‘Pitchforks Are Coming:’ Iversen Predicts Public Unrest if Inflation Continues

Via Children’s Health Defense

Political commentator Kim Iversen last week on The Hill’s “Rising” warned of coming civil unrest if inflation and supply shortages continue while corporate profits soar.

Iversen and co-hosts Ryan Grim and Robby Soave skewered BlackRock CEO Robert Kapito for complaining of “an entitled generation that has never had to make sacrifices before.”

Iversen reported that U.S. corporate profits hit a record high in the fourth quarter of 2021, jumping 25%, even as the gross domestic product dropped 6.9%.

“So, what does this mean exactly?” she asked.

“It means,” she said, “inflation is good for big businesses, which upped their prices in response to supply and labor shortages and saw profit margins increase 25% to $2.94 trillion — the largest gain since 1976.”

She singled out the oil industry, saying, “We know that while gas prices are taking a toll on working people, 25 of the world’s biggest fossil fuel corporations are reaping in record profits … [and] oil giant BP, for example, has hit its highest profits in eight years.”

According to Iversen, corporations are using “the slight inflation that we did see in the beginning” as an excuse to hike prices over the long term.

She said:

“If you combine the supply-chain problems with the energy price increases with the corporate greed, you’ve basically explained all of the inflation that we’ve experienced.”

Iversen cited a March 29 MSNBC tweet that questioned why Americans are dissatisfied with this “booming economy:”

She then cited journalist David Sirota’s Twitter response to MSNBC:

This trend isn’t sustainable, even for the interests of corporations, since a “middle class that is poor” won’t be able to buy any products, Iversen said.

As a solution, she suggested supporting Bernie Sanders’ new proposal to tax windfall profits from the pandemic at 95%.

Soave then reported on BlackRock CEO Kapito’s controversial comments about the economy.

Speaking last month at the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association, Kapito said, “For the first time, this generation is going to go into a store and not be able to get what they want,” adding, “ … we have a very entitled generation that has never had to sacrifice.”

“I think this generation has sacrificed,” said the 32-year-old Soave. “I think there’s been plenty of sacrificing.”

While conceding his generation was never forced to serve in a war, he cited other burdens, such as student loan debt and the difficult economy his generation confronted upon graduating in the wake of the 2008 financial meltdown.

Kapito graduated from the Wharton School in 1979 and immediately joined a Boston investment firm. He earned an MBA from Harvard in 1983 and went on to co-found BlackRock in 1988.

According to corporate proxy reports obtained by salary.com, Kapito made $22,115,203 in 2020. Wallmine reports his estimated net worth at $303 million (other estimates, in the wake of the pandemic, are closer to $400 million).

Kapito, who turned 65 in February, has no published record on the web of military or civil service and would have been 15 years old when Richard Nixon announced the end of U.S. operations in Vietnam.

According to Blaze Media, Kapito’s warning came just days after Bloomberg economists advised Americans to consider budgeting an extra $5,200 this year — or $433 monthly — to prepare for historically high inflation.

Summing up the current economic trends, Iversen predicted:

“Look, the pitchforks are coming, guys. So either they do something about this, or the pitchforks are coming. If people can’t go to the grocery store and buy what they need, if they’re seeing like what this BlackRock executive is saying … if we walk into the stores and the shelves are empty and we’re not in a pandemic anymore and we can’t commute where we need to commute because gas prices are too high, this is going to change fundamentally the way the people view the government, and it’s not going to be good.”

Kapito is correct and Iverson is wrong. The generations born after the 1960s are the most spoiled and entitled people in the history of this country. I know because four of them are my children. Actually they turned out to be good people, though we went through some tough times together. Todays’ corporate profits have nothing to do with the matter.

I am old enough to remember the shortages after WWII. We had ‘meatless Wednesdays’ for years. It was common for my mother to go shopping with a long list of groceries, and return with only half of the things she wanted. One went to the butcher shop for meat, the green grocer for vegetables. There were no supermarkets, no big box stores then. We lived with what we could obtain, and did not feel in the least that we were suffering. I even remember, barely, the coupon books of the war years.

No, shortages will not in and of themselves cause the pitchforks to come out. What will be the cause will be the attitudes and demands of those who think they are ‘entitled’ to their demands. They will be augmented by the influx of millions of people from other parts of the world who come here believing the U.S. is still the land of milk and honey, and when they discover otherwise and turn to crime and violence, that is when things will get nasty.

