The Noncompliance Challenge

Guest Post by Eric Peters

Martin Luther King famously preached non-violence but what he really advocated – and what worked – was noncompliance. As for example refusing to hand over a seat on a pubic (that is to say, government-owned) bus.

It would have worked in terms of refusing to wear the “mask” government demanded everyone wear, too.

It works generally – if enough people are noncompliant.

The 55 MPH National Maximum Speed Limit (NMSL) which is now 30 years in the rearview was ended by general noncompliance, which not only made compliance-enforcement difficult it made it plainly obnoxious. When almost everyone was being harassed (and mulcted) for not complying with a law almost everyone was not complying with, it made the law itself as well as those who enforced compliance with it ridiculous and contemptible.

It is why we’re able to drive at least as fast – legally – as people in this country were allowed to drive back in 1970. Such is progress in this country.

The point here is that noncompliance works – but only when enough people practice it. The individual – by himself – is generally hesitant to be noncompliant, for the altogether reasonable reason that he fears being punished for non-compliance. This is how the becoming-indistinguishable from one another combine of government and corporate power successfully Face Diapered most of the population for two years, during the orchestrated mass-panic event that people errantly refer to as “the pandemic.” (Which it wasn’t in the substantive sense because almost no one died during it who wasn’t already likely to die from some other natural cause, such as old age or courting death already via chronic sicknesses; catching a bad cold merely pushed them over the edge of the cliff they were already standing on the edge of.)

The challenge, then – and the Catch 22 – is getting a sufficiency of people to exercise noncompliance.

Who’s going to go first, in other words?

Well, how about me?

I already have.

During the orchestrated mass-panic event that was only a “pandemic” in the most pedantic sense, I refused to comply with “mask” mandates. I never once wore the evil accoutrement used to create the visual impression of mass panic (in order to impose mass compliance) and took the risk – small as it was – of walking into stores and so on that had “masks required” signs on the door. I sometimes got thrown out but mostly got left alone. I was willing – if it had come down to it – to risk arrest and jail over it.

I would not comply. My hope was that others might decide to do the same and – together – our mass noncompliance would make enforcement of compliance untenable. I even organized small-scale noncompliance of several individuals together. We got together outside of a local supermarket that had the “masks required” signs – and ignored them, together. I believe to this day that the sight of us ignoring it gave a boost to others who saw us to be noncompliant themselves.

Indeed, an older woman actually told me just that. She approached me and said words to the following effect:  I am glad to see you; I am afraid to be noncompliant myself because I am a woman but I wanted to tell you I appreciate what you’re doing. I have rarely felt better in my whole life.

Standing up to bullies is always empowering. But it is something more when it involves standing up to bullies who are bullying other people who are afraid to stand up to the bullying because they fear they cannot stand up to the bullies.

The bully relies not just on fear to enforce compliance. He relies on numbers. He knows most people (or at least, a lot of people) will not stand up to being bullied, many of them because they cannot – and these become adjuncts to his bullying. In the worst case – and we saw a lot of such cases during the event that was a “pandemic” like the Impossible Burger is a hamburger – the bullied became co-enforcers of the bullying. They were too afraid to not wear the “mask”they had been ordered to wear – and so they ordered you to wear one, too.

This was the age-old replay of the same thing that plays out whenever such bullying is institutionalized, the worst recent examples being the Jewish camp guards who enforced the regime of the National Socialist (important to spell that out and not use the Left’s acronym, which avoids spelling out the socialism part) bullies. It is a dynamic explained by the infamous Milgram Experiment, in which student-subjects were shown to be willing adjuncts of bullies, once bullied themselves.

The therapy for this sickness is noncompliance. But it must be practiced by the many and that can only happen when a few are willing to be noncompliant first.

I am willing. Not because I am brave. Because I despise bullies – and understand that they can never be given in to because giving in means more and worse bullying.

Are you willing?

If enough of us will decide we are then we can put an end to the kind of bullying we’ve suffered over the past three years and going back a lot farther than that. The kind of bullying that only government can do.

When we comply with it.

That’s gun owners who weren’t going to comply anyway, and I’d bet the vast majority of them weren’t wearing masks either. Guns are one thing, masks are another.

Illinois still has a number of people that still wear their masks after almost 4 years. I can go into a Walgreen’s pharmacy, and most of them will be masking. I’d wear one of these just to mock everybody else. One lady thought it was “electrostatic” to kill the “virus” – I let her think that.

I never wore one either. The noncompliance with masks came before any lifting of the mask requirement around here. Our family doctor didn’t wear a mask, nor did his staff and they left the drinking fountain in the waiting room turned on and never wrapped it. The state owned liquor stores were the only ones adamant about masking, but I don’t drink alcohol anyway, so that was no hardship.

