Feinstein Promises Assault Weapons Ban Hours After House Passes Background Check Bill

Via ZeroHedge

Hours after the House passed a bill allowing for unlimited delays for FBI background checks, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer revived a House-passed bill requiring background checks for private firearms sales, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) announced that she would soon ‘work with her Senate colleagues’ to pass other reforms – including an assault weapons ban – in the coming weeks.

It’s unclear which features on scary black rifles that are functionally equivalent to any hunting rifle will be off-limits.

Text of Feinstein statement:

Washington—Senator Dial.. Feinstein (D-Calif) today released the following statement in support of the Back, ound Check Expansion Act, Senator Chris Murphy’s (D-Conn) bill to require background checks on all gun sales and transfers:

“Universal background checks are a commonsense approach to address the gun violence epidemic plaguing our country. I’m proud to support the Background Check Expansion Act and look forward to passing it and other much-needed reforms.

“This bill would require background checks on all gun sales and transfers, including for private and unlicensed sales for which they are not currently required. This is one of the best ways to ensure guns won’t fall into the hands of dangerous people.

“The majority of Americans want universal background checks. A 2019 Washington Post-ABC News poll found that 89 percent of Americans support background checks for all potential gun purchases.

“*I look forward to working with my Senate colleagues to pass this bill and other reforms, including the assault weapons ban that I plan to introduce in the coming weeks*. Commonsense bills to combat gun violence have been introduced in the House and with a new administration in the White House, it’s time to take action to end gun violence.”

*  *  *

House Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) vowed on Thursday to reintroduce gun reform legislation, while the House passed a second bill aimed at background checks within the last hour.

No more hopes and prayers, thoughts and prayers—a vote is what we need,” said Schumer, vowing to bring a bill, H.R. 8, out of former Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s ‘legislative graveyard’ after it stalled in the Senate in early 2019 after passing through the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives.

H.R.8 is the latest version of Democrats’ so-called “Universal Background Checks.”

Currently, any gun purchased at a retail store, or online, must go through a background check and involved a licensed firearms dealer (FFL). H.R.8 requires background checks for private sales.

“The idea that this is going to make us safer is laughable,” said Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL). “Criminals looking to get their hands on firearms to use in crimes are not going to submit to background checks. Only law-abiding citizens will follow the law. This is a back door means of setting up a national registry of firearms – something I completely oppose.”

“The problem with gun violence is not that we don’t have enough gun laws,” Miller continued. “We have enough gun laws. What we need is to make sure the laws we have are enforced. Look at what happened in 2019 in Aurora when five people were shot and killed. The shooter had moved to Illinois from another state and because his background information was not updated – he was allowed to get a FOID card in Illinois and purchase firearms. Then when he applied for a conceal carry permit, his criminal background was discovered and his FOID card was revoked but his guns were never surrendered as required by law. If the gun laws had been enforced – a terrible tragedy could have been avoided. We need better enforcement – not more laws. Instead of passing terrible legislation like H.R. 8, we need to do a better job of providing law enforcement agencies with the resources they need to enforce existing gun laws.”

The reintroduction of H.R.8 was spearheaded by Democratic Rep. Mike Thompson, who chairs the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. He was joined by House Democrats Jerry Nadler (NY), Sheila Jackson Lee (TX), Robin Kelly (IL) and Lucy McBath (GA), and were joined by Republican Reps. Fred Upton (MI), Christopher Smith (NJ) ad Brian Fitzpatrick (PA).

According to a summary of the bill, its goal is to “utilize the current background checks process in the United States to ensure individuals prohibited from gun possession are not able to obtain firearms.”

Meanwhile, the House just passed H.R. 1446, which would allow for indefinite delays for FBI background checks, as opposed to the three-day default transfer window. Introduced by Democratic Rep. Jim Clyburn (SC), the Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2021 would close down the so-called “Charleston Loophole” which allowed some gun sales to go through before the required background check is complete.

Of note, there’s been a 22.8% increase in FBI background checks y/y.

Back alley gun buyers win again…

So yet another venomous and ancient ghoul comes forward to push the anti-gun agenda, right on cue. NOW we know why Pelosi and the rest of the gang are demanding the Nat. Guard remain along with the barbed wire. The supine court is a captured operation so odds are good they may get the anti-gun agenda through this time. It will be interesting in a bad way to see where all this ends, the communists never rest, they never quit…

No they never will stop or quit. At least the rino GOPers keep outing themselves. Not that it makes a lick of difference even if there were fair elections. People just keep electing the same lame self entitled tards every election cycle.

