Police have charged the owner of the fitness club for reopening today and ordered him to shut down. He’s complying and doesn’t plan on reopening tomorrow.

When restaurant owner Adam Skelly attempted to open his business today, Mayor Tory sent more than 50 uniformed and plain clothes officers along with riot police on horseback to enforce what should have been nothing more than a bylaw offense. Police apparently arrested Adam Skelly for having his own locksmith open the doors that the police had changed the locks on earlier in the day. There’s a Costco with a restaurant less than 500 metres from this restaurant and there was no early morning lock change or police presence there.
Toronto’s progression to total shithole is now complete. This is what Mayor Tory thinks of all small and medium businesses. You’ll follow his dictates or he’ll send Toronto Police to arrest you. I can’t support the Toronto Police either. They broke their oaths as officers and assisted Mayor Tory with the deliberate targeting of a private citizen for the supposed crime of opening a restaurant.

I watched this live, as it happened… it was awesome. Methinks that what needs to be done now is to organize openings of businesses. One per day with loads of advertising. Let the folks show up, from all sides, and let the chips fall where they may.. with a side order of ribs of course.
