I decided to engage another person at the gas station last night. We agreed on FJB and the purposeful actions to destroy America from within. As he was driving away, I said, “What can we do but the best we can”. He replied, “Pray to God and accept him as your lord and savior”. It was a pretty cool moment. 🙂

Every time I stop at pump 5 there is that Let’s go Brandon sticker. Each time, I laugh and seethe at the same time. When I fill up, there are are no people, thankfully. It may want to make me say, “Check this out,” if there were. People (with the exception of the sticker poster and me) seem to love the guy.
I dropped off one of my children at the library chess club today with instructions on how to walk to the playground and meet me there afterwards. It is about a 3/4 mile walk and she is 8 years old. No cell phone or other way to get in touch, but they have to taste some freedom some time, right?
Well, I went to the playground and was, admittedly, a bit nervous for the 90 minutes it took for her to get there, gleaming and proud.
During those 90 minutes, there was a 16 year old boy waiting for someone, and as I was swinging my younger child, I started chatting to the teenager. He seemed like a nice guy and told me that he was waiting for his Mom to pick him up. That left me a bit surprised, given that he had a bike with him. He said that his cell phone was down to 20% of juice and he does not like to bike when he does not have at least half a cell phone charge. Flabbergasted, I asked “Why not?”, and he responded “just in case there is an emergency, I would not want to be without a functioning cell phone.”
Cell phones are brain amputation devices.
Also, yesterday, a woman I met asked me when I will stop homeschooling. I told her that I had no intentions to, since schools do not teach what I think is important (for example spending the whole day today planting our vegetable garden) and they do teach what I think they should not teach. Plus, our son thinks that schools are prisons.

True, but I just got exhausted reading both of your posts. I prefer people not talk to me when I’m out…but they usually don’t get the hint.
I usually start with a question. This time the question went exactly like this…I peered around the pump and said, “Ok, so how much did your fill up cost this time?” Sure way to jumpstart a convo.
I try to keep it very lite and I can take a hint. 🙂

I ask the Aldi cashier how many trucks are arriving and how much inventory there is.
I asked the dairy farmer today when I picked up 5 bags of 40 lbs composted cow manure ($9 each) how business was and he said, sheepishly, that it has never been better than these last 2 years.
Oh Lordy, Svarga. Remind me to get plenty of rest if we ever meet in person.
The last two years have caused me to be done with most people. My circle has gotten smaller & smaller, but that’s because most people look like that diagram up there. I just don’t have the energy to deal with most people’s bullshit anymore.

Funny thing I’ve found is, there are a lot more people like all of us here on TBP then you think. The only way I would know that is if I talk to people. There are 2 male employees at my local grocery store that I have consistently made fun of for 2 years now because they are Covid crazy.

In a weird way, I liked it more when there was an indoor mask mandate, because I could instantly identify like minded people with balls. Found two friends that way.
Yes there are… and most often you will discover who they are in the first minute of talking to them. Theres plenty of clues…

When I take my long walks every day, I make sure I say hello to everyone. Eventually, I get a smile and hello out of everyone. Sometimes they get quite chatty.

I-phone addiction/dependence has changed human behavior more than any other influence in human history. The results mostly negative play into our entire current situation.
