Risings and Fallings

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

In the corkscrewing anguish of the social sequester, with careers, savings, futures, and dreams whirling down the drain, voices rise above the din of conflicting statistics to ask: what is going on here? To some, it looks like a deliberate attempt to demolish what’s left of the economy for political advantage. Clouds of suspicion gather over the two medical superstars of the Daily Briefing show, Doctors Fauci and Birx, as they somewhat sheepishly revise their numbers for contagion and death downward and attempt to “balance” the formula of modeled projections versus mitigation efforts. Was the stay-at-home panic necessary, after all? Will it save the day or kill off modern life as we knew it?

Well, everyplace else in the world was shutting down, weren’t they? Did they all go off their rockers, too? At least a hundred doctors died in Italy heroically tending the stricken, so they say. South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore opted for flat-out medical Gestapo action. Britain, Spain, France, and Germany about the same, but minus testing at the grand scale and tracing of contacts. Honestly, how is it possible the whole planet punked itself?

I certainly don’t know the answer to all this, though readers are twanging on me to declare the whole Covid-19 story “a hoax,” which I’m not ready to do. I do know this: America has become utterly intolerant of uncertainty. And in the absence of certainty, that age-old human cognitive skill called pattern recognition, which has made us such a successful species, kicks into high gear scanning the field-of-view for answers. Any string-of-dots that affords even the slimmest plausibility goes on the table for review, including a lot of stories tagged as “conspiracy theories.”

I know this, too: the financial side of the gasping global economy was running off the rails well before Covid-19 flew out of its bat-cave into somebody’s soup bowl… or out of China’s Wuhan virus lab, if that’s how you like it… or before it seeped out of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s ark of world-saving secrets. In the USA and Europe, finance had come to mostly eclipse every other human endeavor of wealth production – with the catch that finance actually didn’t produce any real wealth, it only winkled and swindled wealth (or the mere ghosts of wealth) with its asset-stripping magic, from the places where wealth once did truly dwell. Or else it ginned up abstruse rackets that attempted to replace the utility of money with sheer math. Or, when all else failed, it just resorted to plain old accounting fraud… until, finally, there was so much there not actually there, that the whole holographic fantasy flickered out.

The pre-Easter bear market rally on Wall Street has been a wonder, don’t you think? As the numbers of able-bodied people out-of-work rocketed up past ten million during the same period, the stock indexes shot up three, five, six percent a day? Say, what? You’re telling me that’s based on the prospect of magnificent earnings in the third quarter? With every business on God’s green earth writhing in the dust like squashed bugs? And every supply line for basic goods and the gazillion spare parts for everything… all choked off?

And meanwhile, the American public sequesters and festers, waiting for those $1,200 checks that will fix… everything! Let’s face it: this is a twilight zone between stupor and fury. Nobody is paying anything to anyone. All obligations are suspended: rents, mortgages, bills, loans, bets, and vigs, all up in the air somewhere, but definitely not moving to their assigned destinations. The velocity of money is zero and all the various new term facilities and structured vehicles conjured by the Federal Reserve and Congress amount to a mere shadow of money moving – even though they are represented by trillions of brand-new alleged dollars. For every ten points that the Standard & Poor’s rose this week, somewhere down the line as many hedge funders will be dribbled like so many basketballs to the hoop of judgment.

The nation now has the long Easter weekend to stew and ruminate over its fate with spring achingly vivid and beckoning beyond the grim, streaked windows of sequestering. Those little cans of Easter Spam with pineapple rings won’t offer much consolation, combined with the abject discovery that even Netflix only has so many sequels to Frozen for children going catatonic with ennui. Kids are generally not so excited by stock and bond markets, but that’s probably where the genuine melodrama picks up on Monday. The weeks ahead there will give the phrase down-to-earth a whole new meaning.

seems fitting… all we can do is pray.

And I try
Oh my God, do I try
I try all the time
In this institution

And I pray
Oh my God, do I pray
I pray every single day

“seems fitting… all we can do is pray.” Your life is a flash in the pan? And that’s okay? Waiting patiently to be propitiously ‘impatient’ later is a strategy and an intent. Is your intent to lose patiently? We have to search for the word revolution. Manhood is it’s own license. Go, prayer warriors!

