Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Kaboom

The Senate bill also includes a provision intended to avert surprise tax bills for people who lost jobs, waiving federal income taxes for the first $10,200 of unemployment benefits received in 2020 for households earning under $150,000.”
The New York Times

Isn’t that a curious concept from the front page of Re-set Central? How does a couple with no jobs and no income earn $150,000 in a year that they were not working? And if they somehow brought in $150,000 anyway, why do they need the support of the US government? Such are the many mysteries of the Coronavirus 2021 stimulus bill.

What’s actually going on with this monster of legislation? Kind of looks like an attempt to replace what used to be a national economy with something that pretends to be money conjured from a system pretending to tax itself on wealth that was never generated in the first place. In other words: politicians have achieved the final divorce of wealth from production, and thus economy from reality. The USA has become the Big Rock Candy Mountain.

Whatever else the Soviet experiment was, it was at least predicated on producing stuff, however defective the incentives turned out to be, or how shoddy the stuff was that got produced — and the system finally crashed anyway, because it was based on fantasies of human social behavior that just didn’t comport with reality. Now, the USA, in its own existential climax phase, seeks to re-do the Soviet experiment, only minus that feature of industrial production. Instead, our “wealth” gets generated from the banking system alone, and its subsidiary activities, such as hedge funds, arbitrages, dividends from companies with no earnings, and the fees for swapping digitized bundles of this-and-that. You understand that it’s all an illusion, right?

Bitcoin is the exemplar of that divorce of wealth from production. Its value appears to be derived from two features: the mathematically elegant blockchain code, which is a distributed accounting system supposedly impervious to government meddling. And “mining” Bitcoin using colossal amounts of electricity to churn the blockchain code, a simple dissipation of energy. What is actually produced by these operations? A promise that a set of digits residing on countless flash drives around the world equal X-amount denominated in national currencies, which are themselves spun out of nothing by a process far less complex than the exertions that produce Bitcoin.

It may be true that Bitcoin’s distributed “ledger” is difficult for governments to crack, but governments can just abolish Bitcoin in a few keystrokes by criminalizing the trade of it and confiscating any theoretical profits from it. They have probably refrained so far because the traffic in Bitcoin is still relatively tiny compared to the trade in stocks, bonds, and their derivatives, and because they prefer to keep the Bitcoin model running as a demonstration project in preparation for their own entry into national cryptocurrencies, with all its advantages for tracking individual transactions and targeting tax liabilities.

Let’s spell out the more blatant shortcomings of Bitcoin: The blockchain may be theoretically bomb-proof, but the exchanges that Bitcoin trades on can be fiddled, hijacked, and erased from the universe, and Bitcoins with them. Remember Mt. Gox? When it went tits-up in 2014, 850,000 Bitcoins vanished (out of the 21 million that can ever be “mined” under the system as designed). Bitcoins were worth under $1000 when that happened. Also, keep in mind is that Bitcoin is meaningless without reliable electric service and the Internet that runs on it. How many Bitcoins were bought-and-sold in Texas those dark days a couple of weeks ago when a blue norther rolled in and the lights went out. Of course, trading Bitcoin might be the least of your problems when the pipes freeze and all the sheetrock in your house gets prepped for a black mold experiment. But just sayin’….

The Schumer-Pelosi gang looks exorbitantly proud of their legislative coup in the stim bill (and Mitch McConnell’s gang, too, which had to play along, or get tagged and cancelled as Dr. Seuss-like creatures of Grinchified parsimony). Obtuse, desperate, and stupid as these grandstanding politicians are, they all overlook the workings of entropy in these foolish expedients to keep the plates spinning in this performance-art economy. Namely: disorder. Everything is groaning and cracking out there.

One-time $1,400 handouts and even regular $300 unemployment subsidies won’t pay the mortgages or feed families very long, and every day there are fewer families bringing in anything close to that mythical $150,000. For many, it’s more like… nothing. The one-time bailouts of recklessly insolvent city and state governments and pension funds will only postpone their collapse. The varying guaranteed basic income schemes, enhanced child credits, advances on tax refunds, and other gimmicks would turn the former working class into sub-lumpenproles with nothing to occupy them but crime and vice. In fact, we already have a sizable underclass demonstrating exactly what you’ll get from enlarging the social group dependent on government support.

