FUNCTIONAL ILLITERATES TRYING TO ERASE HISTORY

Written in August 2017 when the leftists first started pulling down statues. It applies perfectly again today. My conclusions stand.

“True patriotism sometimes requires of men to act exactly contrary, at one period, to that which it does at another, and the motive which impels them the desire to do right is precisely the same.” Robert E. Lee

I consider myself a student of history. I’ve always been fascinated by the personalities who drove events throughout history. I probably would have been a history major in college if I didn’t feel the need to make enough money to support myself and my family. I chose a business major and decided studying history would be my hobby. Over the years I’ve taken a particular interest in the Civil War. You could even call me a Civil War buff.

I’ve probably read 60 books on the Civil War, from Bruce Catton, Shelby Foote and numerous other historians. I’ve visited the Gettysburg battlefield a half dozen times, as it is only 150 miles from my home. My basement office is decorated with six prints depicting various scenes from the Civil War. One depicts Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson at Fredericksburg, another depicts Jackson leading his troops through Richmond, another depicts Grant taking command of Union forces, another shows Chamberlain leading the charge down Little Round Top, another portrays Lee and Longstreet making the fateful decision to send Pickett’s men on their futile charge into history, and the last showing the slaughter during Pickett’s charge.

I’ve even taken an executive education course in leadership where the final day is a trip to Gettysburg where a park ranger guides you through the three day battle and the professor asks you to assess the leadership shown by officers on both sides during that tide turning battle. My fascination with the Civil War isn’t based on rooting for one side or the other. I wanted to understand the motivations of the main characters and understand why and how they fought that bloody war. There were so many fateful decisions, errors of judgement, acts of courage, acts of cowardice, brilliantly bold maneuvers, and just plain good and bad luck.

Robert E. Lee, before the outbreak of the war, was overwhelmingly regarded as the finest military mind in the U.S. army. Winfield Scott offered him command of all Union forces at the outbreak of hostilities. But he chose allegiance to his state of Virginia, rather than the Federal government. He didn’t fight for slavery. He freed his slaves. He was fighting for states’ rights. He was an honorable God fearing noble man. Stonewall Jackson was an extremely religious man who waged war with a passion, but also taught Sunday School to slaves. Lee and Jackson must be viewed in the context of the 19th century rather than being judged by the standards of the 21st century.

The vast majority of Confederate soldiers who did the fighting and dying during that war didn’t own slaves. They weren’t fighting to maintain slavery. They were fighting because a foreign army had invaded their land. In 1860 this nation was more an amalgamation of states than a centralized government. States still had a tremendous amount of power and leeway to run their states the way they chose. The ever increasing power of a central authority occurred during and after the Civil War. The South were not the bad guys. Their leaders, generals and soldiers were not evil. They were Americans.

The revisionist history now being peddled by the left wing media and their non-thinking acolytes lacks a factual basis, historical context and a true understanding of history. The Civil War was the climax of decades of tension between the North and the South over states’ rights, economic policies, slavery, and a myriad of other complex issues. Examined within the context of generational theory, it was a Fourth Turning that was unavoidable. It was a crucial important event in U.S. history. It wasn’t the shameful episode portrayed by the brain dead faux journalists babbling on CNN and MSNBC.

Illegally pulling down statues of Confederate soldiers and taking videos of “brave” unemployed liberal arts major social justice warriors kicking the Confederate soldier is what passes for activism in today’s warped society. Liberal mayors and city councils across the south are falling all over themselves wasting time and taxpayer money to remove statues of Confederate generals to appease the left and make a display of how anti-racist they can be. Meanwhile, their cities are bankrupt, their infrastructure is decaying, black crime is rampant and their education systems matriculate functionally illiterate deranged snowflakes into society.

Image result for toppled statue durham nc Image result for toppled statue durham nc

These courageous left wing politicians, like the mayor of New Orleans, have statues removed in the middle of the night to avoid protests by those who understand you cannot erase history by removing statues and names. In a hysterical development, Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh on Monday said in a statement she intended to move forward in removing several city statutes, including those of Lee and Stonewall Jackson. I suppose the soaring murder rate, blacks rioting and burning down neighborhoods, crumbling infrastructure, failing schools, and white flight is due to a few Confederate statues. It’s good to see this diverse mayor has her priorities in order.

The ignorance and disregard for history knows no bounds for generations taught to feel rather think in our government run indoctrination centers known as public schools. The left wing media reinforces their ignorance with misinformation, fake news and government sanctioned propaganda. Snowflakes across the land melt at anything they are instructed to find offensive. Everything and everyone who doesn’t agree with their half baked views are declared racists.

