The CDC’s recent about-face concerning the various mask, vaccination, and lockdown mandates reveals the profoundly pathological nature of modern western societies, particularly the political and bureaucratic classes who take for granted their superior ability to force guide us ever onward towards utopia.
Your mother died alone in a senior’s home because you weren’t allowed to visit? Gee, sorry about that. You lost your job or your business or your home, watched your family disintegrate? Gosh, what a pity. You and/or yours submitted to the vax and suffered grievous injury or death? Oops.
It’s abundantly evident that the abuses inflicted by the ruling class will continue to escalate. If Americans and westerners possessed the moxie to force change on the system, it would have happened a long time ago. And while many seem puzzled at the recent and apparently sudden emergence of western police states, in reality they have been with us for much longer than most recognize.
In a previous article, this writer described the origins, nature and consequences of no-fault divorce and the resultant explosion of unconstitutional courts, along with their secretive, unaccountable enforcement agencies. Men are routinely stripped of every basic human right in order to serve the false narrative of ‘the best interests of the child.’ In reality the system serves the best interests of women and particularly government, which assumes near-total power over the lives, activities and wealth of a significant proportion of the male population.
The family court system provides the model newly-emergent totalitarian states are emulating. A false narrative, a seizure of powers not previously available, perhaps occasionally even a little public push-back which results in the deep state backing off temporarily. Critically however, the powers seized are never relinquished and only expand over time. No one is ever held to account for the violence inflicted on the general population. The will of the people is ignored or denigrated by any means available.
For decades, many right-minded and well-meaning citizens have been calling for reform, for a return of the freedoms and rights that have been eroded or lost. What has not been evident during all of those decades is a political or bureaucratic leader who engaged in any serious effort to make that happen. Every possible opportunity to do so is squandered, for reasons. And meanwhile the implacable urge to control, the endless probing of ways to further subject people to state subservience, presses relentlessly on, driven by the technocracy all productive citizens are forced to finance. The slide into totalitarianism continues unabated.
The tough love, the hard choices, the necessary corrections to the system, are fairly evident to anyone with even a modest capacity for rational thought. Unfortunately the only people in positions to meaningfully apply them are always and only those who benefit most from the status quo.
Prior to mass murder of civilians, a clue to the developmental progress of the total state is its willingness to engage in open violence against large numbers of citizens who have harmed no one, broken no contract, violated no other. The western world has been at this point for 50 years at least, without meaningful opposition. And so there is unlikely to be a glorious fourth turning, a warrior champion for the people, a massive popular uprising to topple the system and usher in a new golden age of liberty.
But dreaming is free.
I wonder when the people who have lost everything lose it and start killing the sons of bitches? That would be a bad situation.
Not soon enough. Likely never. You can stop wondering now. Sheep never fight the wolf.

It escalates because morons have no regret over being lied to, losing their job, unable to say goodbye to loved ones, families being torn apart, psychological damage and physical damage to children.
They’ll keep getting shots, wearing their masks, mutilating their kids and flying those BLM/Rainbow flag combos out front of the house.
Because signaling your virtue and compliance is the most important thing in their lives. Everything else is secondary.
That’s why they hate those that don’t go along with the current thing, because it’s reminds the left just how useless and big cowards they are.
Most people have emotionally and spiritually empty lives. Complying with tyranny suddenly made them feel part of something so it became a competition to see who could be the biggest virtue signaling twat on facebook. They’re going to have a hard time giving that up. I bet they’re already posting bug eating videos.

Not that I’ve seen. But what I just saw is a quantum leap beyond. The Tylers just posted an article about a serious push in Germany (figures) to legalize bestiality.
Anyone paying attention knew this was coming, as the descent into total depravity will continue unarrested until something or Someone physically puts an end to the trajectory. But no man knows that day or hour.
It is one thing kind of knowing what’s coming. It’s another to actually see it when it finally rears its head.

Makes me kind of wonder what Sodom and Gomorrah were like a year earlier. I couldn’t imagine them being so blatant about their immorality, but they were.
Nah, the Rainbow people would feel nothing if it weren’t for those who despise them. How can they feel heroic and virtuous if everyone was like them? Conflict is good for them and they thrive on it, so they keep pushing the boundaries. At some point their opposition will be driven to despair or to violence or both. Things cannot remain static in any case.

As a recent article sub-credited to Abigail pointed out, these people need the false-virtue value because they are degenerate and unexceptional themselves, but want to live higher than their own standards.
Remember that business proposal “online prenup” on shark tank where everyone can get a low cost simple prefab prenup, “just in case”.
In a world where more than 50% of marriages end in divorce and 75% of those are initiated by the wife, you’d be foolish if you are a male with a good education and significant income potential for the next 3 decades not to get one. Also, to get the child rearing rules written out. Including medical care and vaccines for your future children.
And this is why marriage is on it’s way out. If you need a shopping list of qualifications to be deemed worthy and have to have a contract letting you off the hook in case it fails then you have already doomed it. Our grandparents didn’t need prenups and it worked out fine. If you don’t trust the person you are with then don’t marry them.
I agree with you in in principle. It’s why my husband and me don’t have a prenup. Am I mooching off of him? Or is he lucky that I am essentially 90% raising his children, and better than anybody else would? I guess it’s a matter of perspective. We are both happy with the arrangement, and that’s all that matters.
I worry that people like that will be hunted to the point of extinction when my children come of age.
By the way, your “shopping list of qualifications” has existed for millenia, maybe not written down, but at least in people’s minds.
There is a problem, though. If the wife rears children, she is not usually advancing or even having a career that would enable her to live independently as she gets older. Then there are the shallow men who discount character and a loving relationship while preferring sex with younger women.
Women have to get good at recognizing character. Yet if 75% of divorces are initiated by women, perhaps the male character is not the problem at all! Talk about complexity.
My wife and I get along very well and I can’t imagine a divorce. But I was married twice before to a couple of beauties with PhDs and narcissistic personalities. Eight years was the limit for each. Currently, we are at 23 years and closer than ever. No kids, so . . . Life is full of challenges! But I imagine Ms Loka has things in hand from reading your intelligent posts now for some time.
Biggest thing I have in hand is the firm knowledge that our marriage is until death parts us. It is the rock that never moves. All other decisions flow from that. That trust is crucial, and I do not make arrangements for the alternative. Some people might call that foolish.

Realistic expectations of marriage relationships is almost non-existent in the culture, unfortunately. The majority are socialized by TV and Movies.
A small problem – the family courts will over-rule any prenup they don’t like. All prenups accomplish is to earn more fees for lawyers.

Agreed. We are “Life Partners”. Agreed on that on our 1st date if things progressed. Moved in together the next week, that was 4 yrs ago. She & I set up separate trusts that define what is what.

There is never a “glorious fourth turning”. The subway philosopher appears to misunderstand Strauss and Howe’s writings. There might be a glorious new beginning at the end of it, but the Fourth Turning itself is always a brutal, bloody and all encompassing destruction of the status quo. Nothing glorious or uplifting about it.
Agree. History shows the end of the turning is brutal.
And the Bible states flatly that what’s coming will vastly exceed the brutality of all that came before it.
Fourth turnings as described by Strauss and Howe pander to humanity’s fascination with apocalypse, which rarely if ever actually transpires. ‘Glorious’ is tongue in cheek, a poke at the hopeful schadenfreude underlying their message.
