As another year comes to a close, the 10th for The Burning Platform, I want to offer my thanks and gratitude to everyone associated with the dysfunctional family we’ve created on the interwebs. First, and most importantly, I want to thank TMWNN for his dedication and commitment to free speech. If he hadn’t rescued the site in May 2014 from a massive denial of service attack, you wouldn’t have seen five years of Wal-Mart freaks and thousands of Friday fails. As many sites that started in the same time frame have gone commercial and sold out to the mainstream fake news media, TBP has remained a bastion of free speech, sticking our finger in the eye of the Deep State.

I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has donated some of their hard earned money to the site. I know that everyone who contributed, whether it was $2 or $2,500 (yes some people gave $2,000 or more), gave what they could.  When I set a goal of $40,000, I didn’t think it was possible to get anywhere close to that figure. Well, I was wrong again. TBPers are truly generous and appreciative of a place where they can say anything and/or contribute through articles or commenting. I’m amazed  the donations were able to fill the gap left by all those advertisers who pulled the plug on TBP because we tell the truth.

The establishment media advertising platforms (Google, Amazon, Facebook, Yahoo, and many other spineless companies) think they can destroy small time bloggers by denying them a revenue stream. Every major advertising platform has banned TBP because we refuse to buckle to their politically correct bullshit. Hate speech isn’t speech that special snowflakes are offended by. My whole purpose with this site is to offend as many people as possible. And I think we’ve succeeded. Your contributions, whether financial, intellectual, or spiritual, have meant the world to me.

Personally, 2019 was an extremely disruptive, stressful year. I had gotten my second asshole boss in a row at Wharton. Two years of dealing with total dickheads was too much. I decided to move on in July and now have a less stressful commute, work for a boss who appreciates my efforts, and among people who aren’t assholes. Still, after working some place for twelve years and having to learn new systems, people and procedures is stressful. At the same time I blew out my back and was in constant pain for a couple months. My wife has had a serious medical issue for the last couple years, but it has improved tremendously in the last few months. This type of mental and physical stress has not been conducive for writing. But I think I’m starting to get my mojo back.

I’m off for twelve days and look forward to spending quality time with my family. The house is decorated. We’re preparing for our annual Christmas Eve party where family, friends and neighbors will party until the wee hours as Santa Claus makes his rounds. Meatballs, sausage, Philly soft pretzels, roast beef, chicken, snacks, dessert, booze and beer will be consumed in large quantities.

I’d like to offer my deepest appreciation to everyone in the TBP family. I met a few of you at Hardscrabble’s farm, and hope to meet more of you in the future – at the TBP FEMA camp. 🙂 I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas. I look forward to another year of sticking it to the establishment and offending as many people as possible. I’m sure you’ll do your part.
