THIS DAY IN HISTORY – New York Times publishes bombshell investigation into allegations against Harvey Weinstein – 2017

Via History.com

On October 5, 2017, The New York Times publishes a detailed investigation into allegations of sexual harassment against film producer Harvey Weinstein. The bombshell report led to Weinstein’s eventual arrest and conviction on charges of rape and other sexual misconduct. It has since become recognized as one of the defining early moments of the #MeToo movement.

Within certain circles, Weinstein’s predatory behavior had been widely known for some time. Multiple reporters had been scrambling to break the story—reporter Ronan Farrow had brought the story to NBC News in 2016 but was turned away, eventually publishing his expose in The New Yorker five days after the Times’ ran its investigation. The list of Weinstein’s accusers eventually grew to several dozen women, ranging from well-known actresses like Ashley Judd and Gwyneth Paltrow to women who had worked for as little as one day at Miramax or the Weinstein Company.

Weinstein was immediately fired from his company and expelled from the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences. In February 2020, he was found guilty of felony assault and sentenced to 23 years in prison. The allegations set off a chain reaction, as more women came forward with sexual misconduct allegations against important figures throughout the entertainment industry, the fashion industry, politics, the sports world and elsewhere.

In addition to the public shaming of a number of high-powered media figures and celebrities, the #MeToo Movement, as it came to be known (The Me Too campaign was actually first begun in 2006 by activist Tarana Burke; it gained traction on social media following the Weinstein allegations), forced many Americans to examine the power dynamics and institutional sexism that allowed powerful men in virtually every field to commit and cover up all manner of sexual misconduct.

Some of the men who faced #MeToo allegations have either apologized and attempted to move on with their careers or simply denied the charges and kept their positions of power. Notably, over 20 women accused then-President Donald Trump of misconduct ranging from verbal harassment to rape. Meanwhile, as new allegations continue to arise in workplaces across the world, it’s clear that the Weinstein scandal was a key step in the struggle to expose and stamp out sexual misconduct.

Anybody notice how the quality of movies has deteriorated since Weinstein was forced out just because he had a casting couch. Like these whore actresses did not know that the only way they ever got a shot was because of their looks and the fact good old Harvey was horny.
Name one actress that can make a movie by their acting abilities like Daniel Day-Lewis did for ‘Gangs of New York’, which was a Weinstein movie.

Odd how all those women appear to be quite comofrtable and dare I say it, overjoyed to be sitting right up next to their defiler?

It’s been over a century since women were given the right to vote and with it equal rights with men, and still they possess no agency, no freedom to avoid the gravitiational pull of powerful men who can grant them wealth and celebrity.

As repulsive as Harvey is to the human senses, those women are equally disgusting and what’s more, contemptible for trying to convince us that they didn’t do what they did do voluntarily, for personal gain.

None of these whores ever heard of the casting couch?
Why did none of his victims complain during his reign of hedgehog horrors?
Yeah, they all discover their voice to complain against those whose power has fallen.

A “lady” would have made a stink, ten, twenty years ago, when they were raped.
That none ever do, suggests it was mutual…a business deal.

The sad part for these poor innocent flowers is the damage the terrifying event does to their minds…for example, most of these beguiled rape victims only remember the sexual assault 14 years later and then are forced to relive the horror every day thereafter, right up until they get the big settlement check…it’s just makes me so sad….smh.

It’s great when they know for a certainty so and so raped them 25 years ago, or 26 years ago, at a house in New Jersey…no wait Maryland. It was in summer or winter, with a lot of, few other people there in the apartment during the drunkfest…where they were all alone while a crowd watched.

Harvey was,and is,a repulsive jew. That said, how was the jury unable to distinguish prostitution from rape. Whether it’s for a hundred bucks or a movie role hooking is hooking.
