who might not have a family or mortgage.

The current trend in the USA is more single households; divorced or never-married people scraping by with a few cats.

“How easy it is to make people believe a lie, and how hard it is to undo that work again!” Mark Twain

For those here who still believe in Trump I wish they could answer a few questions. Such as he rails against socialism but has no problem with the Fed setting interest rates. If he actually believed in capitalism why doesn’t he let the market set interest rates? During the campaign he mentioned that the Fed was keeping rates low to benefit Obama but now he criticizes Powell for raising rates. Aren’t these low rates just socialism for the rich and theft from savers?
He continually talks about a wall to stop illegal immigration but does he ever mention enforcing E-Verify? In fact the Washington Times reports that “Just five of the 565 companies in President Trump’s business empire are signed up to use E-Verify, the government’s best tool to weed illegal immigrants out of the workforce, according to a Washington Times analysis that suggests the president could personally be doing more on that front. ” Perhaps if those who hired illegal immigrants were subject to the law fewer illegals would come here. But Trump even commuted the sentence of a slaughter house executive whose company had hired almost 400 illegals. So the free spending “conservative” Trump wants to spend our money on a wall while leaving companies hiring illegals to face no punishment? Socialism (government protection) for the big boys and crony capitalism for the rest.
Why are so many swamp creatures in his administration? John Bolton is not only a swamp creature but a failure. He was a leading proponent of the Iraq War. How can he still have a job? This draft dodger thought the Iraq War would be a cake walk. He helped depose a counter force to Iran but now complains Iran has too much power. How can anybody believe the Trump flim flam when he appoints Bolton? And now Elliot Abramsof Iran Contra fame is back as a special envoy to Venezuela.

Best move with down votes is to ignore them. If you write what you believe and substantiate your claims with facts then there is always going to be someone who opposes you. That’s the down vote. I don’t care how sensitive, discerning, and inoffensive you write there is always going to be someone who wants to rain on your parade, it’s just the way things are in a polarized and rhetorically amped culture.

We all knew that Trump was not Clinton, those were your only choices, so no matter how bad he might be- and he’s a failure in pretty much everything except for pissing off the progressive zombies-he was just a little less terrible than the American Bathory.

A man who cannot keep his family together at least until his children have grown to adulthood is not trustworthy and cannot be counted on to keep a promise about anything. Knowing that before, how can anyone be disappointed after? I would have been shocked if he had kept any of his promises based on that single judgement, but YMMV.

What really floored me was the analysis by the NPR folks after the speech, who basically said it was horrible; they sounded like CNN redux. Admittedly, I haven’t seen much of NPR since I used to watch the McNeil/Lehrer Newshour many, many years ago.

…NPR’s Fact Check is an analysis, commentary and opinion piece. There’s nothing wrong with that on its own. That’s an important role of the press. But publishing a piece like this as a ‘fact check’ is not just fiat news. Interesting article, Stuck. Personally, I thought it was weak in that there are far more effective ways to disassemble Trump.

In his 2nd paragraph, the author says watching Trump address the U.S. Congress is “akin to watching Chewbacca trying to play Hamlet”. Yet, he failed to mention the Star Wars Bar Scene that is now the U.S. House

In his 7th paragraph, the author conflates the “centrality of Russia” to the “seminal struggle for the future of humanity” while in his closing sentence, he states his desire that the world be “liberated” from the “hegemon erected as a monument to might is right.”

Can the author have it both ways? Is it Trump who keeps provoking Russia?

It is also interesting how comparisons keep surfacing here between today’s headlines to 1930’s Spain; including, again, in the article you just posted. Except, therein, the author compares 1930s Spain to Venezuela – and, seemingly, even referencing Trump as the fascist interloper in Latin America as Hitler and Mussolini were to Spain.

Now that is a fascinating comparison, indeed.

In light of all the recent comparisons here, I keep thinking about the Spanish Civil War and, in particular, one quote that summarizes that complicated conflict for me, personally. It is from the historian Antony Beevor’s “The Battle for Spain: The Spanish Civil War 1936–1939”, chapter 21:

The war was cast by Republican sympathizers as a struggle between tyranny and freedom, and by Nationalist supporters as communist and anarchist ‘red hordes’ versus ‘Christian civilization’

Yep. The more things stay the same, the more they change.

