Will They Draft LLPOH??

I simply can’t believe Oz politicians are itching for a kinetic war with China.  Good lord, this entire world is fucked up!!  Pray for our Injun friend!!

========================== =

Why is Australia’s elite apparently so keen on a ‘kinetic’ war with China, when it would be catastrophic for their country?

SOURCE: Bradley Blankenship on RT

Many high-placed politicians, generals and journalists are ratcheting up tensions with insane talk of a military conflict with Beijing being ‘highly likely’. For the sake of world peace, they need to grow up and shut up.

There’s a “high likelihood” that a “kinetic” war between Australia and China could take place. That’s at least what Major-General Adam Findlay told his special forces troops last year in a confidential briefing now made public in the Australian media this week.

Though the general’s words were never intended to be public, they are now. As the old saying goes, you can’t take back words. Now everyone is aware of the Australian military establishment’s calculations, which are clearly a driving factor in the aggressive rhetoric that’s been coming from the country’s political establishment.

[Australia is now paying the price economically for its hostility to China and slavish loyalty to the US]

For example, Department of Home Affairs Secretary Michael Pezzullo recently stated what is an obvious fact on the country’s annual military commemoration day when he said that the “drums of war” are beating louder across Asia.

In an op-ed for The Australian, Pezzullo had presented an argument in favor of a war to defend “democracy” and “liberty,” insinuating, without mentioning names, that China is a moral equivalent to Nazi Germany.

He wrote, “War may well be folly, but the greater folly is to wish away the curse by refusing to give it thought and attention, as if in so doing war may leave us be, forgetting us perhaps.”

Echoing a speech by former US Army general Douglas MacArthur, Pezzullo insisted such a war should not make one be considered a warmonger since such a war could be morally justified. But MacArthur, who was fired from his position as commander during the genocidal Korean War after recommending using some 34 nuclear weapons on Chinese and Korean territory, may not have been the best historical figure to echo here in making such an appeal to morality.

[As Australia-China crisis intensifies, it’s extremely dangerous that PM believes he’s doing ‘God’s work’ (remember Blair & Iraq?)]

Defense Minister Peter Dutton has also recently said that a war over Taiwan might be inevitable and toughened his stance on China. According to him, Australia is “already under attack” from China in cyberspace and the government needs to have a “more frank discussion with the public” about it. Though, he said, the government’s priority is “continued peace in our region.”

All of the rhetoric coming from the current Australian government is a textbook example of what the famed American writer Walter Lippmann called “the manufacture of consent,” which morphed into the title of a famous book by renowned philosopher Noam Chomsky and scholar Edward Herman that was, ironically, dedicated to an Australian social psychologist named Alex Carey.

In a nutshell, the country’s political establishment is pushing propaganda through various institutions, namely the mass media, to drum up public support for a war with China – a war that they want, not one that is inevitable. So blatant is this attempt that some former officials have spoken out.

Former prime minister Kevin Rudd said that all of the escalations against China “serves zero national security purpose” and Bob Carr, a former foreign minister, pointed out in an op-ed for The Sydney Morning Herald that “Australian diplomacy ought to be identifying the off-ramps that will avoid this nightmare.”

Their position likely stems from the fact that a war between Australia and China would not serve anyone’s interests, certainly not anyone in either of those countries.

Such a war would obviously take place under a broader context – and it suggests that what they really believe is likely is a larger war between the United States and China, two nuclear-armed states, which Australia would, they assume, have no choice but to join. Such a war would obviously be catastrophic.

[Australia’s puerile and provocative war-mongering towards China is raising the risk of all-out military conflict]

Australia is already paying a high price economically for its bellicose stance. In the latest blow, China today announced it had “indefinitely” suspended key economic dialogue with Australia.

The question is, now that the proverbial cat is out of the bag in terms of how Australia judges China as a threat, where do we go from here? The answer, despite what some in the military, political and media establishment might actually want, is that there probably won’t be a war — because a war like this would endanger literally everyone. If you thought Covid-19 is bad, a war like this would be far worse. The Australian elite needs to wise up.

A question one might ask on this topic is why the Australian military, political and media establishment feels so strongly that Australia would have no choice in whether to participate in an American-led war against China. Is this really the kind of “rules-based order” Australians support?

China is antagonizing Australia for reasons I don’t understand. Maybe they think Australia will cave more easily than the US, given its smaller population and military.

