Mayor Michelle Wu has been grappling with backlash in response to the city’s new COVID-19 vaccine mandate, including disruptive early-morning protests at her home.
The citywide vaccine mandate went into effect on Saturday and requires all city employees to get vaccinated for COVID-19 or face termination. Saturday marked the first day workers must have received at least one vaccine shot.
It also kicked off the city’s B Together initiative, requiring patrons to show vaccination proof in order to enter certain indoor spaces, like restaurants, bars, gyms, and entertainment venues. Workers in those establishments must also be vaccinated.
She touched someone else’s mask! It needs to be disposed of, replaced immediately and she needs to be severely chastised for her behavior.
And the propaganda is promoting this behavior.
Another Mom was telling me recently how her 15 year old daughter was mad with her because she was not allowed to date a boy from her school yet, because her parents thought that she was too young.
I think I might not leave our children unattended until they are 25.
Supposedly most pediatricians insist on the parents stepping out of the room when the kids turn 13 or 14. I won’t let that happen either.
Svarga…you want to know something funny? When I was about 16/17, my parents wouldn’t let me date any boy with facial hair.
At that time, I was dating a guy who was about a year out of high school. He had a slight beard. My parents made me break up with him. Turns out he was a great guy. We still laugh about that today. (I was not laughing back then though!)
My parents also chaperoned my dates in high school. It was really embarrassing. My dad was super strict. Maybe something for you to consider with your kids. 😉

As a father who is charged with protecting those under his ‘authority’ – ya I said it…. because I’m going to be held accountable– your father is awesome. Imagine a father waiting … waiting and then searching until 3 in the morning… daughter NOT home. Finds her in a fucking motel room w/ a guy 10 years her senior.
Yeah, he is awesome. I love and respect him very much. We argued a lot when I was a teenager, but I appreciate and understand him greatly now.

Our daughter never dated while she was a minor. There was socializing in groups, but none of the unsupervised “dating” that’s become the norm. You could say that we were strict, but it had a lot more to do with being very honest with her about life, human behavior, values, etc. and from a very early age. Dating should be about courtship and eventual family formation, not casual sexual encounters that satisfy animal urges for the moment. Now that she’s an adult she is free to do what she likes, but she is still extremely conservative in her behavior and I give her all the credit for that.
The State promoting clearly sexual relationships with minors as well as deliberately steering them into behaviors without their parents knowledge and making medical decisions that may impact them for life is evil. If it were another random adult it would be considered grooming. These are some seriously dangerous people.

My parents caught me with a guy on a motorcycle when I was 16 and I had promised them to not ride on a motorcycle, so I was not allowed to see him any more. Next time he came over, I blindfolded myself.

He’s pretty strong-willed himself, so he should have known he’d have a child just like him. He writes books & songs now and dedicates them to me (as opposed to my brothers), so looks like I turned out to be his favorite child. 🙂 No bitterness here.

I’m not sure whether to take that as an insult or compliment. I’ll take it in the best way possible.
My dad has been through the worst imaginable hell and has brought himself out of it into a better life. I’m not as articulate as he is, but his perspective on life is different than most. He was an atheist for a long time, but is now a Christian. He appreciates and sees the beauty in life and life’s struggles. He is at peace and is not concerned about dying. He lives with gratitude everyday.
He now feels God was walking alongside him his whole life and that his life has a greater purpose and meaning. I guess it just all boils down to perspective. His experience was not my journey so it’s difficult to relate. He writes beautifully about it, but if I share his books with you, then you’ll know who I am…and I’m not sure I want to give up my anonymity just yet. Maybe soon.
There is someone here that does remind me of him sometimes, because of his journey…and that’s Flea. Flea seems to be at peace. I have no idea if I’m correct or not, because I don’t know him that well, but my guess is that Flea has a different perspective and appreciation because of his personal hell and his subsequent walk with God. I may be way off here, but that’s my take of Flea.
And, yes, my dad is much wiser than I am…I know I have a lot to learn. I’m not perfect.

I feel for your dad because I can relate to a man being in torment and finally coming out of it. Maybe you can show him my story. You joked about axe murderers in good sport and wasn’t offended but you don’t know you were correct. Maybe he has his own story like mine. In my war I said “I took the evil and the evil took me” and couldn’t stop.
I am like Legions before and after Christ saved him and I’m so grateful 50 years later I still can only live to try and free some other prisoner trapped in the fear of secrecy. Life without that simple mission is too empty for me but with that mission and Christs Blood I have made amends and have great peace.
Our buddy AP gave me some pretty high praise the other day about God and it really meant a great deal to me.
Ask God to help you gently get closer to your dad as a blessing to him. The love of a father to his daughter passes all understanding.