Pointing out that leftist antifa thugs, without permits to protest, initiated the violence in Charlottesville is racist. The uproar against Trump’s truthful assessment of the situation by CNN, MSNBC and Fox proves there isn’t a wit of difference among these corporate media outlets. True colors are revealed. The ongoing coup attempt against Trump continues unabated.

Trump’s impromptu press conference and his push back of this false narrative was a thing of beauty. The hypocrisy of the left and their utter contempt for facts must be thrown back in their faces at every opportunity. Across the country, 718 Confederate monuments and statues remain, with nearly 300 of them in Georgia, Virginia or North Carolina. There are also 109 public schools named for Robert E. Lee, Confederate President Jefferson Davis or other icons of the Civil War-era South. Will the left be satisfied when all 718 monuments are destroyed and all 109 schools are renamed Oprah Winfrey Middle School? No. They will find something else to be offended about, and violently attack again.

The funniest part about watching these social justice warriors wail and gnash their teeth about the racism of these monuments is knowing these unemployed functional illiterates couldn’t tell you when the Civil War occurred, name two major battles, name five generals, provide a death count within 250,000, or fill in the blank in the phrase Surrender at __________. They don’t know jack shit about history, the Civil War, Lincoln’s true feelings about blacks, or the fact the Democratic Party is the party which suppressed blacks for one hundred years following the Civil War. Only truly ignorant snowflakes think they can erase history by protesting it and trying to destroy monuments to those who fought and died for a cause they believed in.

Do these left wing zealots have any sense of awareness? Maybe they were too busy studying for their gender studies finals to see the reports of the Taliban destroying ancient Buddhist monuments in territory they had captured. Zealots, terrorists, and extremists attempt to destroy symbols that offend them as a way to prove their strength and power. In reality, they destroy what others have built in a feckless effort to boost their self-esteem. Intellectual lightweights attempt to bring others down because they realize their lack of intelligence and inability to get ahead in life has to be blamed on someone else.

The man who helped blow up the Bamiyan Buddhas - BBC News

If these social justice warrior weaklings were transported back in time 154 years to the Gettysburg battlefield where real men displayed real courage and bravery, they would be covered in their own urine cowering behind a tree as Pickett’s charge commenced. Could you imagine any of the Soros paid professional antifa protestors charging across an open field towards certain death? Those pussies would be high tailing it south as fast as their fashion designer sneakers would take them.

Trump was absolutely correct in asking, “Where does it end?” Washington owned slaves. Do we get rid of all dollar bills and quarters? Do we change the name of our capital? Do we change the name of Washington & Lee University to Obama & Spike Lee University? Do we blow up the Washington Memorial? Jefferson owned slaves. Do we get rid of nickles? How about the Jefferson Memorial?

Why stop only in our country? The Egyptian pyramids were built by slaves. Should we tear those down? If these are symbols of hatred and racism that must be destroyed, why do we never hear calls from the left for the destruction of the Nazi death camps. Talk about symbols of hate. Why would we want to remember the holocaust? It couldn’t be that it doesn’t fit the left’s narrative.

This Confederate monument narrative is designed by the left to provoke a backlash from whites who are tired of being scorned, ridiculed, belittled and called racists, rednecks and deplorables by so called open minded progressives. It’s working. The cold race war is beginning to turn hot. The president has no intention of trying to bring the two sides together because it’s impossible at this point. That’s how Fourth Turnings roll. The mood of the country will continue to darken. Reactions to these types of events will intensify. More blood will be shed. It’s too bad these functional illiterates didn’t pay attention in history class or ever read a book. They are going to learn some harsh lessons over the next decade.

“We’re doomed to repeat the past no matter what. That’s what it is to be alive. It’s pretty dense kids who haven’t figured that out by the time they’re ten.”Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

Wow facts suck when 13.3% of the population with an average IQ of 85 or below take control and perch themselves on a pedastol demanding equality but no accountability or responsibility for their actions . Yes reality and truth cannot defeat the bigetry of the true left and their NAZI IDEALS . They can call themselves progressives or democrat , doesn’t matter they win we all lose !

I’m not from the south but don’t know why people from the north or the west or anywhere else for that matter have anything to say about which people are honored in any town or city that is not theirs. First of all, they were all Americans and were not traitors, but staunch defenders of their home state.

