Trump says missiles were ‘paid for’ by Obama

President Trump claimed the Obama administration “paid for” the ballistic missiles that Iran used to strike an Iraqi-U.S. coalition military base in western Iraq on Wednesday morning.

“The missiles fired last night at us and our allies were paid for with the funds made available by the last administration,” Trump said in the grand foyer of the White House.

President Barack Obama sent $1.7 billion in cash to Iran to pay for a decades-old arbitration claim that stood between the two nations. Iran agreed to release four American prisoners in exchange for the payment delivered on Jan. 17, 2016.

Sen. Ted Cruz made the same suggestion on Hannity last night, saying: “They literally flew $1.7 billion in cash, in unmarked bills, on pallets in the dead of night into Iran. In a very real sense, the missiles that we saw fired at U.S. servicemen and women tonight were paid for by the billions that the Obama administration flooded the Ayatollah with.”

Trump tweeted “all is well,” hours after dozens of ballistic missiles struck the Ain al Asad air base in western Iraq. No U.S. casualties were reported after the attacks.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed to seek “revenge” for the deaths of top Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi militia leader Abu Mahdi al Muhandis, who were killed in an airstrike ordered by Trump days after the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad was surrounded and set aflame by Iranian-backed militants chanting “death to America.”

Iran took responsibility for the attacks in a statement that read: “The brave soldiers of [the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] aerospace unit have launched a successful attack with tens of ballistic missiles on Al Assad military base in the name of martyr Gen. Qassem Soleimani.”

I’m thinking the article should have pointed out that Iran’s money was just being returned after being frozen in the U.S. for decades.

Some people here clearly aren’t interested in the facts. But yes, of course that was what happened. As if economic terrorism is appropriate.

Not economic terrorism, just “a decades-old arbitration claim”.

I don’t know if my snark was coming through. The U.S. literally seized Iranian assets and held them since 1979. I can’t believe the linguistic hoops the Neocons jump through to make it sound as though the Iranians were gifted with what was their own money. I don’t like Obama either, but I also don’t have to lie to make a point.

Retuned ? Nice wording. Always great to fund the countries who really say nothing good about you. They used the money to feed their poor of course. And what if we never gave the warlords that money ? What exactly would of happened ? Oh yea, I get it, they would not like us.

Most of the money came back, it was a swine fest with plane loads of cash, at least 1.5 billion and most conclude 3 billion, did I say cash? Everybody got a cut.
Well, all the pigs got a cut, the rest of the animals watched, from outside, looking in.

One does have to wonder though. How do you fire 12-15 “Ballistic” missiles at a target, and no one gets a scratch? Not that I question anything the government tells me.(sarc.)

Reminds me of when we warned Russia and they moved their ships before a US strike. It’s all too pat.

Iran gets to look like they replied to losing their chief terrorist and appease their people. Yet no personnel injuries or loss.

And here are two examples of the Orwellian Media Memory Hole. As of the timestamp of this comment, if one does a search page for “Obama” (or even “previous administration” in these articles, they’ll find nothing. Zero. Zip. Nada.

1.) WSJ via MSN:

Trump Doesn’t Signal Further Military Strikes After Iran’s Attack

2.) Huff-Po:

TRUMP: NEW SANCTIONS — HINTS NO ESCALATION

Now, given that a U.S. President, while addressing the nation on television for the first time since ordering the killing of Iran’s top general, had blamed a former U.S. president for aiding and abetting the enemy – wouldn’t you think that would be big news?

Yet many Americans who didn’t see the address live, won’t know.

The Orwellian Media is the enemy. They are guilty of generating false narratives designed to precipitate the downfall of the republic. And that’s the real election hacking.

Doug, I do not “follow” the Mandela Effect stuff, but some of it does make me want to go Hmmmmmm.

I agree with you about the Media but I’m not sure it isn’t a blend of Orwell and Rand. Bear with me for old times sake.

I’m fine now.

In my opinion, Rand’s writing was stilted and her characters emotions were pretty much limited to pragmatic and rational thought, logically directed in the objectivist mindset, pleasing self above all else in all things. Even her love scenes came off woodenly, all puns possible intended.

It isn’t just the Media. The Media has always had gatekeepers and filters in place to identify those who might not follow the rules. I think this time an old Ancient Enemy has joined forces. We are seeing some sort of, dare I suggest it?, reverberation in the Force.

I’ll avoid planting clues. My old writing mentor Deborah Chester was (at one time) a George Lucas writer. He had about 50 writers to come up with ideas from which he might pick and choose for his Star Wars Extravaganza. (I accused her of coming up with JarJar and she burst out laughing. I don’t think it was her.) She said George Lucas did come and visit with the team while they were brainstorming and storyboarding.

She said he wanted them not only to make the impossible believable, he wanted them to make the unbelievable possible. I don’t know if she said that or he did but I’m claiming it unless you use it first.

What if, somehow, while traversing the ideas about how to represent the idea of space and time travel, someone found a way to send at least data through space and time via the quantum realm everyone thinks Einstein might have miscalculated. (If data travels via electrical impulse and thoughts travel along nerve synapses via electrical impulse and the air is completely full of all sorts of electromagnetic waves how in the world can any of us think at all? ) So, what if there WAS a way to get the magazine back in time, even if Michael J. Fox himself was unable to drive the DeLorean, perhaps he could attach it via text message.

I know it sounds CRAZEE but what if some computer algorithm somewhere managed to send data even a second or two ahead? How long would it be until someone figured out a way to multiplex or amplify that ability to a few minutes? What if Winston’s job at the Department of History became obsolete because computers could revise history before it was ever written.

That is what my father called a conundrum… no solution because it isn’t a real problem. But, it does make me think… trying to wrap my head around what is going on in the world… it really is as if George Lucas not only made the impossible believable, he also made the unbelieveable possible. In some really terrible ways.

QUOTATION: You see things; and you say “Why?” But I dream things that never were; and I say “Why not?”
ATTRIBUTION: GEORGE BERNARD SHAW, Back to Methuselah, act I, Selected Plays with Prefaces, vol. 2, p. 7 (1949). The serpent says these words to Eve.

I’ll have to think about that one, MG. The “disturbance in the force” called to mind something referenced here by… I believe… it was Miss Holly O. Anyway, the example was that someone went back through time and changed the “e” to an “a” in Berenstain Bears. I had an aunt that used to collect them years ago and I, too, swear they were Berenstein Bears. And now she’s dead and I can’t ask her. But the point is this: How would we know?

Here we go, more divisive political rhetoric by the Divider n Chief to refocus the public’s attention away from the assassination and tit for tat bellicose bullshit, I’m sure Iran had missiles well before receiving the billion or so from signing the nuclear agreement under the Obama administration.

Make it stop! It’s too repulsive and nauseating.

Rand Paul, who does some times distingish himself from the other clowns in congress, was quoted in interview with wolf blitzer of all people, as saying that anyone who believes any of the garbage coming out of pompass’s mouth as being brain dead.

That works for me as applied to anything and all coming from pompass.

My impression is that pompass and kushner are the primary sources of the total garbage coming from trump’s twitter and mouth.