I have been watching assorted “death clocks” to see if theres an actual impact in daily deaths from corona virus
Deaths as of 10 a.m. on good friday
3265 dead so far today in america
An uncounted 983 abortions as of 10 a.m. on good friday.

I am immeasurably repulsed by that last stat. This virus is of no apparent impact.

Yes, in the US we average 8000 deaths a day at this time of year.
An interesting 420.88 in nyc per day on average. 150 of whom die at home. Just for vomparisons sake. Over the course of the virus so far, daily deaths are actually down with so many staying home. Stats and facts are why i dont watch news on tv.

Dan, there is the concept of burden of proof. Psychological abuse puts burden of proof squarely on the victim. I don’t have my spontaneous call to arms to quote myself, but my argument is the same. We know enough to go our own way politically without regard for the welfare of our adversaries. The time to calculate the problem is years over. Time to calculate solutions. If I could, I would get guns and ammo and start practicing. I would make a greenhouse. I would just live for now. This repetitive analysis to hell is nauseating. I know. I come here every damn day. There are several scenarios to look at here.
1. Chinese is manipulating numbers to cover up more deaths in their country than they are reporting. The regime will save face on a global stage at any and all costs. The initial cover up may have been to save face, but then it had the unintended side-effect of allowing Chinese citizens with the virus to come into this country for a longer time frame than if they had openly spoken about the virus from the get-go. Pro: Panic and market/economy crash of Western/European countries. Con: Anger and cutting ties to China in manufacturing of all items, specifically low-cost consumer goods (clothes, toys, etc) and pharmaceuticals. Americans will now want more medicines and key goods made here. In my opinion, the loss of a few million citizens among billions is a loss they are willing to take, particularly if more of them are men than women as they have a huge gender disparity right now anyway. Morals do not come into play here at all. The regime knew the economy was smoke and mirrors anyway and bound to go down. But taking everyone else with them was a huge bonus.
2. The US initially did not care about this virus because they knew damn well it was not a huge problem so why even look at it. The Chinese “whistleblower” may have know the inside scoop about the whole thing and the regime silenced him to make it seem like they were covering up something far more serious to further induce panic.
3. Deep State/democrats saw a massive opportunity to screw the American public financially and point the finger Trump. Nothing else was working, so lets crash it all (after all, it’s not going to financially affect them, they sold all their stocks before the crash anyway), piss off every single person out there, and then everyone will hate Trump and we can force voting by mail and cheat and put the Two Minute Egg Biden in the White house. Anyone who thinks the sociopaths in charge wouldn’t do that is beyond naive.
4. Why would Britain fall for this farce? Well, the PTB did NOT want Brexit. So this is a good way to keep the thumb on the people for a while longer while they come up with a plan to screw the people once again. They are not enforcing Muslim quarantines and stay at home orders at all, so this is obviously bullshit on a major scale.
5. Germany, shame on you. See number 4. Germany has a lot of power in the Union because they are a financial powerhouse in comparison to some of the other countries, and yes Greece, I am looking at you. You had no business being in the EU. You cooked the books and everyone knows it. Letting Britain out means they are on more of the hook money wise.
6. France, same thing.
7. Italy’s hardest hit region is home of the garment manufacturing district. Guess who works there? Thousand of Chinese nationals coming and going freely. Guess who lives there? A lot of old people.
8. New York. Please use the gray matter folks. Millions of people living in crowded conditions. What did you expect. To quote the Two Minute Egg “Come on man!”Still, the numbers don’t add up. The projections are wrong. I for one am not surprised in the least.
9. Trump was put between a rock and a hard place. With the sword of Damocles above his head. Do nothing, get blamed. Do something, get blamed. So he took the path that saved some lives but in the end may hurt a lot more. Career government hacks like Fauci and Birx were put in place, first to help stoke the fires of fear (Fauci) then to be the mother hen voice of reason and calm (Brix).

So what happens now? Well, the financial damage is already done. What the extent of it is will play out in the next 12 months initially. But there is ALWAYS A WILD CARD. THE JOKER IS STILL IN THE DECK.