Here in Las Vegas there is talk of renaming McCarran International Airport which was named after Pat McCarran, a Democratic US Senator from Nevada from 1933 to 1954. Why? Well, because “McCarran left a legacy of racism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism” according to Nevada Democrats Reps. Dina Titus, Ruben Kihuen, and Jacky Rosen among others.

So what do they want to name it? Well, only after one of the most partisan hacks to ever be a US Senator, Harry Reid of course. Yeah, that same scary Reid that said “Robert Byrd’s was one of the greatest minds the world has ever seen.”

The same scary Reid that said of Obama, “…as a black candidate, he could be successful thanks in part to his light-skinned appearance and speaking patterns with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

The deplorables are racist but statements like that get a pass time after time from the left when it is one of their own saying it. Sorry to say, but I don’t think this kind of think will end until all us deplorables are in FEMA camps or dead, or vice versa.

Destruction of Bamiyan Buddhas
August 15, 2017

Nothing new under the sun.

When a new cult of illiterate, religious fanatics takes over…
“Former cultural monuments, particularly if they are of a religious nature, are pulled down,”
========

by K. Kris Hirst

Updated August 09, 2017

In March 2001, six months before the September 11th bombing of the World Trade Center in New York City, the Taliban destroyed two ancient statues of the Buddha called Bamiyan in an attempt to cleanse the country of Afghanistan of what they perceived as Hindu heresy.

AN OLD STORY

To be perfectly blunt, this is an old story. New landowners of a country move in and do their best to obliterate all traces of the conquered and now minority population.

Former cultural monuments, particularly if they are of a religious nature, are pulled down, and monuments for the new group built, frequently right on the top of the foundations of the old. The old languages are forbidden or limited, along with other cultural phenomena such as marriage customs, rites of initiation, even food taboos.

“The hypocrisy of the left and their utter contempt for facts must be thrown back in their faces at every opportunity.” another hit. But once again,, lets zero in on that hypocrisy.. How many “refugees” are settling in Tel Aviv ? Who is it that has the entire Palestinian population marked for extinction? And thats just the warm up act. Ready for Gaza 2.0 Merica?

Admin,
The comments in that piece could not be more spot on.

The antifa shitbags are essentially the early stage Brownshirts for the national socialists who have become a major force in Washington. It’s laughable to hear them, antifa or blm, talk about being anti fascist when it’s fascists who are also socialists funding those fools.

National socialism is an excellent system for power hungry filth that wants to rule normal people. In some respects it’s a secular version of Islam.

Admin – I believe you do not adequately allow for the personal nature of these issues. Some people have educated, informed reasons to object to certain historical events or people. Most folks are clueless, as you rightly say, but not all.

For instance, my eternal enmity toward Andrew Jackson is well known. Many here believe he is a hero. I believe he was a monster. He was directly, and malevolently, responsible for the deaths of thousands of children, women, aged, and men of my tribe, and for the deaths of many more thousands of Cherokee and others. Do you think I want memorials to him? To have his face on bills? Hardly. I am not trying to rewrite history – I wish it acknowledged. Monuments to him are an affront to my tribe, pure and simple.

For instance, some pedophile priests otherwise did great deeds. Would monuments to them be ok? Not hardly. Or to the masters responsible for the starvation deaths of millions of Irish? I suspect they exist, but they damn sure should not.

As you say, the vast majority have no idea about what the civil war was about. They think it was about slavery. Educated folks know differently.

But I can not blame any informed black person who would seek the removal of any monument to a slave owner. It is a personal issue. The racism toward blacks was real (and still is in many instances) and continued for a very long time. Sure, it was the nature of the times. But for those whose ancestors suffered – and suffer they did – it is understandable that they would object to monuments to those that inflicted suffering. Memories die hard. It takes hundreds of years. I assure all that enmity still exists in the south toward the north as a result of the Civil War.

I am not suggesting what is happening is good. I have a right to object to Jackson, and would happily see any and all monuments to him removed. It is, I believe, an informed position. The actions of Jackson damaged my tribe severely, and the repercussions are felt to this day.

Most of these protestors are ignorant and are responding to, well, nothing really. They are just part of the crowd. I have no issues, though, with them trying through legitimate means to get monuments removed. Protest is a right. Tearing them down without legal authority is a crime and needs to be punished.

Dan – well reasoned comments. You know that is not allowed around here. You will give the place a bad name.

