Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin has confirmed that the U.S. was not responsible for the Nord Stream 2 pipeline explosion, because the Pentagon told her so.
Yes, really.
Despite accusations flying that the United States could have been involved in the blasts that have reportedly could scupper the pipelines permanently, and without any investigation having taken place, Griffin’s crack journalism has solved the case.
“There is no evidence or indication the US was involved in any way with the Nordstream 2 pipeline explosions,” Griffin tweeted.
“My question at the Pentagon briefing today: Can you rule out that the U.S. was involved? Senior Military Official: ‘Yeah, we were absolutely not involved.’ ”

As Chris Menahan notes, the Fox News reporter has been guilty of brazenly amplifying false regime propaganda before.
“Earlier this year, Griffin put out the debunked hoax story that Russia bombed the Babi Yair holocaust memorial in Ukraine.”
The reporting was later debunked after an Israeli journalist visited the site and found it to be completely unscathed.
Griffin also recycled the lie that Russia was using “mobile crematoriums” to “evaporate” war dead, when the supposed video proving it was taken from a 2013 YouTube video.
“When news came out about US biolabs in Ukraine, Griffin also simply repeated Pentagon talking points to dismiss the story as a nothingburger,” writes Menahan.
When Griffin was recently rewarded with a new multiyear contract, she stated that it “has been an honor to provide viewers with trusted reporting from the Pentagon and across the world on issues that are paramount to all of us – the security and safety of our fellow citizens and allies.”

What military means can be used by a party wishing to harm the pipeline? There is an answer to this question.
The pipeline mainly runs at depths of about 100-150 meters, often closer to a hundred. The use of combat swimmers for sabotage at such a depth is excluded – the need to undergo decompression requires the presence of a vessel with a pressure chamber somewhere nearby, which in itself is a strong unmasking factor. In addition, such an operation takes time. The use of depth charges will unequivocally indicate that the military of some country was working. In addition, the stealth factor again arises – a ship with this weapon will not have time to leave after its use. The attack must be completely invisible.
Under such conditions, the most likely means to attack the pipeline is the so-called mine destroyer – a disposable uninhabited underwater vehicle (UUV), controlled from a surface ship via a fiber-optic cable, having its own television camera and a simple sonar. Such devices are in service with foreign fleets in huge quantities. The device carries an explosive charge on board, the remote detonation of which destroys the mine.
The main feature in the case of Nord Stream is that the device can be secretly launched from a ship located quite far (several kilometers) from the pipeline, and connected to the pipeline remotely. The explosion of the apparatus will be carried out when the ship is not next to it. It will be enough for the crew of the ship to simply throw the control equipment overboard in order to calmly leave the place of sabotage.
Poland has the ability to use such devices. The US, of course, too. In addition, the mercenary industry developed in the United States makes it possible to work not with the hands of their own military personnel or the military personnel of the Polish Armed Forces, but to use mercenaries to train some kind of “cannon fodder” for such an operation. For example, even from Ukraine, whose citizens are well aware of how the launch of Nord Stream 2 will turn out for their country.

A gas mixture with less than about 0.16 ATA PPO2 won’t keep you alive.
A mix with to high a PPO2 and/or for too laong can make you convulse and drown.
Too high a PPN2 and the narcosis is too much.
Too little N2 and very deep HPNS can be an issue.
BTW PP = partial pressure…ATA = pressure in atmospheres absolute.

Most of my dives logged are in the 40 – 50 meter range and all on regular recreational tanks. I have a dozen or so in the 60 meter range and only because there was something there to see, like deep water corals. I also have NO2 cert which essentially makes off gassing easier and shorter. There would be no real need for a tri mix, imo as the demolition team wouldn’t need long to plant explosives.
Thats IF it was done by diver and not drones. If it was a sub supported operation then a small portable hyperbaric chamber on a sub isn’t out of the possibilities if they needed to do saturation dives.

Making a shaped charge to punch a hole in steel pipe is child’s play, a bit harder to make it work underwater, but water makes a decent tamp IIUC.
I’m no explosives expert so I’m just making a guess that regardless of delivery method it would have all not only been planned but prep’d ready to go. It would be ludicrous to think otherwise. Little time in and a quick exit.
Punch a large hole and the gas pressure in the pipe would help tear things apart. If a more than a little oxidizer was present I can imagine that would help with the explosives as well. Incorporating the gas into the explosion also…
If theres someone with demolitions background they would probably be able to speak to this much better…