1. Too many people are talking about the empty hospitals, un-used ventilators, and fairly flat death rate. This is not going to go away.
2. People are starting to get news calluses. You can’t natter on 24 hours a day about a crisis because then it becomes back ground noise and no one listens. It’s Charlie Brown’s teacher. Noise.
3. If the States push to keep shit closed beyond the beginning of May people are going to get pissed. I live in MA, so Charlie you better get your head out of your ass. No one wants this past May. NO ONE. Everyone has been playing nice so far but that’s coming to a swift end.
4. I predict first some small towns in some purple/red areas are going to say “FUCK THIS” and let stuff open. The police want to let this happen except for the same morons and power hogs that always want more control. I hear more sirens now with everything closed than when every bar and the strip club was open. Once that happens it’s going to snowball.
5. Once shit opens locally, there will be another, last-ditch fear push. I saw a blurb about testing positive again even after recovery. Who gives a fuck. If you do, and you are not sick, then it’s lies anyway. Fox 25 ran a story about a woman who was tested 5 times and it was negative then positive then negative again then positive. This lady is living a nightmare because I would assume these tests suck. Suddenly death numbers are going to jump again, and everyone will lose their shit and then it will be back to lock down . One of two things will happen: people will either do it or they won’t and there will be mass civil unrest. This will not go well. National guard, think long and hard here about whether or not you want to be actively committing violence against fellow citizens. And if we see UN blue helmets on our soil well I don’t even have to tell you what’s going to happen.
Mr. Trump, I believe you really, truly want to do the right thing here. I do. Then do it. If you go on the air, and tell us it’s over, then the vast majority of people are going to believe you. Stop giving air time to Dr. Apocalypse. Tell Mr. Gates thanks, but we won’t be microchipping our citizens like Golden Retrievers. Tell old folks to stay home, keep the nursing homes closed. Tell the obese and diabetic to stay home and maybe get on the tread mill.
Make Hydroxychloroquine/ZPAC/Zinc available everywhere. Stop letting governors with BS agendas dictate what their poor citizens will have access too. That’s between them and, oh, I don’t know….LICENSED MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS.
I also strongly recommend letting the airlines go into Bankruptcy. They did this to themselves. Stock buy backs to artificially inflate their value. All that will happens is a restructuring of their debt if they are lucky, and if not, well then someone else will buy them and make them profitable again. That’s the way shit works in the real world. Boo hoo. Here’s a thought for next time: Don’t be greedy and screw everyone and then maybe Karma will not chew your ass up.
The microphone is yours sir. We stand on the precipice. Will you lead us into the truth or will you let the shadowy dark continue to deceive us into oblivion?

China used this fiasco as cover to exterminate the ones put on the trains in Hong Kong. The western bankers who have been getting overnight bailouts since last fall are using this for their cover. The numbers are a bald faced lie as false cause of death are put on paperwork on orders of the bankers’ political lackeys.

This just doesn’t have the whiff of bio warfare. Not in the traditional sense anyway. There have been so many flu sicknesses coming out of there over the years it’s hard to believe this one was on purpose.
I think it started out as a cover up to save face and evolved into a total opportunistic situation to just fuck everyone over while their burning ship was going down.
We give way to much credit to things being done “on purpose”. It doesn’t seem to me they put the smartest people in charge, just the most brutal.
The entire country pretty much operates in the Gray Market. They don’t honor patents. They export a huge number of counterfeit goods. For crying out loud, remember the pet food debacle? They are the number one maker of fentanyl. They simply don’t give a flying fuck about the consequences as long as money comes in. Their cigarettes contain the most heavy metals. They store their honey in barrels lined with lead. LEAD. They are number one in honey laundering. Think about that. Just read this article:

Honey Laundering Trails All Lead to China

There is nothing they will not counterfeit, fake, scam, or re-create. Nothing if it makes a profit.
Wrap your head around this: THEY. DO. NOT. CARE. ABOUT. ANYTHING. EXCEPT. THE. MONEY.
So take that, paint a nice veneer of communism over it all, and voila! Swine/bird/bat flu.
Besides, if you give nature a chance it will totally eat your ass for breakfast every single time.

