The port supplies a Pilot to advise the ship’s master on how to navigate the channel. Tugs normally are used to help with docking and leaving the dock. I feel sure that very soon an order will go out that all ships will be required to use tugs until all infrastructure has been cleared.

Here’s a 7 min video that gives you plenty of time to see the strobes and get comfortable with the strobe timing.
I’m not saying that the bridge wasn’t deliberately destroyed, just that the ‘explosives’ is BS.
We don’t know that those were explosives, but they were white, and occurred along the top rail of the bridge, not the flashing red strobes atop the poles that rise above the bridge structure itself.
Maximize the screen, pause it at 5:42 and look at the main bridge support on the right hand side of the screen. There are 3 distinct flashes of white light, each one at the union of the support girders. At no time during then entire recording is there any light seen from those three point until just before it gives way and begins to collapse, it is then followed by a clearly visible smoke signature that rises slowly into the air from that point.
It isn’t hard to see, it isn’t strobe lights, and whatever it was, it is the origin of the smoke that rises afterwards.
Between 5:49 and 5:57 there are a series of flaming explosions that take place atop the concrete piling that serves as the southern pier of the bridge. These are on the red end of the spectrum and are most likely some sort of fuel explosion that could be the result of severed lines that cross the bridge or possibly equipment at that spot rather than a device. Seems odd, but less likely an actual detonation.
This is where you explain that you are a structural engineer and that when steel bends rapidly it will spontaneously combust producing white hot light and smoke.
Or that the video has been manipulated. Or that it is AI. Or whatever excuse you have that helps you reinforce incompetence theory.
Can’t say for sure, but they look like electric arcs from the power cables that are on the bridge. High voltage lines for bridge illumination would leave a puff of smoke from the arc. There were vehicles on the bridge used by the repair/construction crew, so there were fuel sources for flames.

I’m inclined to believe the electrical line theory, I just wanted to make sure that what happened was noticed, not dismissed in its entirety. I think it was probably arcing from electrical lines. Depends upon the voltages and currents involved but high voltage high current lines are not easily “interrupted” i.e. turned off, they have a momentum of a kind and form transients that will arc. Look into to design of high voltage switchgear. It isn’t easy. And yes, I am a qualified Electrical Engineer.

I appreciate that take. My son suggested the same thing. I though that there was too much delay between the timing where the ship strikes and all of the lights go out- suggesting that the power lines were severed- and those flashes which happened several seconds later. Of course there may have been multiple lines and that could account for those flashes, I don’t really know nor do I suspect that any official account is ever going to bring it up, but it certainly made me curious when I saw them in light of how things have been going in America for the last 25 years or so.

Why would the mayday call go out to law enforcement? Wouldn’t it go out to the proper authorities first (coast guard, harbor authority, etc.). If it did go out to the proper authorities and then to law enforcement from them, wouldn’t that take at least several minutes? How would they even know the number to call law enforcement? I suppose the harbor pilot? Does local law enforcement monitor marine band? Why would law enforcement, etc., assume that the ship was going to hit the bridge and take it down so they had to close traffic off (especially when it took such an aggressive turn to do so)? Why were there workers on the bridge that time of the morning? Wouldn’t it seem like the ship would be rather busy to make a call to anyone in the middle of handling an emergency?
BTW, Jones had a bunch of callers on the subject from more or less people in the trade, and the one caller (who sounded more competent than most) suggested the lights being on was not the normal condition (running lights only), but the emergency condition, which actually to me made more sense.

1:27 a.m.
After receiving the mayday call from the Dali, officials ask police to block traffic on either side of the bridge, 911 records show. “There’s a ship approaching that just lost all their steering,” the dispatcher says. “So until you get that under control, we got to stop all traffic.”
Two emergency responders say thay have each stopped traffic on the north and south sides of the bridge.
1:28 a.m.
The 911 records show concern was raised for a crew working on the bridge. “I’m not sure if there’s a crew up there, you might want to notify whoever the foreman is, see if we can get them off the bridge temporarily,” someone on the call says.
1:29 a.m.
The boat starts to lose speed at around 1:29 a.m. and soon, it hits a column holding up the bridge.
Someone on the 911 call alerts the dispatcher that the whole bridge has collapsed. Emergency responders from Maryland Transportation Authority Police confirm they have held all traffic from entering the bridge.

Its obvious this story is not being covered by the media the way an innocent accident would be. And the govmt isnt making statements that would be typical for an accident. I have two possible theories on whats going on:
1) the port of baltimore, and thereby the city, is complicit in this accident due to violating multiple port protocols in regards to handling the vessel Dali. This will be highly embarrassing for the local authorities and they are ass cover mode. The feds will of course help with the ass covering since baltimore is fully team blue.
2) this is a highly advanced sabotage attack, highly complex and technical on the level on of Nordstream bombing. This is why its silly for people to so quickly dismiss the possible attack option. We know that US pulled off Nordstream without leaving a trace (besides our massive incentive 😉 so what makes you think Russia or China is not capable of pulling off a highly technical complex sabotage operation? They could maybe do it even better, maybe so well that they convincingly make it look like an accident.
On a side note: Putin should totally troll Biden by announcing that ISIS-K is responsible for the Key Bridge attack.

I am not overly bright,but one does have to wonder why the Baltimore Harbor authorities were so “Penny wise.Pound foolish.” that they could not station 1 or 2 Harbor Tugs near this vital bridge. A Harbor Tug can shove even a large ship away from a key bridge support. They could have stationed 2 of these ships/boats near that bridge for 200 years,and it would be cheaper than rebuilding the bridge.
The CEO of the company the owned the ship is…McConnel’s sister in law that recently drowned in the Tesla.

If it was an accident insurance pays for it, if terrorism they don’t?
Usually you can buy a terrorism rider, not sure if that is case when it comes to a bridge.
The speed at which it collapsed made it look like it was made of toothpicks.
I believe that if this was a US secret squirrel false flag we would already be getting fed with a target. Perhaps some passports would have been found floating nearby. Or something like footage of all the Putin posters on the walls of the captains quarters.
I also believe that if this was a major attack with the intent crippling the US we would have already had a follow up attack somewhere. And if it is a precursor to war, the internet would already be shut off.
If this was terrorism done by those who believe their god is so weak he needs the help of low IQ barbarians to get his way, we would have heard about it by now. Those guys can’t shut up when they pull something off.
The port will be back open within a week. They just need to have divers make sure the bridge is situated deep enough or if it isn’t, use floating cranes to clear a section. Rebuilding the bridge however will take a while.
The big lesson for me here is that I’ve been wrong about DEI. Some diversity among the all Indian crew could have absolutely helped out here. Some Japanese or European sailors might have kept that engine running.

You would think so, though clearing the mess up in the channel may take some in itself. I’m surprised the ship took the hit so well, and it isn’t at the bottom too.
The other problem though is the bridge supplied land transport to and from the port for various goods no other ways could, some have said.
