I don’t like the concept of Early Voting. I agree with a National Holiday for it, however, it won’t be a holiday for your average democrat, since most of them are always off from work. 😉
We managed up until just 30 years ago or so, to ALL vote on one day, with absentee ballots for those who otherwise could not get to the polls on election day. It worked fine, we got results in a timely fashion, and for the most part, people accepted the results (yeah, that was probably a delusion). There is absolutely no reason to not return to that, along with hand-counted paper ballots and dozens of poll watchers at every counting station.
I think it’s gross that the dirty cookies in Europe can get >60% vote turnout while we’re lucky if we get 40. Why can we do better and see the will of the people don’t guys voting?