There are not enough agents in all the alphabet agencies to round up guns – they just don’t have the numbers. This is all about scaring people into compliance, and no doubt the FBI already has several fuckwits they have been microwaving to use as examples.

Just don’t comply. DON’T COMPLY…let this be the hill these people choose to die on.

In the end, they will not come to round them up. People will be forced to hand them in – more and mor will become registered. More and more will be banned. They will require you to turn them in, or no soup for you. Faced with no soup, a great many will hand them in.

That seems increasingly likely how it will be done. No vaccination, no travel, no soup. No hand in of guns, no SS, no soup, etc.

The digital age will make this ever more easy to do.

..and when they do show up at an emergency they’ll threaten you and act as if you were the problem.

Several years back I had to call paramedics to my house after one of the kids was released from school early by the nurse. He was complaining of chest pains while sitting in the driveway in the truck, waiting for them to show up. If I was smart, I’d have driven him to the ER myself and avoided the fucking worthless local government employees we have.
The useless EMT’s drove past my house twice. I literally had to stand in the middle of the street and yell to get their attention before they stopped. Their reaction was priceless. As the kid was wheeled off to a local ER, a local cop showed up to talk to me because the EMT’s felt threatened by my reaction to their incompetence at being unable to find an address. John Law nicely informed me he was seconds from slapping cuffs on me for being “unruly” and interfering with a public employee.

I was floored by the stupid reactions all around and told the cop to do what he felt he needed to … and see WTF resulted from his stupid attitude. The stupid white guy standing in the street yelling might have been the right fucking address to stop at, especially if you’re at an emergency call, lost, and too stupid to see an house number posted in plain sight a blind man could see.

Another time the local cops ran me off from a local bus stop while I was waiting for the kids not 200 yards from my own house. A local “Karen” didn’t recognize my vehicle and the cop told me to go home, even though I showed him my license and was there to get the kids with my wife’s permission. They didn’t recognize me.
I’m a bus driver part-time and work in the same damned township, for the same damned people. If you’re not on their approved pick up list, you’re treated like a potential pedophile.

Ann Coulter just articled the different law status for antifa and proud boys. Democrats have been the biggest purchasers of guns and ammo (hence shortage). Does she intend to only take guns from conservatives or “dissidents” and leave the Libs alone. ? This is really problematic in a cake and eat it too sense . Maybe she should try
to disarm Chicago and Baltimore first and see how that goes.

Interestingly, the 2A says nothing about guns. It doesn’t even mention firearms. It stipulates the right to bear arms. All arms. There are no qualifiers. It is about your right to self defense. Even “felons” have a right to self defense. ANY infringement on the right to bear arms is an assault on your right to self defense. Even my cat has a right to self defense (fuck with him and find out). The government cannot take away your rights, they can only criminalize them. Any government that criminalizes inherent rights is a criminal government. Throughout history, only two types of people have been denied the right of self defense; prisoners and slaves. Which are you?

The foundational plan is coercive, hypocritical legislation enforced by activist lawyers and police organizations. This is already the norm in states like New Jersey where you need a Firearms ID and permit.
Where I live a local woman complained the employees of a local gunshop (part-time copfukks) laughed at her for asking if they had any semi-auto shotguns for sale. It was a valid question but she didn’t know semi-auto shotguns are “illegal” to purchase – but you can get a pump gun. She didn’t want a pump action because, well … she might not be able to cycle the action and wanted the firepower of a shottie.
No dice in the Pipple’s Soviet of Joizeeee where the doormat republicans stink like a bought democrat – and customer service sucks with a sh*tty, mannerless attitude that’s all too common with many East Coast residents, anyway.

The whole thing comes down to one kernel of truth.

There’s a socio-economic disparity in this country and it’s being reinforced by a bunch of amoral hypocrites who’ve made it impossible for normal people to live. The amoral hypocrites have decided normal people who aren’t compliant need to be marginalized or eliminated. If that doesn’t work it will be elevated further in times of trouble. In a Fourth Turning event it shouldn’t be unlikely an international cooperative effort would resolve the issue of non-compliant US citizenry.
