(I saw this in the comment stream and couldn’t help submitting it for wider audience. MGhost)
For the benefit of all the wonderful TBP’ers out there I present them again.
These gems have helped me pierce many layers of darkness in this world, providing understanding and rationality to the many irrational mysteries.
The Laws of Stupid :
1. There is no end of the stupid. It is everywhere.
2. You can’t fix stupid. Even if you could there is a never-ending supply to take its place. This law is as far as most people delve into the world of stupid.
3. The stupid must suffer. As you previously stated “Until enough people start to really feel pain and deprivation, this shit show can go on for a very long time”.
4. Those who associate with stupid will also suffer. Therefore even if you’re smart or a “quality person of character” you will suffer anyway.
5. No one is immune from stupid. From time to time we all display it; I’ve seen stupid in the mirror more times than I care to think about. Just move on and do better next time.
The real problems in the world come to fruition when the world of stupid is invaded by the world of evil. Thus the equation: Stupid plus Evil equals “A nation of sheep governed by wolves.”
So prepare in your own ways to suffer. Or as the modern stoics say “Live your best every day but embrace the Suck”
Embrace the stupid, but do not take advantage of them.
Bet on Stupid and you will start winning! Thank you all for your insights and I hope this stupid comment helps.
Daddy Joe reply
At the bottom, I meant to add “to whomever” it was but when I copied the Laws of Stupid, I had an episode of my own and didn’t note what Comment Thread I got it from…
Thank you for posting this.
It truly helps me better understand a lot of folks here on TBP. For example … Llpoh.
we haven’t heard from the dog down under in a day or so, have we?
I worked for a boss who would say…. “all you can do with stupidity is stand back and admire it”
Stupidity is like death. When you are dead, you don’t suffer for it…….you’re DEAD. Everyone around you experiences the pain. Same with stupid. When you’re stupid, you don’t suffer from it…….everyone around you does!!
Muscle/delusional dawg. Yes, Stupid is like Alzheimers.
When I was a teenager, I had the belief that “experience” would make the stoopid wise up. Gawd, was I wrong. “Experience” was just a thought loop reinforcing stupidity.
Supidity, unlike ignorance, is congenital and irremediable. Experience can–not necessarily will– help the ignorant to wise up, but the stupid need guidance that does not damage what by nature is an already fragile level of self-esteem. If that doesn’t work, well…
LC, Good to hear YOU wised up. One of these days I’ll post short piece on “Laws of Learning” –if there really is such a thing.
Stupidity, like the weather and politics, are things you cannot change, but you would be a fool to ignore them.
fwiw? My husband made a trip into “town” and reported that there is a definite maskless presence in rural America. The shopkeepers are wearing them but they ain’t saying nothing to those who are not. And more are not.

—P.J. O’Rourke
My girl, I am in awe of the depth of your studies in stupid. You should be awarded at least a double degree.. One question that arose in my mind after seeing all those quotes: Do great/ accomplished people become that way because they understand stupid. Just think what they may have accomplished had they really applied themselves to it!
Regarding #1, there is not enough antidote for stupid in today’s world
Saw a story yesterday on how union workers who voted Biden felt betrayed after he snuffed out tens of thousands of their jobs his first day in office. Case in point. Eat it bichez!
Two articles worthy of distribution.

I had seen the Despicables before ( I think HERE at TBP) but the other is worth a read and thanks.
I hope “Daddy Joe” (either one, actually… heh heh inside joke) shows up to tell me if this is a “fair” interpretation of the Banality of Evil.
Stupid plus Evil yields a nation of sheep enslaved by wolves.
It is a social equation offering a yield rather than a sum total.
Ghost, Yes, enslaved is a better choice of words. But as a nation we are stupid in that we not only allowed ourselves to be enslaved, but most actively cheered it on. Apathy is assent.
Even duct tape cannot fix stupid, but it does muffle the sound!
The Stupid People constitute the largest tribe in the world. (And The Evil Fuckers know it.)
This is an interesting video pointed out on the Chomsky post.
Daddy Joe should check in!
Ghost, A wise person once taught me that wisdom comes as a result of 2 things: 1. Understanding the nature of God. and 2. Understanding the nature of man. Most everything else is secondary or irrelevant. The Laws of stupid are just a sad and lighthearted attempt to achieve the latter.
All my favorite TBPers weighing in on the laws of stupid. That’s one reason I think I can trust your judgements.. Seems you all have at least a masters degree in stupid. Thanks for posting.
I will have you know I never completed my thesis, so technically did not receive my masters degree in stupid, although I had all the requisite academic hours.
Thank you for not getting upset and leaving TBP forever… your comments are refreshing and readable.
Paraphrase(from somewhere): Remember that “genius” has limitations, “stupidity” doesn’t.