The only other question for now is when do the different population groups in this land explode in violence? The group loosely bundled as “Red” is angry enough with the ongoing insults of Wokery, failed rule-of-law, and abridgments of basic constitutional rights. The states where they dominate are likely to resist any more fiats by the federal government, like the imminent attempt to confiscate firearms. The “Blue” auxiliary armies are beyond their creators’ control. Antifa will be ready to rock-and-roll in the streets with good weather because so many young people have absolutely no prospects to thrive in the collapsing economy, and the streets have become their social space, with so little money for lattes and beers. And BLM need look no further than the Derrick Chauvin trial in Minnesota, starting today, for an excuse to resume its characteristic activities.

Does anyone seriously believe that the husk of Joe Biden will remain in office more than another few weeks? It’s obvious that he doesn’t have the mental mojo to work an authentic press conference, and surely not the customary address to a joint session of Congress. Even the news media may seek to know who is actually in charge of the executive branch before much longer. Pay close attention to events unspooling. Get ready for trouble. It’s coming every which way, from money to public order to rollicking spring weather.

But that is a metaphor for the old pre 1964 Meritocracy where a person had a skill and would work hard. Today most graduates have no skill and are not willing to work hard. In an Affirmative Action Kakistocracy, there would be one liberal employee with full benefits per plate and he/she would neither have the skill nor the will to keep it spinning, at least not without substantial assistance and awards.

completely wrong. they are highly skilled at forcing you to work hard for their benefit and will slave all day long trying to achieve it.

I had a “discussion” with someone recently about Bitcoin. Waste of time an energy.
Bitcoin can indeed be wiped out with some executive order, or more likely, legislation from our demonic Congress. The threat is small right now, and so they are letting the crypto people “have their fun” for now.
But as soon as it seems any crypto may make the fiat currency currently being weaponized as useless as tits on a bull, sayonara. They do have some standing to do this, as the only “legal tender” is the one they say it is, no matter how they diminish its value for the rest of us.
And yes, no one will care how much you have if you can’t get to it or use it. Sort of like having a million beanie babies. No one gives a shit. Try taking your Beanie Babies down to Costco and see what they will trade you for them.
We have been told for decades what to think, acquire, feel, watch, deride, love, accept, reject.
But I believe humanity is reaching a very painful Event Horizon. Very painful. Both the Law of Unintended Consequences and The Law of Diminishing Returns will collide in such a spectacular fashion that no amount of Wokeness will be able to counter it.
And so everyone will saddle up and hitch their tiny houses to their EV and head out into the wastelands of suburbia. Scorched McMansions, empty Starbucks, and looted Apple stores as far as the eye can see.
When the EV army runs out of juice, and the charging stations at all the abandoned malls don’t work, they will hunker down and eat all the cheetos and mountain dew they have, waiting for someone, somewhere, to come save them.
Many will perish from drinking standing water out of the shut-down fountains in the malls.
They will be confused as to why the toilets no longer flush, and where, oh where, can they charge their phones?!
Postmates will no longer bring them their 5 Guys burgers or Papa John’s pizza.
They may wander, lost, with no celebrity to tell them what to think or do via Twitter or Instagram.
It will become very problematic to give a bad rating to the world on Yelp at that point, and we all know it only deserves one star anyway.

If I had a dollar for every crypto shit talker…oh wait, never mind.
Conceptualizing crypto as currency is so 2015, yes Bitcoin will stay there, as a type of currency, but the rest has moved on. Crypto is programming.
There is no putting it back, it has invaded all commerce and will be as common as the internet. It is the internet, Web 3.0.
Am I telling you to invest? Not necessarily, I am suggesting acquisition of knowledge.
Crypto is the battlefield, a loss will usher in nightmarish centralized control, victory has the opportunity for real decentralizatuon.

So last time, UE got 100% of their former pay AND $600 per week additional. Right now I think they are getting 80% of their former pay AND $400 per week additional. The new bill is on-again-off-again trying to add another $400 per week additional. It seems to be insane to me. I’m retired with a small pension ($1600 per month). I was working nearly full time but lost that with the shutdown. But, because of my pension I wasn’t eligible. So, in their wonderful system I’m a success story even though my income was eliminated. LOL. Everyone focuses on the “stimulus” payment, but this UE bonus has been the real consumer stimulus.

Some are making out like bandits, but not us. I am not receiving any monies(other than the stimulus), I just don’t have any real bills. I cashed out a pension and bought a small “farm” back in 08 and now I don’t plan on making any large purchases but If I do, I will consider buying used. I just wish I could un-contribute more.

