The Death of the West is not a prediction of what is going to happen. It is a depiction of what is happening now. First World nations are dying.
If Western elites were asked to name the greatest crisis facing mankind, climate change would win in a walk.
Thus did Time magazine pass over every world leader to name a Swedish teenage climate activist, Greta Thunberg, its person of the year.
On New Year’s Day, the headline over yet another story in The Washington Post admonished us anew: “A Lost Decade for Climate Action: We Can’t Afford A Repeat, Scientists Warn.”
“By the final year of the decade,” said the Post, “the planet had surpassed its 2010 temperature record five times.
“Hurricanes devastated New Jersey and Puerto Rico, and floods damaged the Midwest and Bangladesh. Southern Africa was gripped by a deadly drought. Australia and the Amazon are ablaze.”
On it went, echoing the endless reports on the perils of climate change to the planet we all inhabit.
Yet, from the inaction of the carbon-emitting countries like India, China, Russia and the USA, the gravity with which Western elites view the crisis is not shared by the peoples for whom they profess to speak.
For many First World countries, there are more compelling concerns. High among them is population decline, and, if birth rates do not rise, the near-extinction of many Western peoples by this century’s end.
Consider. The number of births in Japan fell in 2019 to a level unseen since 1874, around 900,000. But there were 1.4 million deaths for a net loss of 512,000 Japanese. An even larger loss in Japan’s population is expected this year.
Japan’s population has been shrinking since 2007, when deaths first exceeded births by 18,000. And with 28% of its population over 65, and fewer births every passing year, Japan is aging, shrinking and dying — with no respite in sight.
Across Japan, writes The New York Times: “Whole villages are vanishing as young people choose not to have children or move to urban areas … The Government estimates that the population could shrink by about 16 million people — or nearly 13 percent — over the next 25 years.”
South Korea has an even lower birth rate, and its population is expected to start diminishing this year.
But it is Eastern Europe where the population crisis is most advanced.
By 2050, Ukraine and Poland are each projected to lose another 6 million people, and Hungary will lose 1.5 million.
Lithuania and Latvia have seen serious population losses since the end of the Cold War and are in the front rank of European nations losing people at the fastest rate.
U.N. demographers project Russia’s population may fall from 145 million today to 121 million by 2050. Such losses rival those that Russia suffered under Lenin, Stalin and World War II.
The Far East is home to some 6 million Russians who dwell on that vast tract that is so full of natural resources like timber, oil and gas.
“The population continues to decrease almost everywhere in the Far East,” lamented President Vladimir Putin at an investment conference in Vladivostok: “The inflow is increasing, but it does not cover the number of people leaving the region.”
In the Far East, Siberia and the Lake Baikal region, investors and workers from China are appearing in growing numbers.
The tribes of Europe, the peoples of almost every country of the Old Continent, are visibly aging, shrinking and dying. The population crisis of Europe is “existential,” says Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic.
Since this writer published “The Death of the West,” nothing has happened to alter my conclusion as to where the West was destined:
“The Death of the West is not a prediction of what is going to happen. It is a depiction of what is happening now. First World nations are dying. They face a mortal crisis, not because of something happening in the Third World, but because of what is not happening at home and in the homes of the First World. Western fertility rates have been falling for decades. Outside of Muslim Albania, no European nation is producing enough babies to replace its population. … In a score of countries the old are already dying off faster than the young are being born. … There is no sign of a turnaround. Now the absolute numbers of Europeans have begun to fall.”
We are talking here about what historians, a century hence, will call the Lost Tribes of Europe. And if a people has ceased to replace itself, and the national family is dying out, it is difficult to generate alarm over the slow sinking of the Maldives into the sea, the melting of the polar ice caps, or the fact that Greenland is getting greener every year.

Start to correct this situation by bulldozing Mosques. When the riots start, round them up and deport them.
There are two ways to increase native population percentages. Why not try reducing the non productive loonies?

While correlation does not mean cause, I suspect the correlation between technological advances and declining birthrates in those technologically advanced cultures are mutually causal.

The article was bemoaning the decline in the percentages of white people. That percentage can be stated as the number of whites divided by the number of non whites; w/n.
By reducing the denominator, the percentage of whites increases. Simple arithmetic. If you can’t get the top number to increase, reduce the bottom number.
I don’t see a decline in human population as a problem at all. In fact, the world has far too many people, mostly too stupid to survive on their own in an advanced society. If they were to stay put in their jungle, desert, etc, then live and let live. Once they invade to get ‘free stuff’ they need to be disabused of the notion that they have a right to it.
The bleeding heart types have helped Africa to keep fornicating by supplying them with all manner of supplies that the locals can’t produce for themselves. The obvious solution is to stop helping them increase their population. Let nature take its course and have the locals realize that having children when they can’t be properly cared for is not a good idea. Those dumbasses should be in decline but instead are rapidly increasing and invading Europe and elsewhere.
The world doesn’t need more people with an 85 or lower IQ. Technology is here to stay and the people that are genetically or otherwise incapable of keeping up should disappear as nature intended. Extinction is a survival strategy for the smart in this case.
The religious preference of the majority dumbasses and their natural inclination to violence (low IQ correlation) is a way to target them. When they riot, deport them, shoot them, just get rid of them where white people live. That increase the white percentage.

Just got back from New Jersey. On the drive down I was taken by the large number of mature trees that had fallen, been blown down or were otherwise in terminal decline. Because we were in the car traveling at 65 mph I didn’t notice the species or the cause. I assumed it was the result of heavy winds, microbursts, etc. Once I got out and took a few walks it was pretty obvious. The vast majority of the affected trees were old growth Ash, one of the dominant species of the mid-Atlantic. They are on there way to extinction thanks to the emerald ash borer, an invasive species brought over from Asia, mostly in the low priced Asian ash that went into so much of the Pottery Barn/Ikea furniture that was extremely popular with the middle class of the past 30 or so years. For an extra couple of bucks spent on each purchase we would have been able to have our beautiful ash trees for another twenty centuries, but that cost was too high for most consumers, so now it’s going to be Japanese knotweed and kudzu and bamboo filling the void.
Celebrate the diversity.
Populations of living organisms thrive or fail at random intervals based on a myriad of factors, but something always fills the void. A steadily rising human population is neither a moral issue (good/bad) nor an existential one (profusion/extinction), but it does represent manifest changes to specific populations and sub-groups. An energetic and youthful human sub-species or ethnicity will overtake and eventually displace a moribund and exhausted one.
That’s about it.

By the way? we have had so much rain here, roadside trees are being uprooted and falling over. I’m expecting mudslides soon, preceding the big New Madrid Quake of July 2020.

There’s plenty of people and life will go on and yes, things will change. I imagine a massive die-off with the coming economic collapse. Combined with the solar minimum and maybe the strong surviving and many liberals not making it. I would get out of cities while you can. There’s plenty of doom porn for everyone.
I’m at the point in my life where I don’t give a fuck if I live or die today or tomorrow, I just am happy for what I’ve had and for any days I have left. I can appreciate Mr. Buchanan’s personal concern, but frankly if whatever calamity were to take out a few hundred million people and also take out Mr. Buchanan, I’m thinking that’s not a bad trade-off.
Overpopulation is a scheme by the world elite to make themselves infantry more wealthy. The realization is spreading worldwide that people are doing themselves and their unborn children a service by not reproducing.
This does not mean the end of the world, it is simply a re balancing of priorities. If the people ever regain some degree of prosperity, they will once again believe in the luxury of large families.
