QUOTES OF THE DAY

“Realize that narcissists have an addiction disorder. They are strongly addicted to feeling significant. Like any addict they will do whatever it takes to get this feeling often. That is why they are manipulative and fakers. They promise change, but can’t deliver if it interferes with their addiction.”

Shannon L. Alder

“As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool returns to his folly.”

Proverbs 26:11

“This is the contempt in which they hold the majority of American people and the political process: the common people are easily led fools, and everyone else who is smart enough to know better has their price.

And they would beggar every middle class voter in the US before they will voluntarily give up one dime of their ill gotten gains.”

Simon Johnson, The Quiet Coup, May 2009

“Remember that there will be trying times in the last days. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, dishonoring their parents, and ungrateful. To them nothing is sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and despise what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless and proud, and love pleasures of the world more than God. They may talk like they are religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Shun them.”

2 Timothy 3:1-5

“They may talk like they are religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Shun them.”

I don’t “talk” religion. I hate religion. Religion does not make one Godly, it makes one religious.

Religion: that which a man can or must do to please God or assuage His anger.

There is nothing a man can do that God has not already done. Read carefully…

2 Corinthians 5:19-21 KJB… “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Through Christ’s atoning death, burial and subsequent resurrection, God has reconciled (brought into friendship from a state of disagreement or enmity; made consistent; adjusted.) the world, that means everyone, back to Himself. For now. Religion is the poison that would deny such truth in favor of religious activity.

Be ye reconciled to God. Know what you are and acknowledge what God did for you. Salvation cannot be earned; it is given by grace. The ball is in your court.

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJB… “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Religion loves to boast.

If you want to define belief as an activity, you got me. I define it as a realization, a logical reckoning; a coming to terms with facts presented. I need not move a muscle, do or say a thing in order to realize my sinful condition or to receive the gift God so magnanimously offers.

Reckon: To reason with one’s self and conclude from arguments.

well I was thinking of the calvinist idea that god gives faith.

in any case I don’t get the whole “god does it all” thing. “there is nothing a man can do that god has not already done.” “It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.” ps 127:2 I don’t get that. if I go to work and earn money and pay my rent, that’s the gift of god? but if I stay home and play video games until the sheriff comes and evicts me, that’s my fault? I don’t get it.

In my “human-ness” I don’t get it either. That don’t mean it ain’t so. That’s love way above my pay grade.

Grace is undeserved favor. None of us deserve it, yet there it is. Reckon that, and that will change a man.

“having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!”

The entire country runs away from religion. When did religion get such a bad name? Of course it won’t do you any good to say your not religious while standing before the pearly gates. What is bad is the form of godliness, the appearance of religiousness, not religion per se. Notice I used the phrase ‘per se’ correctly and not gratuitously, like some who like to have the form of grammaticalness.

“When did religion get such a bad name?”

when “liberty” replaced by “license”, when “religion” was equated with “oppression”, and when “sin” was equated with “freedom”.

If we use the flat earth model of society and expand on it, likening it to the form of a lasagna, the lower creatures are bubbling to the surface like volcanic activity on the surface of the earth. There is a huge, ongoing effort – a subduction of virtue -to bury the religious folks who fear god and normalize the abnormal.

So, basically, you are proposing the Lasagna Dish Earth rather than the Deep Dish Pie Earth model?

“And they would beggar every middle class voter in the US before they will voluntarily give up one dime of their ill gotten gains.”

this guy doesn’t get it at all. (((they))) don’t see anything they own or control as “ill-gotten”, ever, under any circumstances. from the get-go they see it as theirs, all of it as theirs, everything under the sun as theirs, by divine right. anything the rest of us own or control, they see as US having stolen from THEM. rush limbaugh likes to say, “they’re angry at anyone who has a dollar more than they do.” he’s wrong – they’re angry at anyone who has a dollar. because in their eyes, that’s their dollar. you stole it from them.

“the silver is mine and the gold is mine.” “the nation that will not serve you shall be destroyed.”
