South Park Episode “Band In China” Is Banned In China

Authored by Nicole Hao via The Epoch Times,

The most recent episode of America’ adult sitcom South Park, ‘Band in China,’ has been banned in China because its content reflects too closely real life in China, touching on politically sensitive topics for the Beijing regime like crimes of live organ harvesting and extrajudicial killings.

“[Chinese leader] Xi [Jinping] doesn’t look like Winnie the Pooh at all. Tune into our 300th episode this Wednesday at 10,” South Park’s creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone wrote in a statement on Oct. 7.

“Like the NBA, we welcome the Chinese censors into our homes and into our hearts,” the statement reads.

“We too love money more than freedom and democracy.”

At the end of the statement, Parker and Stone made a joke:

“Long live the great Communist Party of China. May the autumn’s sorghum harvest be bountiful! We good now China?”

Parker and Stone were referencing an NBA tweet by Houston Rockets’ general manager Daryl Morey that led to all Rockets’ related products being removed from China’s largest online store, Taobao, on Oct. 7. In his tweet, Morey voiced support for Hong Kong protesters and their calls for democracy, drawing the ire of the communist regime.

Although Morey deleted the tweet and replaced it with an apology, China didn’t pardon the Rockets until the story was picked up by international media.

South Park suffered the same treatment.

On Baidu’s Tieba, China’s largest online discussions platform, no posts relating to the South Park episode were allowed. Existing South Park discussions were scrubbed, with China’s netizens fed a message saying: “According to the relevant laws and regulations, this section is temporarily not open.”

On Zhihu, Douban, Bilibili, and other Chinese social media, South Park became a censored topic, with searches returning no information.

Band Vs Banned

“Band in China” is the second episode of the twenty-third season of South Park, which premiered in the United States on Oct. 2.

In the episode, Stan Marsh’s father, Randy, goes to China to expand his marijuana business. Soon after landing, Randy is detained and sentenced to prison because marijuana was found in his luggage.

In prison, Randy witnesses slave labor, torture, re-education/brainwashing, as well as the practice of summary execution. Meanwhile, Randy meets fellow prisoners Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet, who are there because they were banned in China after internet memes comparing Xi Jinping to Disney’s version of Pooh became popular. Finally, Randy kills Pooh in exchange for his marijuana business being legalized in China.

Back at home, a music producer wants to make a biopic of Stan’s band. But the band soon learns that they must edit their lives in order to make the film marketable in China due to Beijing’s censorship, which includes Stan suggesting that band member Eric Cartman change his liver in China with one harvested from a live Chinese victim. In the end, Stan changes his mind during filming and decides not to compromise for China.

Bribery, live organ harvesting, prison torture and killings, slave labor, and Winnie-the-Pooh are topics long banned by the Chinese Communist Party’s censorship.

If South Park did an episode on what actually happened with Russiagate or Ukrainegate (or JFK, 9/11, Epstein, etc), the episode would be banned here, too, maybe not by government, but by the deep state’s media arm. Recall they did a show featuring Mohammed a few years back and the network wouldn’t let them show a cartoon version of the prophet. Censorship is far worse today and getting worse all the time. As soon as South Park goes too far on a topic dear to the hearts of the leftists, they’ll be banned here, too.

NBA broadcasts have now been cancelled by the ChicComs. I find it quit disturbing that the NBA would threaten Charlotte over the NC bathroom bill, but will bend over backwards to placate a country that tortures and summarily executes its own people.

I guess human rights have a price, after all.

South Park has some good comedy once in a while.
ScuzzleButt, the Jersey episode making Snookie out as a troll, and the Jew gold were some of my favorites.

This is what happens, when this country’s business leader choose to become a “service economy”. They wind up sucking chicom ****, and swallowing their *** with a smile and a reach around.

Our ancestor did mighty fine by not relying on Chinese crapola, don’t feed the enemy.

If I give more a hoot in the future, Ill read up on what Nixon was trying to gain. Ive always wondered what our gains and losses have been since demoting ourselves to the Chinese level. Are the Rare Earth magnets in all those Obamafields of solar panels and wind farms worth it? Was any of this worth it?

BRAVO South Park!! They even threw a Uighur into that episode to rub salt into the CCP’s wound.
