SAME AS IT EVER WAS

Here’s a couple interesting parallels.
You more accomplished writers, feel free to take the observation and mould it, like the artist you are, into a stand alone post.

Since movies emerged, then TV, when mass market penetration was gained, the manipulators used it for deception, spreading a narrative for control, and financial gain.
Back in the early days, those who didn’t suck it up we’re perceived as backwards, and out of touch with modern and current trends.
They were viewed as being ignorant. Out of touch.
And the stigma continues a bit still today, by the zombified.

But many have awakened to the mind fuck…tools used, perpetrators, and success in victimizing, + success with the narrative agenda.
The wiser in the target audience have learned to opt out.
They read books, or engage in more worthwhile activities than sucking up the media vomit.

Now, the parallel…
Cell phones / Smart phones / Web news / social media.
Again, mass market saturation, and the same agenda, tools, manipulators, control, and filthy lucre obtained.
Here, too, the ‘old school’ users who have nearly opted out, in various ways of resisting the temptations and debateable benefits, are still perceived as out of touch. Old fashioned. Relics of the past, too ignorant to grasp the benefits and convenience.
Or, are they?

I applaud those who aren’t addicted to the use of mobile phones.
They’ve insulated themselves from the negative effects..

In the end, use tools for better efficiency, but don’t be brainwashed by the manipulation, right?
Take frequent breaks from our vices and addictions.

Read. Learn. View. Trust, but verify.
Better to trust your experience and instincts. Trust your gut.