I have left the US for many reasons. One such is that I am not prepared to do battle with the ignorant masses. As unfortunate as it at times seems, those ignorant masses have rights of protest and right to be represented and heard, no matter how stupid. I will not be the one to fight against them. They will suffer the consequences, ultimately, of their stupidity. And who am I to deny them that opportunity.

If the Jackson monuments come with a big placard describing the atrocities he committed, I would be ok with them, then. But the history of his crimes are not known well, nor advertised.

There was very significant opposition to his actions at the time. He very well knew what he was doing, but hey, it was just Indians, and he wanted the land. I do not think his murders should be forgotten, nor his other achievements celebrated. Some deeds outweigh any good and cannot be forgiven.

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness: your comments add an interesting perspective to this conversation that is commonly overlooked: i.e. the personal nature of crimes and the victims natural and rightful desire for vindication. While I share your repulsion toward the crimes committed by Andrew Jackson, I also can’t help but smile when I think about the look on Henry Clay’s face when the doors of the second bank shut for good. I hope their is no crime that can not be forgiven as this duality of action seems to run through each man (obviously the proportion differing for some to a greater extent than others). Bu it reminds me of this quote:

“If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?” Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn

BTW- I think you are smart to have removed yourself from the ensuing melee. If I had the resources and courage, I’d do the same. Though I think the southern part of central Chile would suit me better.

With all wild game one might not encounter in Better Homes and Gardens menu pages, I suggest cooking for extended hours in a Dutch Oven kept baking (outdoors) or in a crockpot on a slow simmer indoors over night. I like to add quite a bit of LEMON Slices to the seasoning blend to cut the gamey flavor some of the muskier animals seem to have.

Now, if you are fortunate enough to have found a nest of gophers and raised them for a good 14 to 16 weeks and you know what they have eaten and what types of bacteria they may demonstrate in their compost matter (nice term for shit, eh?), then thump the little buggers and cook them on the BBQ! Marinate in some good southern whiskey to make sure all the “bugs” are dead.

Hey MASTER,
Get a clue. The Antifa, and the Alt (ultra) Right
were both stocked with FBI and useful idiots
paid by somebody. The cops were in on it,
funneling the Right people into the arms of the
BLM etc. folks.

This is part of a (long played/repeated) play called,
disruption campaign, and it copies the other plays
we have seen. The goal, among others, is to befoul
Trump. The statues are colorful and tools to give
an “excuse” to the whole adventure. Nonetheless,
the FBI fakers are able to use idiots to carry out
their scheme.

Watch carefully who supports these actions, for
they are in collusion with the dark underground
gov. Make a list.

Folks, Virginia’s Governor McAuliffe IS IGNORANT OF HISTORY AND THE REAL REASON FOR THE CIVIL WAR!!!! IT WAS NOT SLAVERY!!! The Southern plantations were selling their cotton to Europe because they paid a better price and their machinery was cheaper than in the North. The North got a Tariff passed that hurt the Plantations.and caused the Southern States to secede!!! IT WAS NEVER ABOUT SLAVERY!!!! SO TEACH THE TRUTH AND LEAVE THE CONFEDERATE MEMORIALS ALONE!!!!

Excellent essay Admin! I’m sharing it. Hopefully it wakes a few people up that I know.

As you pointed out, we have seen efforts made throughout time to change/erase/deny history. General Eisenhower studied history and knew human nature. As WWII was ending in his theater, he went into the concentration camps and saw the horrors of what was going on. He wanted these gruesome scenes recorded and preserved because he knew there would come a time people would deny this ever occurred. Maybe the records would be erased and videos destroyed. https://www.awesomestories.com/asset/view/EISENHOWER-S-PROOF-Holocaust-Evidence

Admin is really juiced up ….. ain’t he?

I especially love all the dumbfuk comments (looking at you and your ilk, Seth) for it truly illustrates the damn near hopeless division in America.

I love the comment way above about simply not wanting to live with these people. I’m sure they don’t want to live with me either. So, why can’t we come to a peaceful resolution, whether secessionn or other means. I’m even willing to give away the entire state of NJ at no charge.

About the ABHORRENT removing of Confederate statues …. specifically, that history is being ,”erased”. Folks, that just ain’t so.

First, with the exception of Jesus, there are literally more books written about the CW than any other topic.

Second, we live in the Internet Age. How much info is available at your fingertips? Millions of pages, if not more?

Lastly, the South lives in my heart. ? The more I read about folks like Gen. Lee, the more I respect, admire, and love them. Let those fucken haters try to take that, if even possible, and I will kill them on the spot. (Every man has a breaking point whereby he says “This far, but no further!!”).