She was not a bad English teacher, I would be one, but she was unique. I spent a part of her class sitting on the floor next to Maria, a classmate from elementary school. Mrs. Trambley tolerated that since I was a. not a problem student b. a top scorer on tests.

Mrs. Trambley was unorthodox as far as white schools such as Austin but fairly typical for Hispanic schools like El Paso High or Jefferson. What she did for us that no other teacher did was encourage us to go see a live play at the Chamizal Theater. I didn’t know until I read her brief bio that was her passion.

If I could check the Austin records, I might find her records to verify she was there back then even if they left her name off.

“America was founded on liberty and independence –- not government coercion, domination, and control.”

Could I ask one last question about this speech? Does anyone actually believe that the people who founded this country would approve of the policies of Trump or any recent presidents, whether democratic or republican?

How about this from George Washington: “It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world”. So what about Trump stating that we have to illegally remain in Syria to protect Israel? What about Trump in bed with the Saudis? He stands with the people of Venezuela in their quest for democracy but he also does the sword dance with the head chopping dictators of Saudi Arabia.

Someone please explain how you can support this man without saying that at least he’s better than Clinton.

I do believe there are many who do.

Someone please explain how you can support this man without saying that at least he’s better than Clinton.

Practically speaking, many of the same folks would say “better than Clinton” was/is enough.

Isn’t it interesting how this exactly corresponds to what Trump’s opponents want to do on the national level? With Trump and Pence gone, Pelosi takes the reins.

I just watched an all-star panel of elite journalists on MSNBC, including the New York Times’ twice pulitzer-winning Nicholas Kristof, discuss a set of data points whereby Trump, the Saudis, and the National Enquirer colluded to take down Bozo & the Washington Post; because that’s what dictators around the world are doing, dontcha know.

Because, after all, as anyone watching the recent Superbowl would know, and overlaying the subdued voiceover of America’s most popular actor: Democracy Dies in Darkness.

It’s all so perfect, it HAS to be real, right? Especially, given the timing and all.

If so, then why do I feel like Rip Van Winkle who just woke up in Orwell’s Oceania? Why can’t I shake that Movie of the Week feeling?

OMG… I told my husband the other day the Isaiah Five Ness is startling. Your dystopian marriage of Orwell to the headless horseman gave me chillbumps.

(Irving’s fables have a certain fish out of water theme to them, do they not? Is Ichabod related to Rip? :/)

I like the tone of Douay-Reims, but I include the link only to make sure you know the site exists. Different interpretations serve the purpose of different subsects of the Biblical reading type, but to someone who grasps the potential of being able to QUOTE scripture in any version available, having such a feast of words to choose from to quote is splendid.

Woe to those who try to wake Rip Van Winkle before His time.

20 Woe to you that call evil good, and good evil: that put darkness for light, and light for darkness: that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.
21 Woe to you that are wise in your own eyes, and prudent in your own conceits.”

A serious question, old platform snitch. And others feel free to pipe up, if you are of the philosophical bent and understand my question.

I took a couple of philosophy classes in my quest for enlightenment. (A plus plus plus). During one I learned the difference in “legend” and “myth.”

Legend is a truth that explains something about our reality. Icarus’s attempts to touch the sun ended badly. That is why we aren’t allowed winged horses any longer.

Mythology can also be considered to be “truthful.” It is why we look to the Prophets and the Poets for guidance.

This site has all sorts of interesting versions of all sorts of religious texts, searchable if you know how the algorithms looking at words think. I believe you do.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah+5&version=DRA

So, returning to the topic at hand: the remnant.

Are we legend or are we myth?

By the way, the abrupt ending that suggests reading time was wasted should be used sparingly.

Seriously, myth, legend and fable. Are they all in the “Truth Industry?”

(I’ve become intrigued with how you can paste some words together and come up with a whole new thing. Grace County Pastor works in the “Truth Industry” along with Jim Quinn and Marc Moran and a big, surly lumberjack looking dude with a heart of gold and a hand in his pants and even a few scraggly looking taggeralongers like me, thee and we and even ec.

The problem was the dumber monkeys kept getting themselves impaled. The comparatively smarter ones with organizational skills capable of stringing a few concepts together decided to kill off all the unicorns for the common good.