I suspect they underestimate Aussie attitude.

I don’t support the US going to war with anyone, but we shouldn’t pretend China is at all innocent or good. China is a racial nationalist totalitarian society with ambitions for territorial conquest, extremely similar to Nazi Germany.

Meanwhile, the “people” running the US right now are going after Russia, because those people are like 95% descendants of Russian Jews who retain a hatred from six or more generations ago. Russia, unlike China, is not a racial nationalist society and is not trying to conquer the world. It is repressive and no utopia, but that is true of 80% or more of countries on earth. We should leave Russia alone.

Sounds like a Chinese social media agent…..”China is not a racial nationalist society”……wow that some serious BS there! China has a very strong in-group preference for Han Chinese……just ask the Uighurs….

China traditionally has not been an expansionist power, the Mongols cured them of that in the 1,200s, but under the Commie leadership in place now it is a different story. China’s Belt and Road strategy is colonization by another name…..they are all over Africa and increasingly South America also. Australia would not play ball and so it is on like Donkey Kong at some point.

Lebens Raum! China needs to send its excess dick (grossly unbalanced male population who will never get married) to colonize new lands so that they don’t overthrow the commies at home…….no available females in China so Africa, South America, and a whole damn continent in Australia….ripe for the pickings. As Matt Bracken noted……China could conquer Australia with enough of a fishing fleet to transport 200,000 soldiers……so what if they lose 100K in the process…..that helps with the excess dick problem! Same for New Zealand etc…….personnel losses are simply irrelevant.

So yes a real WWIII with China is likely and they are betting America will turn bitch and go home after getting a bloody nose and they might be right. Japan thought the same thing that we would negotiate a peace deal like the Russians in 1905. It didn’t work out for the Japs but we are no longer the same America.

Do you even read bro?
“Sounds like a Chinese social media agent…..”China is not a racial nationalist society”……wow that some serious BS there! China has a very strong in-group preference for Han Chinese……just ask the Uighurs….”

If you actually read my post, I said that China IS a racial nationalist society, and I said it was much like Nazi Germany in that respect.

So we actually agree on that concept, but your reading comprehension is “F”.

My bad, I was reading fast while gaming and answering email! Yep we are in synch. BTW you can’t criticize the NAZI’s around here they are the golden calves of greatness for our resident authoritarian fanboys, despite getting their asses wrecked after an admittedly brilliant start.

MH – Totally in agreement with you on this assessment of china. China has been especially aggressive in the S china sea, india, Australia and anyone else critical of chinas debt trap diplomacy or the wuhan virus.

Imo, the US cannot afford to get into a fight with Russia and china at the same time, so imo, they’ll bluster about china and china will tell the US to go pound sand. Much like they already have in Alaska. They know who’s palms to grease and know the US isn’t going to ride in and save the day.

The only way for the rest of the world, ie Australia, Japan, Phillipines, India etc etc to bring china under control is to cut off chinas resources. China depends heavily on coal from Australia, bauxite, iron ore, raw materials from world suppliers. End oil exports into china, starve them into compliance and acting like better neighbours. But we all know that will never happen too.

MartelsHammer
MartelsHammer

Well we and our vassals pretty much have the Chicoms penned in, but if they take and hold Taiwan then it becomes a massive base that gives them access to the Pacific at will. Papua New Guinea would be an interesting move (Guadalcanal Diaries anyone) by the Chinese but again didn’t work out so well for the last rising Asian power that tried that route. Really is a Thuyciddes Trap….and we are the old fading power. So we will likely goad them into conflict before they are stronger than we are. So yes I do expect aggression from the USA but better that than being a Chinese sex slave or turned into fertilizer. My market value as a sex slave is not so high.

The US cannot afford to get into a fight with Russia and China ANYTIME. I have no illusions about the Chinese, but they are doing pretty much what we and the Brits did in times past.

China isn’t antagonizing anyone. China makes an authentic (probably misguided) attempt to serve the interest of China. Every “Western” country lacks such authenticity.

Correct. We may not like it, and it may not be nice, but they are doing what we normally do: throw our weight around.

Australia nearly fell prey to Japanese imperialism 80 years ago, maybe they are trying to be proactive with this next rising Asian power. More likely it is mere sabre rattling and Australia is falling into another US proxy cold war. Maybe they can get Hunter Biden to negotiate a trade agreement.

