Quite stupid. If someone hands over an oddball weapon will Miami go out and buy oddball ammo for several Dollars a round for it? They don’t use US caliber weapons. We were trying to give or sell them M-16’s chambered for the M43 AK round. There are a couple of AR’s on the market which use AK magazines which are as common as dust worldwide. But no. Our genius rainbow flaggers sent them rifles that use a proprietary AR mag for the 7.62×39. Lose them and you are screwed. There’s only one reliable manufacturer for this low volume item located in the US.

I tried to sell it on GunBroker for $20 but I didn’t get any bids.
I have one of those Titan .25 cal. pistols actually made in La.Ciudad Miami. I bought at a yard sale for $30.00 still in the box. Came with two boxes of ammo. I figured it would be a cheap way to do some plinking.
I could sell the pistol for a profit, and list the magazine on EBay for another $40.00 use the money for more 9 mm

A while back I saw a video of a kid who manufactured zip guns and experimental guns from hardware store items, then sold them at gun buy backs. Made some good money for a young teen.

They did this in Seattle (maybe a decade ago?), and I figured I could get some hardware on the cheap by standing outside and offering more than the cops were.
Thought I was pretty slick.
Except for the dozens of others with the same idea.
There were actually bidding wars on some of the guns (some people didn’t know what they had).
It ended up on all the local news at 6 about how the buyback turned into an open air gunshow.