Except the documentation and examination of the genome of the virus indicates that the etiology of this virus is chimerical and created in a lab and not a natural occurring zoonotic virus. It has strands of SARS and HIV, two viruses that, in nature, would not combine.
How it was released remains a question, suspicions point to a researcher at the Wuhan lab as being patient Zero. Seems all mention of her has been scrubbed from the website. Then there is the virologist who has been researching bat viruses, also in Wuhan and since the outbreak, seems the Wuhan lab is now under Chinese military control.

The documentary video included here covers the background of the virus really well, the video is essentially an anti-Communist Chinese production, but the background material and research covered is very much in line with all the other research journals and articles I’ve read.

If you go back and really listen to some of the experts, they liken the security protocols there to the same horrible ones that were being used at USAMRID (and are no longer the case). I think Shi-whatever-her-name-is fucked up and some got out due to either bad protocols or some moron trying to sneak it out on purpose to sell it to someone else and it got away from them. Viruses have a way of doing that. I am picking bad protocols. Everyone knows Chinese made goods are crap so what’s to say their lab was any better? You think anyone at all in the CCP ruling party worried about a dirty lab or lax protocols? Gimme a break.
Look…a lab is only as good as the worst scientist/tech that works there. We have all worked with morons who make our lives terrible because they are buffoons. I am very very SURE some retarded nephew of some CCP party big-wig got a job based on connections and not skill and so the world turns on some sausage-fingered doofus in a lab coat.
Really, we give these people way too much credit.
Yes, the US gave these idiots millions, and that was very very bad. Bad because..well, they really don’t like us and they are not known for doing things the right way only the “party” way. Again..not known for suave and symphonic like handling of things. More like hammer meets head.

This entire episode is basically the meeting of fantasy and reality. There is more misinformation being put out than truth and common sense. We have a very serious pandemic, something we only see about every 100yrs. It had the potential to overwhelm our systems without some very drastic measures. It posed the risk of social disorder and break down if those systems were overwhelmed. I wish people were rational and responsible, but they are not, and for the most part, it is not reasonable to expect them to act that way.
Our economy has been built on the fantasy of inflated values, and now we are faced with either perpetuating that fantasy, by religious belief in the power of the Fed, or the crash that will come from admitting reality. Dealing with the ramifications of realizing the assets we use to calculate our wealth are not worth what we deceive ourselves to believe.
There are times in history when great mistakes have been made, and we wonder how people could have believed what they did. I think looking back in the future, this will be one of those.

Every flu season has the “potential” to overwhelm our systems yet we don’t shut down the whole damn country for it. ” From April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010, CDC estimated there were 60.8 million cases (range: 43.3-89.3 million), 274,304 hospitalizations (range: 195,086-402,719), and 12,469 deaths (range: 8868-18,306) in the United States due to the (H1N1)pdm09 virus.” source: the frickin CDC. Wasn’t even a blip on the screen. Social disorder IS GOING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE OF THE SHUT DOWN.
What do you think is going to happen to all those millions of unemployed people? Hmm? You think they will be amused when the airlines get a bailout and they are standing in bread lines?
Rational and responsible is up to the individual. Not the government. They are the least rational and have shown themselves to be completely feckless with money and resources. Not a shining example. At all.

I never said it was the regular flu. The H1N1 had a higher mortality rate and yet we did not shut the country down for that. That is my point. Why shut it down at all? The mortality numbers are not matching the doom and gloom numbers. It’s 24/7 panic button. And I never said I personally was unprepared. What I said was there will be social unrest because of the shut down. It will not go well. If you think there won’t be social unrest due to the massive unemployment caused on purpose than you know zero about how the human race works.

I never said it was the regular flu. The H1N1 had a higher mortality rate and yet we did not shut the country down for that.

Um, sorry, that statement is wrong. Actually Corona virus has globally killed more people in five weeks than H1N1 did in an entire year. Remember, during the H1N1 epidemic Obama was president and according to the media, could do no wrong so they didn’t do the 24/7 freakout with H1N1 like they are doing at present with Trump. Additionally, no flu epidemic ever caused China to completely shut down and quarantine over three quarters of a billion people as has happened with Corona virus. Much of what is happening with the quarantining is based on China’s actions.

How valid the quarantine will prove to be going forward remains to be seen. The devil is going to hold sway regardless of how things go, the Fed and all the banking and corporate entities have created a monster and that monster will devour the country for many years to come.

