Slightly off topic-Took a midday run at the stunning outdoor oasis know as the rockefeller prserve yesterday. Over 5 miles I crossed paths with 10 people. Sadly, only three brave enough to breathe fresh air. Of the three who were free, two were white women in their 70’s (one of whom was adorned with an american flag hat, very rare in these parts), the other was a kenyan lookin fella that ran at speeds i only achieve while driving. It was great to see the two women walking, chatting, and enjoying nature. We shot each other big smiles and nods of acknowledgement. The masked try to pretend that i am invisible. If only i could fart on command…….. a boy can dream cant he?
Question for the commenters- should i start running with a stick with a nail at the end to pick up the masks left behind on the trails? I saw three masks on or just beside the trails. One of which someone had the unfortunate call of the wild while wandering in the woods. Yeah, thats right, a shit wiped white mask, and actual fucking face diaper, was just off the to side. Probably the most disgusting thing ive seen in all my years there. Every runner has that one story where you leave the park with one sock, but have some dignity and travel off the trail.

If people minded their own business and didn’t imagine themselves as righteous upholders of the law instead of hypocrites, this wouldn’t be a problem. I got into it with someone at work when she blocked my way into the entrance at the doorway a couple days ago. Was in a hurry to get in and out quickly without arguing but she blocked the way and was being intentionally slow and confrontational.
I have no intention of arguing the merits of a mass delusion with such people but avoiding them is sometimes difficult.
The only mistake she made was not turning around and getting right in his face, inches away, and telling him he is an asshole. That would have given him two choices: walk away or punch her. Him walking away eliminates the problem and if he punches her, she sues him for everything he owns which also solves the problem.
You can’t let assholes thrive. You need to go after them immediately when they start their assholery.

i have yet to have anything like this happen to me, but *when* it does– especially if it gets to the level this poor lady had to deal with where she’s being chased around and harangued inside a store– i’m not even gonna fuck around with the individual…they can say what they want and as loud as they want….andi will ignore them…but once they start to pursue me the way this asshole did, they unknowingly just became an active threat to my safety and one of 2 things will likely happen: they will have to contend with a shopping cart getting shoved up their ass or they’ll be looking at the business end of my pistol.