So, go ahead and tear down another one, you fuckers. It changes NOTHING! Except, with each tearing down you add to my Cup Of Wrath, for I am keeping score. And, when it is full — only God knows that day — there will be hell to pay such as you can’t imagine.

Stucky,

In case you dont know about Asheville, NC, consider this as a warning. Your cup of wrath will be overflowing every time you happen to venture into the downtown area. What a fucking freakshow. It’s much worse in summer on weekends, but they’re in evidence 24/7/365. I know a few locals & they hate what the area has become. If you want mountains, the corner of NC near VA & TN is better. Check out TN’s tax structure. I’ve heard it’s good for retirees. NC & VA property taxes are all over the place too. Search & research.

In fact, I found a property with TWO log cabins — one is a small one bedroom guest cabin (perfect for my parents!) — in Murphy NC, in the far southwest part of the state.

But, alas dad is unwilling to move. At his age mom said he can,t deal with the upheaval. Shit! Mom also said he was just placating me in the library a few days ago.

Looks like I’m StuckInNJ a little while longer.

The Confederates fought for States’ rights. Yes, the RIGHT TO OWN SLAVES. The Confederate statutes were thrown up by Jim Crow radicalism. They should all be tossed away like the Germans did to Nazi BULL CRAP. The Confederates LOST their fight to enable their STATES to have SLAVERY.

So if it was all about states rights, why did the Confederate Constitution require member states to have slavery? Shouldn’t that have been a decision left up to each individual state?

Just wondering….

Because compromise had been tried and failed to work.
Before the war, Calhoun, Clay and Webster put together a plan that admitted one “free” state and one “slave” state in each admission, to keep the numbers relatively stable. That worked, sort of; but then the North refused to keep parts of the compromise, and then the Morrill Tariff (mentioned above) created even more problems.
Likely the requirement for slavery in the Confederate Constitution was to make sure the Confederacy could not be diluted by admitting “free” states that might eventually betray the others during the war.

Staggering, Mr. Quinn. Absolutely staggering yet simple post. Thank you.
I’m going to presume you’ve read all eight volumes of Alan Nevins historical accounts of events leading up to and then covering our civil war.
Having taken the time to read those volumes (Nevins times and therefore his usage of old American-English is beautifully satisfying) and assorted books on Lincoln and others related to that time period (I’m leading up to a question), wouldn’t you concur that our American Civil War was highly Germanic
In nature?
No author that wants to sell books would ever say such things as the overwhelming influx of Poles, Prussians and whoever else washing upon our shores from the Sudetanlands uprising of 1855 could and indeed did add fuel to what was already smoldering here in America. Nor would any author simply conclude that Thomas Jefferson was our first psychopathic President. Merely call him conflicted.
And so, to conclude and intertwine our thoughts ( your great post and my reawakening old hypothesis long held from long ago) isn’t it illuminating that a neo Buchanon (Obama or whatever his real name is) and an overwhelming influx of immigrants takes our country to the same conclusion, almost?
I say almost because there’s no way the Feds like in the mid 1800s are going to be caught off guard by sniveling states righters (don’t shoot the messenger yet, that was sarcasm). No, what I propose we’ll see is an abundance of Missouri/Kansas conflicts coming and going before the Feds show up (if at all).
Thanks for the post and the ability to muse.

It is amazing how ignorant so many are about current events in the country and in the world. They do not realize that being a citizen of this country carries a responsibility to be informed so that our way of life is not stamped out by the rising tide of communism. The Bolshevik mentality is taking hold among the young through our education system. This is not good. People in the know have to speak out more. As I am doing.

There’s civil was memorials all over the place in Missouri. Blue and Gray Park, a wildlife reserve, actually is not too far away. A memorial to the Burning of Dayton is south of here. The courthouse in Lexington, Missouri still has a cannon ball in the wall. Another memorial of the battle is a couple miles from there.
Will they come to Missouri to wipe out all the memorials here? They might just have to set the whole damn state on fire.

I rarely go off on a wild tangent but if it isn’t too much, you have to support Trump’s saber-rattling. It smacks of fear-mongering to trade barbs with Kim Jung-boom. What’s the next big threat? Already the country is going into conniptions over the threat of nucular war.

It’s time to call the government’s bluff. Let’s roll with the nukes. Stop with the hand puppet boogie man. They already nuked Japan in Fukushima, they nuked eastern Europe in Chernobyl, they nuked NYC on 9/11. What the fuck is so scary?

