Around here there are a couple of kill crews. They show up in big van set up for processing. All they require is a water hook up.
My friends raise chickens to get the farm tax break. First year, they processed about 120 chickens by themselves. Never again. Every year since, they have the kill crew come by. All neatly packaged in one day. Last I knew, it was $2/bird. Seems worth it to me to not have to deal with the chore.