Everyone forgets that “Digital Signatures” (linked together to form “Blockchains”) have some very basic risk and vulnerabilities that Technocrats don’t want to address…

Digital Signatures can be:
1) Factored
2) Hacked
3) Erroneously Issued
4) Impersonated and…
5)Electronically Compromised via,
Loss
Theft
Corruption

Electronic Currency also requires “power” and “internet” to conduct a transaction
…This is the silliest modern day Tulip Bulb craze of our time

You know how this is all going to end, don’t you?

Whenever the Great Reset comes, even these precious Bitcons (sic on purpose) will be seized, as “You’ll own nothing… and you’ll be happy.” Any private wealth will be confiscated. This includes cryptocurrency, which they control. This whole crypto thing is a test-run for acclimating John Q. into accepting s/he/xe/xer will never again have actual money, only what they say you have. It will be, “Good xoy, you’ve taken your 150th shot of mRNA-mutating toxicity, here’s 1/32 of a Bitcon.”

And no, I don’t need a crystal ball to see this future.

close! it’s an effort to replace a national economy with a serf society, where the serfs are prevented from working for themselves and are prevented from owning property but rather are forcibly dependent on whatever their effendi give them to survive. think “farm, with dependent cattle, owned by the farmer but paid for by the cattle”.

The suggested outcomes of this coming collapse (or climax of a 4th Turning) seem to be so miserable and totalitarian that it would require a very good secret police force and overwhelming might to hold it all together, especially in a geographically, politically, and economically diverse (real use of the word diverse) country.

I personally do not think the TPTB have the power to control the uprisings that would occur under such imagined, miserable and harsh systems, for all the reasons that have been debated ad nauseum here and elsewhere. My thinking is more in line with HF’s ideas in this regard.

However, propaganda can be used to great effect to convince a society not to stand up for itself and effectively divide it, as is very evident now, i.e. Identity politics which are really just a form of ethnic cleansing, as old as the world; the covid scam further divides us, yet strangely may actually bring together Karens of all races (who would have “thunk?!”). Strategic move by TPTB to neutralize or at least heavily mitigate the solidarity of the potential “enemy” which is just the average legacy citizen, even the Elite’s kid’s eventually will be barred from Harvard.

So too can TPTB diminish any resistance numbers by making people reliant on TPTB for monthly handouts and gov’t benefits as recently heavily debated in LLpoh’s recent BP article entitled,”Discerning Friend from Foe”.

There is warfare on the free market front as well as revealed by the omens of: UBI (Stimulus checks and UE expansions); and flat out demolishing the small business sector with the Covid lockdowns (Note: small business, before Covid, was responsible for creating 60% of all jobs in the economy, and, back in the early ’90s it was closer to 80%. Small business owners are the new Kulaks. TPTB simply cannot have unregulated markets for employees that are not contained in the system.

It’s actually been amazing, and disheartening, observing the lack of protest and the seemingly cavalier way in which Americans willfully don their shackles, i.e. willingly wearing the “Face Diaper” (Eric Peter’s favorite word of late as much as Paul Craig Roberts likes, “insouciance”).

In my opinion, this is not a happenstance, or a strange coincidence, that all of these factors are coming together at the same time. TPTB know that they cannot possibly impose this harsh of a regime on a hostile population. Thus, the suspicious timing of all of these factors ripening into a confluence of evil at the same time which has the effect of cutting down any possible resistance to this “Great Reset” to manageable numbers where perhaps TPTB gain the upper hand and can comfortably put down any rebellion.

It seems to me that TPTB are quickly achieving parity with who they perceive to be the enemy.

I offer no magic bullets or quick solutions. I have thought about it a lot with no real conclusions or epiphanies as I feel I need more data and just some time to perceive how all of these factors play out and gain momentum in their true directions. It just doesn’t seem like a rational choice can be made now.
Yet, I know failure to act now will result in failure. This too is planned.

The BTC bashing is nonsensical. If the power goes out, everything stops. With any traded item, it doesn’t matter what “you” think, it matters what the market thinks. You ain’t buying a $400,000 house any other way than with digital bank dollars stored on a SQL ledger somewhere. If the power goes out, 90% of ‘Mericuns are dead in 2-3 months.. Everything is insane any way..
