Three NYPD officers were poisoned at a Shake Shack on Broadway in Manhattan Monday night, according to New York Benevolent Police Association (PBA) and confirmed by the Detectives’ Endowment Association.
“At some point during their meal period, the MOS discovered that a toxic substance, believed to be bleach, had been placed in their beverages,” reads a statement from PBA President Patrick Lynch, who added that the contamination was not discovered until the officers had already consumed some of their beverages.
The NYPD Detectives’ Endowment Association tweeted on Monday that three officers were “intentionally poisoned by one or more workers at the Shake Shack at 200 Broadway in Manhattan” are responsible, adding that none of the officers were seriously harmed.

A while back there was a case in Texas where teen-age fast-food restaurant workers refused to serve certain “law enforcement” personnel. The news media jumped all over the fast-food workers, criticizing and lambasting them for not showing “respect” to these porkers.
Now, for the rest of the story…
It turns out that the porkers who were refused service were constantly harassing these fast-food workers, writing them tickets for “equipment violations” and for other harassment reasons, and stopping them on false pretexts, “just because they could”.
A ticket issued to a young fast-food worker could amount to a whole week’s pay. Of course, the porkers didn’t care.
They quite often laughed about rousting these young kids.
These fast-food workers fought back the only way they could…
They did lose their jobs, but did develop a healthy wariness for porkers…
You know bleach can kill you if you ingest enough of it, right? You ok with that?
I do not condone tainting of one’s food EVER. That being said, those who tainted the food should be charged tried and convicted appropriately.
I am merely bringing up the point that actions have consequences. Police are suffering “blowback” perhaps unnecessarily, but that is the situation today. Those with a grudge against police see only the uniform and not the individual wearing it.
Maybe if police reigned in their “bad apples” and were denied immunity, things might change, but I am not holding my breath.

Agreed, but a lot of people bring the problems with police on to themselves. Especially black men. Their community should teach them that once the police have you, no amount of attitude or fighting is going make them un-have you. They’re better off being non-confrontational, because the place to fight the cops is after the fact, in court.

We had a case like this in a California oilfield I worked at in the late 1980s. Three pumpers got quite sick at work all at the same time and CalOSHA was called in to investigate. First thing they did was go to the coffee machine and sample the contents. After discussions with night time cleaning crew they found that the cleaning crew had filled the coffee pot with scale removal solution, placed the pot on the warmer pad atop the unit, and had forgotten about it. The pumpers came in early and made their coffee as per normal, drank the scale removal solution, and all fell sick at the same time. Mystery solved in less that 6 hours.

Shake Shak can insure the safety of the public. I am sure this will never happen again after several weeks of inspections, new Policy and Procedure, HR retraining, etc.
Also new, ‘fast food safety tax.’
The attempted murder by poisoning of the NYPD police officers will be celebrated by the Negroes and Antifa as a victory over oppression.
I hope the city will close the Shake Shack permanently – there shall be no violent demonstrations or riots over this event – and that the officers are OK and sue the fucking bastards that worked there and the owners into penury.

Likely will be the best post in this commentary. I hate seeing such un-Christian activity on both sides, but it is to be expected when there has been such a long train of abuses. My concern is that Robespierre is going to kill off all the folks calling for moderation.

I’ve had a couple of routine stops where the cops weren’t very nice – in fact, they were assholes. But I was polite, respectful and didn’t respond in-kind and I got to drive away with no bruises, my life, and a just ticket. I beat one of the tickets in court afterwards, which is the proper place to fight the cops.
So the State is represented by the cops as enforcement, and the State adjudication is carried out by the courts. In the meantime, many of the people who you expect to go to court to adjudicate said cases have seen rampant abuse by the State with bailouts, asset forfeiture, you name it.
We’re already past the point where the radicals among the populace are willing to take the path you prescribe. Why expect the normies to continue to do the same?
This is not to discount doing stupid shit on either side of the equation. It’s simply Newton’s Third Law demanding its pound of flesh. At some point one side or the other (or both) is going to have to acknowledge wrongdoing. Ideally, both would. But history tells us that once you’ve gone this far, there’s no going back.
After a thorough investigation the NYPD has determined the poisonings were an accident. The cops will be back there eating lunch tomorrow. Virtue signalling assholes!
Interesting that no one else got sick if it was just accidentally left over from cleaning…. Shake Shack has many locations in NYC and employs many people whose Live Matter, so wondering if this might be a cover-up so no one goes and destroys their restaurants.
Things like this happen periodically all over the country. Probably a good idea to start packing their own meals.