RE: legend vs. myth

Perhaps legends are mostly true with some fabrications thrown in for good measure. Whereas myths are essentially fantasies containing elements of truth.

And given the vain imaginings of mankind, it could be time determines both.

Twilight Zone, indeed. The guy in Mark’s video above claimed Pelosi was going overseas to meet with NATO bosses before she took over the country. Good thing Trump stopped her before reopening the government in time for his State of the Union speech.

And how about Mr. Clean on Capitol Hill? He was downright defiant. I haven’t seen that kind of aggression since he played in the 1991 Rose Bowl. One wonders if he’s still making plays? If so, defensive or offensive?

Popcorn sounds good.

this article could just as easily go over on the ocasio thread but since the ahole who is the subject of the article pounds on trump & there’s more of you here i’ll put it here–
i believe that it is an illustration of what is wrong with our politics in this country–
john dingell died yesterday at the age of 92–many of you are saying who the hell is john dingell?
dingell was one of the longest serving congressmen in history, serving from 1955 to 2014,representing the outskirts of the detroit area as a democrat —
but that’s only part of the story,as he stepped into the office when the previous occupant died–the man who preceded dingell in office was his father, who was elected in 1932 with franklin d roosevelt and died in office–if memory serves, his father introduced a bill that would have been the 1st obamacare–
fast forward to 2014 when dingell retired–who do you think took his seat?naw, not his son,but close–his 2nd wife now holds the seat–that means the seat has now been held by the same family since 1933,or 86 years–how many of you guys or your dads are 86?
while the dingells are not the only family to become a political dynasty,i know of no other family that has held a single seat for such a long period of time,do any of you?
so far as i know, dingell had only one redeeming quality,he was one of the most hardcore gun rights supporters in congress–which brings me to my next point–
a certain george h w bush, now deceased, wrote the forward to dingell’s autobiography, writing about how great it is to compromise & lamenting modern politics where there is so much rancor–
bush apparently liked things better when the republicans were given some crumbs & a photo op when a big bill was passed as long as they were good boys and sat in the back of the congressional dining room–
as i wrote above, dingell was a hardcore gun rights supporter & once wrote a letter TO the batf in which he called them jack booted thugs–does jack booted thugs sound familiar?it should if you’ve been watching for awhile–
a few years after dingell said what he said about the batf the natl rifle association used the term in a fund raising letter,do any of you remember the political firestorm that erupted?
do you remember the above referenced mr bush huffily resigning his nra membership because of the extremist position of the most pussified gun rights organization in the country?
but later when the furor calmed down, mr bush was content to go back to hanging out with the original author of the term–

Donald Trump made Dingell distraught. He saw the president as ‘a clear and present danger to the United States of America.’ But he was even angrier about what he saw as the Republican-controlled House ‘ignoring its constitutional responsibility to check the executive’s authority.’

…Dingell believed the new Democratic-led Congress should use its subpoena power and all the other tools in its toolbox to hold Trump administration officials accountable in 2019. ‘If we really want to make America great again, we need to start by hauling their a–es up to Capitol Hill in front of truly bipartisan oversight committees and make them swear to tell the truth under penalty of perjury,’ he wrote. ‘Believe me, it works. I’ve seen the wet spots on the chairs after they’ve finished testifying.’

Trump to the libtarded is like O’Barry was to conservatives. The only difference, of course, is that the left always follows through with their plans

THE IRISH SLAVE TRADE – THE FORGOTTEN “WHITE” SLAVES

The Irish Slave Trade – The Forgotten “White” Slaves

“The Irish slave trade began when James II sold 30,000 Irish prisoners as slaves to the New World. His Proclamation of 1625 required Irish political prisoners be sent overseas and sold to English settlers in the West Indies. By the mid 1600s, the Irish were the main slaves sold to Antigua and Montserrat. At that time, 70% of the total population of Montserrat were Irish slaves.

Ireland quickly became the biggest source of human livestock for English merchants. The majority of the early slaves to the New World were actually white.

From 1641 to 1652, over 500,000 Irish were killed by the English and another 300,000 were sold as slaves. Ireland’s population fell from about 1,500,000 to 600,000 in one single decade. Families were ripped apart as the British did not allow Irish dads to take their wives and children with them across the Atlantic. This led to a helpless population of homeless women and children. Britain’s solution was to auction them off as well.”