Some places now gas is being stolen out of gas tanks by drilling holes and damaging the tank costing owners $1000. to replace. Thefts in stores bad. Wal greens is pulling out of San Fr. Some born post ww2 also feel entitled and get irritated when things are not stocked in stores, some complain to corp office which I have also sent in bad reviews online. Younger parents today don’t teach work ethics and younger people today don’t appreciate anything, just make demands on parents and parents afraid to say no.. This got worse in the ’80’s and over time. Few know how to show appreciation or thanks for anything. They won’t help parents or grandparents (elderly) when adults. Always too busy they say. I hear this from friends , abd somehow they failed raising them when growing up. Several childless friends disinherited neices and chose to leave money to a charity or ministry. I will do likewise. My nieces and nephews are not on same path as me. Friend passed recently, her two neices (adults) expected a large inheritance, they were shocked when they didn’t. One friend talked about disinheriting a son, and I encouraged her to.

Welfare votes are the cheapest to buy. In many cases all you have to do is say you’re going to give them something more to get their votes. Look at those who elect Maxine Waters and Sheila Jackson Lee again and again. Those voters are just as poor as they were when those two ran for office on promises, yet those two are multi millionaires now, and the poor still vote for them. Average IQ of “poor” voters must be around 75.

Fooget about the pitchforks and torches.
The Rapture, Antichrist, Wrath/Judgement of God and the second coming of Jesus are coming.
Likely only about 5% of the world population will make the rapture.
Of the remaining 95% left behind likely around 5 % will survive the rest through the judgement or separation of the sheep and the goats and enter the 7th millennium on earth or the millennial reign of Jesus.
Apart from a true saving personal relationship with Jesus the Messiah by grace and through faith you WON’T make it through the next decade.
Dead or alive only true believers can.
For true believers Dead or Alive it’s a win win.

Faithful???
When one can hardly tell the difference between the saved and the lost, I’d hardly call that faithful. Friendship with the world is to be at enmity with God. Christians work for their earthly retirement just as hard as nonbelievers, often neglecting putting forth any effort into storing up treasures in heaven. Another example is the churches that cancel services on Super Bowl Sunday, which shows where the devotion of their members lie.

Messiah told us to OCCUPY until he comes. Physical and spiritual laziness, apathy, and passivity are not occupying. Believers were given the Great Commission to win souls and to disciple the converts. The vast majority of Christians do not put forth much effort, or any effort at all, into spreading the good news of salvation through the blood of Messiah to those who have not heard, or else do not yet understand the message. How is brushing aside such an important commandment considered faithful?

People are more faithful to showing up for work every day than they are faithful to Messiah. Prayer is our strongest offensive weapon, and yet in my experience very few care to show up to a prayer meeting.

I could go on, but I’m hoping that my point is clear. If the Holy Spirit convicted you just now and it makes you uncomfortable, and the discomfort makes you angry, please give me a downvote to show your faithfulness to the official narrative of the sleeping church of our time.

Yes. You don’t “win any points “ by sitting in an apostate service week after week. It is Christ plus nothing. And if you have Him, you will do good works, can’t not do them as He abides. Also, can pray by yourself, don’t have to wait for prayer meetings, and Jesus is always with you so there is the “two or more in my name.”

If someone isn’t interested in discipleship it makes me wonder if they were sincere in their decision to follow Messiah, as the commitment requires a change in lifestyle. The one who presented the gospel to them may not have made it clear that it is a way of life, not simply fire insurance to escape hell. I’m not a fan of one, two, three, pray after me, as it can give false assurance of salvation.

I confess that I am not always as faithful to Bible reading and prayer as I ought to be. I know that I don’t deserve to be raptured and spared from tribulation. My own measuring stick for deserving to be raptured is the book of Hebrews’ reference to Enoch, who was translated from this realm without tasting death. Why? Because he had this testimony: He pleased God. So I examine myself to see if I please the Father as much as Enoch did. I think that it’s quite arrogant to believe that one deserves to be raptured, because the testimonies of Enoch and Elijah, who both escaped death, show us a level of spirituality that very few attain.

I realize that not everyone who believes in the pre-trib rapture theory thinks that they deserve to escape the coming judgements, rather they are just following the predominant teaching of churchianity and are relieved to hear it. Why dig for the truth when the teaching is so palatable and comforting?
