I was working in San Francisco during the Dot Com boom. There were droves of young people who made a lot of money just because they knew how to boot up a computer. Those were the days of extravagant launch parties with Huey Lewis and The News performing. I watched these young people, thinking, “I hope they are saving their money, because it can’t last.” The current tech boom has been going for even longer, and these guys probably think that they will easily find jobs like the ones they just lost. They won’t.
