We are with God. Gandalf was an angel-like archetype . God moves through many messengers that the bible names “Angles”. It is our ability that to listen that makes us a messenger, not wings. There are at least a couple spots where it is made clear that an Angel is someone who the Holy Spirit temporarily resides. This would not matter much to me, if it did not match with my observations. Notice how nowhere did I indicate a lack of agency.

Intriguing thought. But like what, for example? Are there examples in Scripture you can point to?
I will try and put a pin in that. I packed up my bibles already, but yes. The Sodom story does such but I think this comes down a bit to translation of the Greek and context, as well. That’s the one I can think off the top of my head, but I was wanting to look for better examples.
I think my Orthodox NT with scholarly footnotes is what made it stand out to me, but I don’t put obvious disclaimers like I am no prophet or wise man any more than I use “/s”. I should disclaim that I am always on the look out for radical new ways of looking at the whole thing based on how the world actually works. That includes the explained and unexplained.

Leadership on the conservative side is beyond lacking. Just simple tiny groups scattered all over the US. Upon unification it could be a force to be remembered for a very long time.
Well we are the leaders we have been waiting for.
One never battles evil alone when they have God on their side.

Just be aware …. none of this means we ‘win’ on this temporal plane. Maybe we do. True Christians have died for their beliefs for hundreds of years. Perhaps it is our turn and our time. What matters is how we deal with the challenges that lie ahead.
We wait. We observe. We protect our own.
Most of us who understand know that there is no easy path.
This life is fleeting.

The meek shall inherit the Earth. I think I finally understand that.
I’ve been trying (successfully, for the most part) to avoid religious conversations. But, I want to impart something I learned about “meekness” a long time ago …. I believe it was a Phillip Yancey book.
Most people imagine meekness to mean a person bent over in humility, mild, gentle, easy going, not aggressive, getting along with all. And so on. There are other such definitions as well.
These may be and probably are all valid ways of looking at it. For even Jesus said we should take his yoke and learn for he is “gentle and humble in heart”.

But, there’s another side to meekness.
Only three people in the entire Bible are described as meek; Moses, Paul, and Jesus.
Strong bad-ass men, one and all, the likes of which the world rarely produces. Men who took charge! Assertive! Goal oriented! Fighters who never backed down! Men who feared not in the face of extreme danger and hardship. Proud (in the good sense). Alpha dogs. Heroic in every sense of the word.
IOW, to be “meek” is actually to be the strongest of strong men. Weak men can NEVER be meek. Few attain it like Moses, Paul, and Jesus did, but we should all keep trying. I wish you much success.

Its been called that for quite some time. Nice to see a great graphic with all the right folks in the pic….although Congress lining the reflecting pond down the sides would make it complete but surely clutter it up quite a bit.
These are very interesting and enlightening statements about Angels. And it is a complete misnomer that most people think angels have wings. I’m afraid that has been a suggestion only in paintings, and the imaginations of the impressionable. Perhaps the ancients couldn’t imagine that anything could fly without wings. I’m certain angels don’t have wings and never did. But it is wonderful to imagine.