Robert Oppenheimer was afraid the first bomb would set the atmosphere on fire and prayerfully named the test site, Trinity Site. We now know that bombs are limited in damage capacity by size.
Sure, they paint the pics of whole cities burning to the ground with one bomb. They reinforce it with the nuclear detonation in the movie Alien.

It seems to me, the deterrent value of the bomb is in controlling the population. Somehow, the bomb in the military’s hands has given the government the winning ace, the people fear a government that can start a nuclear war. That can only lead to despotism.

@John, I did not create that video so I can’t repost it to Vimeo. Sometimes if YouTube is too slow I opt to download it, but did not in this case. There are probably some similar videos still available that have not been censored by YouTube. I did not find anything particularly violent in that video, but it was from a pro First Amendment/Free Speech attendee, so that is likely what YouTube got worked up about. Can’t have those Constitutional viewpoints, can we?

Also, why do you assume I use Google drive? I hate Goolag and don’t use their search engine (Use Startpage instead!). When content grows more on alternative video sites, I will ditch YouTube as well.

The left bias of Faceplant, YouBoob, and Goolag is disgusting.

There are plenty of videos of the event still up on YouTube that show violence–like this one, which clearly shows the breakdown by Charlottesville police (and VA State Police), who made the permit holders go through a gauntlet of Antifa counter protestors who where pelting the lawful protestors with all kinds of projectiles. This appeared to be done on purpose by the police (or just plain incompentence):

I’m glad this article has drawn such support. It gives me hope as there are Americans who know history. I’m nowhere near Jim Quinn in Civil War history but I’ve done some of my own research and there’s a lot more to know than what the media tells us is the correct narrative.

Southerners weren’t racist, and they were fighting because the Union Army was in their territory. Lee, Jackson… upright and honorable men, known for valor and integrity, now smeared as 19th Century versions of Nazi racial theorists and practitioners. The Southern Cross, a beautiful standard, made the equivalent of the Nazi flag.

Once one knows enough of the truth, these comparisons would be comedic if they weren’t so widespread and so widely accepted as gospel. But with articles such as the one Jim wrote, liberation from the oppression of brainwashing can be experienced. I wrote a pretty long text on my FB and already I’m getting reactions from people who are now seeing that there are many non-racist and very normal and patriotic American citizens who want to preserve those statues – people who would never associate with white supremacists or white nationalists.

It feels good to make the blind see. Jim Quinn probably knows this feeling all too well.

Jim, Thanks for such a great post. I learn a lot of things from you!

I’ve been stuck on the idea that a lot of this unrest and dis-ease is due to the bad state of the economy. There’s a lot of anger, especially with blacks as they are hit worse when the economy is not functioning well. And it’s not thanks to countless idiots in government.

Trump might have been able to help. He is on the right track in many, many ways– he just needed a little assistance and help. (note that I’m using past tense). But people are too stupid. Instead they apparently want another Globalist politician–LIKE THOSE WHO BROUGHT OUR COUNTRY TO THE POINT OF RUIN!!

There is a pothole in front of my house. It has been there for quite some time. Calls have been made by myself and others to have it fixed. Yet still it lurks. This week someone came by to fix it the only way a government can.

I missed this entire thread but reading thru these comments captures the essence of the importance of symbols, statues and ideas. I have been away on vacation for a week to Cape Breton with my in-laws driving the Cabot Trail.

They rode bikes.

I occasionally hiked, took pictures and drove one of the cars.

At the end of five days we all gathered for a dinner in Baddeck to look back on trip.

Once done with stories of the trip some of us turned to current events. The latest missteps by Trump being one of topics discussed. I have apparently now developed a reputation of expressing controversial views in polite conversation that confront the confirmation bias and group think so prevalent these days. I blame that on TBP. When it was my turn for an opinion of riots and aftermath of Charlottesville, I gave it. It seemed obvious to me that wasn’t President Trump’s fault. Blame should better rest on the police. They were the ones that failed to keep the opposing camps apart.

There was a time when Robert E. Lee was an unquestioned hero. Not anymore. The Left have seized on tearing him down along with any and all symbols they alone deem offensive. Trump was correct in asking where does it end because if the Left wins on this hill they will just proceed to the next.

With the center being pulled towards the ends it appears most everyone seems too be oblivious to the looming danger of a new and dangerous phase. In the end all it will take for the greater catastrophe of this 4th turning to occur is someone watching the lines too closely to not see the oncoming ruts in the road.
