Bingo. The entire bottom 4 rows, and in my experience with officers and medals, also the rest of them.

What about “Admiral” “Rachel” Levine’s costume jewelry? Participation in . . . what. exactly? “Health” maintenance for the nation? Or curating the national chin museum?

I joined in August 1974, the Viet Nam war ended in early 75. The very first medal I was given was a participation medal, for enlisting during a time of war. So yes, many are participation medals. Viet Nam era, and Viet Nam service are two very different things. 74-78 was a rare time of peace for the US.

When I was still in it we were wearing our EIBs over the CIB, because everyone had a CIB, although its usually stretching the definition of combat if it even happened at all.

Let me clarify- he qualified for them.

You have to serve in an infantry unit and you have to be in a combat theater. He seems to have done both.

I can’t stand the guy, but I didn’t draft the regulations, I’m just saying that the original tweet was mistaken.

February 12, 2023 9:07 am

Nope. To qualify for a CIB you need to have been colonel or below infantryman or special forces soldier that participated in an engagement where you took direct fire from an enemy. (Indirect fire like being in a base that had a motor lobbed at it doesn’t count).

That being said, plenty of people have them not for being in a really intense firefight, but from being 10 humvees back in a convoy that got hit with an IED. I don’t know how he got his. I just know plenty of people get them for BS.

War is a racket.

Medals are shiny things to keep folks interested in it.

Correct. I was starting to lose count of the engagements that weren’t documented well enough before I got it because they have to give you one with a PH. Things then got a lot more relaxed over the next 20 years or whatever of the “war”.

You can put yourself in for a medal, that’s how. When I was in the Navy I had a Senior Chief who put himself in for a NAM after the Gulf War in ’91. He didn’t get it but I was shocked at the audacity.

To a few here (you know who you are – “It don’t mean nothing”.)

I served with a grunt company commander Captain who ‘WON’ a Silver Star.

When we heard of his bullshit bravery we snickered and howled…our nickname for him was ‘Shower Shoes’.

He was a super ambitious Body Count lifer…our deaths/KIA both ways…was his career promotion…ending up our WALL count.

(This is before we announced we were leaving…and the ‘Mother Green Killing Machine’ had all it’s gears oiled and soiled by fighting to kill…not win).

HUGE difference in-between a ticket puncher lifer who ‘WON’ a medal (especially that one he never, ever deserved) and one that was ‘AWARDED’ that was well deserved…the lifers loved the Chest Potatos…gave one to themselves every chance they got.

Those that have the Chest Potato Salad who wish they didn’t know what that can’t forget…are the beings who are human…not the beings who climb the ladder to Chest Potato false PRIDE.

And we all know where Pride ends up.

Cracker Jacks … he’s even got a secret decoder ring …

IIRC, the Army gives out some medals for units … Unit Commendation Medals … even if you didn’t serve with that unit when it earned the medal. My cousin was in the Army in Vietnam … came back with all sorts of medals from that practice.

Not sure about the Air Force or Navy … and my recollection from my Marine Corps days was that we didn’t do such things.

I believe Milley and Austin could be prosecuted under the UCMJ. Any servicemember’s spouse with standing because of wrongful death can file a complaint against any other service member under Article 38. The generals had the data from the whistleblowers in early 2021, all of whom had tried the chain of command first before they blew the whistle about vaccine harms. They did nothing. They enforced an immoral order against their own men. Many died.

For every ten blow jobs you complete (and I do mean “complete”), you get one ribbon, or a fancy little star to stick on a previously earned blow job ribbon. Taking it up the ass gets you a purple heart…unless you were violated by a rear admiral, in which case you just won a bronze star (fish).

Insubordination is punishable by Brazilian bikini wax…and forfeiture of half a month’s pay for six months.

How do you get that many medals?

No fan of Soy boy Milley but fact checking matters . It does not help our side to give false info.
Deployment in combat war zones matters too.

General Milley has had multiple command and staff positions in eight divisions and Special Forces throughout the last 42 years to include command of the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry, 2nd Infantry Division; the 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division; Deputy Commanding General, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); Commanding General, 10th Mountain Division; Commanding General, III Corps; and Commanding General, U.S. Army Forces Command.

While serving as the Commanding General, III Corps, General Milley deployed as the Commanding General, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command and Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Forces Afghanistan. General Milley’s joint assignments also include the Joint Staff operations directorate and as a Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defense.

General Milley’s operational deployments include the Multi-National Force and Observers, Sinai, Egypt; Operation Just Cause, Panama; Operation Uphold Democracy, Haiti; Operation Joint Endeavor, Bosnia-Herzegovina; Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq; and three tours during Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan. He also deployed to Somalia and Colombia.