Coronavirus has officially killed more Americans in five weeks than H1N1 did in a year

From April 2009 to April 2010, 12,459 people in the United States died from the H1N1 virus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Coronavirus has now claimed the lives of more Americans than H1N1, Johns Hopkins University data shows. The first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in the U.S. Jan. 21 and the first death occurred Feb. 29.
As of April 7, 12,722 people have died in the United States from coronavirus. It has killed 81,865 people worldwide.

Total bullshit. H1N1 killed 18,500 people nationwide and that is without the hospitals being paid by Medicare to record every admittance as Swine flu. It’s just the fucking flu. Now get back in the kitchen and make them sandwiches.

Senator Dr. Scott Jensen: Right now Medicare is determining that if you have a COVID-19 admission to the hospital you get $13,000. If that COVID-19 patient goes on a ventilator you get $39,000, three times as much. Nobody can tell me after 35 years in the world of medicine that sometimes those kinds of things impact on what we do.

Last night Senator Dr. Scott Jensen from Minnesota went on The Ingraham Angle to discuss how the AMA is encouraging American doctors to overcount coronavirus deaths across the US.

This was after Dr. Scott Jensen, a Minnesota physician and Republican state senator, told a local station he received a 7-page document coaching him to fill out death certificates with a COVID-19 diagnosis without a lab test to confirm the patient actually had the virus.

Dr. Jensen also disclosed that hospitals are paid more if they list patients with a COVID-19 diagnosis.
And hospitals get paid THREE TIMES AS MUCH if the patient then goes on a ventilator.

Oh yes and John Hopkins is never wrong. Ha. Please. CDC is directing docs to put cause of death for every damn thing as Covid. It’s in writing. Get your head out of your ass knot and see what’s really happening.

Nope, not the regular flu, but even less . If the maffs is too hard fer ye , then continue to freak the fuck out, hide in your basement until the good government man comes to tell you all is clear and you may once again venture out into sunshine of a new day… that is until you’re told to scurry back in , because another flu season is upon us. Get your testosterone checked. You seem a little low , unless you’re a womanz . If so, carry on in your natural state.

In point of fact I’ve pointed out since I started writing on this topic way back when the virus first hit the news that there was a very good chance that was the case — that the back-calculations I’ve done say that this bug was not new in late January or early February, that it was here at least through the flu season and maybe well before that.

That, of course, also makes all of the lockdowns a fraud and every day they continue from this day forward a crime greater than any ever committed by any government, save perhaps the genocides of Hitler, Pol Pot and similar.

You can’t justify maintaining lockdowns and such for even one day in the face of data like this; it’s flat-out jaw-dropping.

Flu deaths due to flu epidemics and pandemics

The world has seen five pandemics during the last century, which took a large number of lives. Here are the figures of deaths that occurred in the United States and Worldwide during those years.

1. 1889 Russian Flu Pandemic – about 1 million flu deaths

2. “Spanish flu” A of 1918-19 caused the highest number of influenza-related deaths: approximately 500,000 deaths occurred in the U.S. and 20 million worldwide. That figure is more than the total number of deaths caused by the World War one — 16 million. As a matter of fact, during that year, the flu had killed more people than any other illness in recorded history.

3. “Asian flu” A of 1957-58 caused 70,000 deaths in the United States and about one million to two million deaths worldwide

4. “Hong-Kong flu” A of 1968-69 resulted in 34,000 deaths in the United States and an estimated one million to three million people died worldwide.

5. 2009 H1N1 Flu Pandemic – about 18,300 deaths in the United States and up to 203,000 deaths worldwide

Well don’t lump all us women into the same hysterical casserole. I was at the gas station today, sans mask, and some giant mofo, had to go at least 250, 6 feet easy, with a mask, skirted around me like my head was on fire. I almost broke out laughing. The other guy behind me, a solid 5’7″ also sans mask, looked at me and was like “really?” and we kind of shared an eye roll. Pathetic.

Based on his moniker and his comments on here, he’s likely one of the ones who either feeds at the trough or has fed at the trough. Pay him no heed. He’s an annoying chigger bite that can cause a serious infection if you itch it.

I rarely envy anyone for anything, but I envy Mr K for coming up with that wonderful image. Well done, sir!