The Virginia governor issued an executive order requiring masks in public, but he included an exemption for anyone who couldn’t wear one for medical reasons and a prohibition on questioning the person exercising the exemption. I’ve noticed that most of the new masktards are blacks. The return of masking isn’t widespread here in Virginia so far, as it’s individuals voluntarily masking themselves.

Pretty sure it’s more of a fashion accessory to them, like a doo rag or a gold chain. Whenever I see a black with a mask it’s worn around the neck like an ascot, or under the chin with the straps around the ears, like a pharaoh’s beard.

I Photoshoped a complete letter detailing my “respiratory maladies” and used a university hospital logo for the letterhead and authenticated with a signature that looked like Farsi via Mars. Hung it folded up around my neck in a clear holder with bright red lanyard, logo forward. One person in two years asked to see it, and I said I would need to see their HIPAA clearance before it was legal to comply (amazing how much shit you can make up on the spot that sounds credible). They wandered off.

BTW I researched my state’s laws beforehand and mirabile dictu, there was no statutory or administrative prohibition, nor punishment prescribed, for writing your own exemption. I kept it like an old football ribbon from middle school…good times.

The next headline down. ‘A RECORD NUMBER OF AMERICAN 40 YEAR OLDS HAVE NEVER BEEN MARRIED’. Non-compliance, right there. Or is it? We are all bounced around in the shithouse from birth to death. No way around it because it starts before we are aware and continues incessantly throughout life.

Who is to say what is right and what is wrong, for oneself or more so for others? What level of examination does it take to become so aware? How can one be certain one has that answer in any case? Usually, the empty drum bangs loudest (I know this from personal experience).

The discussion of the Tower of Babel comes to mind. The phrase ‘it’s my truth’ brings that discussion to my mind, as well as the border question and both the Ukraine and Gaza offenses, all rolled up with ‘climate change’ and the COVID scam among many others.

What, indeed, is true and what is false? On my small property I can for a time eschew all worldly interaction and you may be assured I do, knowing all the while the evildoers creep ever closer to my tiny redoubt. Those who rule have me where they want me, an atomized individual clattering around the shithouse, impotent in my rejection of their multifarious narratives, a radical without effect, standing alone in every way against the power that directs events.

My business partner and I at one point were the only two people in home depot without masks. When asked by an employee who normally helps load vehicles if I wanted a mask I replied “fuck you”. I openly laughed at everyone wearing a mask. Now, I’m 6’1″ 250 and I was begging to be confronted. Never happened. I stopped seeing my doctor until they stopped the nonsense then told him I was ashamed and distrustful of him for going along with it. I walked the wrong way on all grocery store aisle one way bullshit. People are gutless shitbags.

Soon after Trump takes office again in January 2025. We will have a climate lockdown and/or another scamdemic lockdown. The Left will readily comply with all of the tyranny, just like they did with the COVID-19 scamdemic tyranny, because they are stupid, and they believe nonsense like that. The Right will (reluctantly) comply, just like they did with the COVID-19 scamdemic tyranny, because Trump will be president, and he will neutralize the Right just as he did before.

We all pay a price, Robert.
Even those that comply pay a price.
At best, I have been non-compliant my entire life, unless I could swindle the .gov by being so.
At worst, well… I’ll never retire.
No one can ask you to be non-compliant.
It’s inside you.
You can see it in a person when they are very young.
It’s why they try to drum it out of children in grade school.
It works on some, not on others.
The best slaves are compliant, they require little effort.
The non-compliant slaves will slice your throat when you turn your back.
These are men that know they should be free, and resent you for standing in the way.
When the jackboots of the state must face the question if enforcing compliance is worth dying for, there will be a paradigm shift.

I rarely (like to think never) have kow-towed to stupidity-idiocy-bullying-tyranny (although sometimes I have on VERY trivial things as a matter of convenience).

But fully agree “It’s inside you” … and as you said re: the price paid … “At worst, well … I will never retire” …. (but holding out hope that I can somehow thread the needle to make it happen)

Anyways, the message is keep fighting the fight baby and living a true life with as few regrets as possible … even with mistakes made and opportunities lost. Be true to your BEST self (obviously as long as you are NOT fucking anyone else over).

In France there are groups of people who turn up en masse at supermarkets that have banned cash. They all insist, peacefully, politely but firmly on paying in cash. When the supermarket staff refuse to accept cash, they all walk out, leaving 50 or so shopping trolleys for the staff to unload. The supermarkets soon start accepting cash again.

Everyone has the right to Decline Offer Of Contract.

There are two ways to reject an offer. First, the offeree can provide an express rejection. This can via mailing a letter, making a phone call, or sending an email. All that matters is that the offeror receives notification of the rejection. Second, an offeree can reject an offer by making a counteroffer.

Counteroffers mean that you are rejecting the original offer and then making a new offer. Essentially, making a counteroffer results in a role reversal, with the original offeror now becoming the offeree. It is common for counteroffers to be made during real estate transactions.