The Japanese were never an existential threat to China, but nobody likes to cede territory even temporarily.

Aren’t you a piece of work. Japan crushed China in the 1930’s in the population centers of the coast…..So unit 731 committing atrocities and the Rape of Nanking etc……was just a mere minor setback…….remind me to never let you make any decisions in the lifeboat!comment image

I can’t imagine what the japs did that isn’t what the chinese do to themselves. Look at any of their civil wars. And even when they lose wars and various dynasties take over, the chinese always seem to win in the end.

China is pushing shit everywhere it can. Everywhere. It is nonstop rattling sabres. The Phillipines, Japan, SKorea, Taiwan, etc. are all rightfully concerned. If any nation attempts to resist the Chinese efforts to expand, China immediately rattles sabres.

China is pushing this shit nonstop. So, a military general tells his troups that a war with China is likely. That is his fucking job – to prepare for war. On the whole, I see Oz politicians behaving in a reserved way.

Oz, among many nations, called for an enquiry into he origins of the virus. China lost its shit and started banning and taxing Oz products one after another. Anything that smacks even remotely of criticism of China sends them ballistic, and they start implementing punishment and rattling those sabres.

Oz cops it more than most, given its wealth of natural resources the stream of which China cannot afford to have interrupted.

Also, this shit is stirred up by the media, not so much by politicians. They are brainless amoebas and do not limit anything they post if they deem it news. They are morons as a whole.

I read something about how China needs unbelievable amounts of new jobs each month. The Chicoms need the world to buy their crappy products. Apparently they need our food also. I thought years ago that the Spratly islands needed to be leveled. Sending a serious message. Fuk the Chinese and their puppet Biden. Our future looks and mirrors China too much for me thanks to tech giants and our Commie leaders.

Fatman from Oz
Fatman from Oz

No one will over run Australia with military might. Logistics and supply chain 101.

FFS the Chinese supply chain systems are completely useless and rely on brute machine and manpower to get things done. How the fuck anyone expects them to get their supply chain in order as to invade and then subjugate Australia, is completely beyond me.

OTOH, buy the politicians and purchase living essentials (water rights, farmland etc) and over the long game period of generations, yes they will be the dominant force.
That’s the game China is playing with us.

DF ranks of O6 and higher only push the barrow that will see them into comfortable retirement.

Llpoh
Llpoh

Fats – lots of Americans think that Oz is a small rowboat ride from China. Americans are as a whole incredibly geographically challenged. A great many cannot even pick their own state on a map of the US.

Oz is 4600 miles from China at its closest point. Sydney is around 6000 miles from China. And that is as the crow flies. It is much further if you have to meander past the Phillipines (who do not like the Chinese) and Papua New Guinea.

China plays a long game, and they will push and prod and scheme nonstop until they get what they are after.

One thing though – you cannot export farmland and water (not easily anyway), and all their buying up of assets can be eliminated at the stroke of a pen.

Ditto
Ditto

They will just sail into the port of Darwin ‘Cos they have a 99 year lease on it. Our pollies are a bunch of fusterclucks!

brian
brian

The lease is paper and while china may well attempt to sail into harbour they wouldn’t be coming un-noticed. So Oz would have plenty of time to prepare a welcoming party for them. At this point china doesn’t have the blue water logistical supply capability in place. They have plenty of boats and building more and a huge maritime ‘fishing'(/s) fleet that could transport a few guys.

But lets say china does get a foothold into Oz. Then what?? Oz is kinda a very big land mass to hold and I seriously doubt the chinese could hold it militarily. They’d be to thinned out and supplying the forces needed to hold it would never appear.

Like FatMan states, china is playing the long game here. Rattle swords to try an intimidate their opponents into compliance. Threaten to cut off exports out of china and tariff the snot out of imports. Which any sane person knows this wouldn’t be a bad thing for anyone BUT china. But, politicals and those palms china greases pander to china so they don’t lose their ability to send in bottles of wine.

Like MH stated, china will take Taiwan, and with little effort. The US will not engage there and will probably bail on its allies as its done many times in the past. China will get more belligerent in the near future because they not only want to be the worlds leaders but are looking for an opportunity to prove to the world that the US is powerless to stop them.

True that but… when there is a lot of other supporting, abiet circumstantial evidences, then it gives greater weight to the event being examined. In this case china will never admit, even if caught with the gun in hand, that they are to blame and are really the victims. Somewhat like they have already done.
