Child brutally murdered by African-American man after riding his bike on felon’s property.
Mainstream news networks CNN, MSNBC, ABC and CBS have completely ignored the story of Cannon Hinnant, a 5-year-old boy who was shot in the head by an African-American male in North Carolina, with search queries on all of their websites returning no results.
Hinnant was brutally gunned down by 25-year-old felon Darius Nathaniel Sessoms while riding his playing outside his house in Wilson, North Carolina for the ‘crime’ of riding his bike on Sessoms’s property.
The shocking murder was witnessed by a neighbor and Hinnant’s two young sisters, aged 8 and 7.
“I saw him just run right up to him and [he] put the gun right up to his head and shot him,” neighbor Doris Labrant told WRAL.
A motive for the killing has not been established, although it was reported that, “Sessoms lives next door to Cannon’s father, and a neighbor said that the two men had dinner together Saturday night and that Sessoms was at his neighbor’s home earlier Sunday.”
Sessoms was caught by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, Goldsboro police and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and faces a charge of first-degree murder.
His previous rap sheet includes felony larceny of firearms, misdemeanor maintaining a place for a controlled substance and felony marijuana possession. Sessoms also has two pending counts of felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance
Although the story has been covered by local news networks and nationally by Fox News, it appears nowhere on the websites of the other big four national media networks.

While America has been transfixed by over two months of violent protests and riots over the death of George Floyd, a convicted criminal who died at the hands of police while high on Fentanyl, press coverage and outrage over the death of Hinnant has been minimal in comparison.
Almost like the media has some kind of agenda and ignores stories that don’t fit their narrative.
Surely not?

It obviously didn’t matter that much to CNN, MSNBC, ABC News or CBS News.

Part of the story is that this murderer Sessoms had lived in the neighorhood for ten years and was well known, so being twenty-five he has lived there since fifteen years old, with a very long rap sheet, including numerous felony probation charges.
The mentally ill criminals are just allowed to walk around.
North Carolina has had about six or seven children shot and several killed in the last month by blacks, yet the democrats that run these areas (and they control all parts of government) do nothing.
This is merely more proof that racial segregation of blacks should not only be reinstated, but should be encouraged.
Wealthy whites should establish funds to help resettle whites into all-white enclaves.
Liberal whites should be required to move into black-run enclaves where they can spout their left-wing black-advocacy garbage.
Since most white liberals have never experienced the “vibrant” black ghetto culture, they should be forcibly relocated to those areas where they can experience true black culture.

One cannot separate the chicken from the egg. Who this guy was and the trouble he was in and the kind of man that created, cannot be separated from the drug laws that violate personal choice and freedom. You cannot even separate the drugs he chose to consume from the reality that certain drugs were available because of drug laws. People like to say that cannabis is a “gateway drug,” yet where cannabis is legal, use of things like heroin and other “more dangerous” drugs generally falls. For some its about getting high, and any drug will do. That can lead to very bad choices (not that choosing drugs is a good thing, but some can be worse than others).
And millions of perfectly nice people consume alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, caffeine, prescription drugs, and other recreational drugs every day of the year. Yes, they are ALL drugs.
As a felon, he was prevented, by law, from possessing a firearm. I agree with not allowing felons to possess firearms, and consider it to not be infringement. The scum forfeited his rights when he was convicted of his first felony.
Not all people who are felons are scum. I sold less than an ounce of weed 45 years ago and haven’t been in trouble since. Now it’s legal. Still paying for it to this day. I shouldn’t have a gun and be able to protect myself from the real scum? Look at the scum who may not have a felony but are scum anyway. They are everywhere you look.

My grandson is in a similar situation due to setting a fire while he was high and now is prevented from possessing firearms. He is an avid hunter and it kills him to miss out on hunting.
I think there should be an simple process for someone to have their gun & voting rights restored for non-violent crimes, after they have served their terms and/or probation.
I am 70 years old and about six months ago I started the expungement process and now with this covid bullcrap and the courts are messed up it is going nowhere. Even though my chances are good I may never get rid of this felony and they are letting real felons out of jail and not putting the ones who are committing felonies in jail. Go figure.

I am not in any way justifying this killing, but to condemn everyone for their situation, when an immoral war on drugs/guns/freedom exists in this country – with varying levels of devastating consequences for its victims – ignores the reality of our world. And you seem to be pretty quick to justify your grandson’s behavior. Arson is a property crime, no? Could anyone have been hurt? Drug arrest is really just engaging in commerce that government doesn’t get a “cut” of, so considers illegal. No inherent violence or harm to two voluntary parties. Anonymous is as good an example as any. The cycle of economic decline that can happen quickly following an arrest can lead to other non-violent or even victimless crimes to survive that sometimes result in additional arrests and further spiraling. Your generalization is simply not appropriate. And nobody has even looked into what legally-prescribed pharmaceuticals he might have been taking.
I am in no way dismissing what my grandson did, even though it was really a pretty minor incident, starting a fire in his waste basket. He did it while high and has spent the past 5 years getting his act together.
I know lot of kids who did things when they were young and thought it was quite cool, but were busted and had to pay the penalty for breaking the law. Some of them learned from their experience and straightened their life out, while others continued down the path of destruction. We all have choices and when we make bad ones, it leads to no good.
