ADMIN QOTD
The reason I had few posts yesterday was that I found out late in the morning that my boss had been let go and would not be stepping into the office ever again. It was completely unexpected and disconcerting. All his direct reports gathered at a local watering hole to ponder what had happened.
I worked for him for about 8 years and had a tremendous amount of respect for him. We saw eye to eye on most subjects. He’s a good man and always had the organization’s best interests at heart. I always considered my main job to be making my boss look good by providing him with accurate, timely, useful information that would allow him to make good decisions or recommend the right course of action to his boss.
His predecessor was an absolute shrew. I worked for her for one year and despised her. If she hadn’t resigned, I would have.
I would rate my boss as the 2nd best I’ve had over my 30 year working career. My boss at IKEA for 13 years was the best. I only despised the shrew. I disliked working for one other boss, but I only worked for him for one year. Overall, I’ve had good/tolerable bosses for 25 out of 30 years as a professional.
I’m coming down the home stretch and praying I don’t get another asshole for the last seven or so years.

Pam Martens’ Warning to the Fed and the Clintons in 1998 – And She Warns Them Again Now
Guest Post by Jesse
It is the same players that we saw enabling reckless behaviour in 1998: Citigroup, the Fed, and the Clinton-led Wall Street Democrats.
And here we are again, almost eighteen years later, watching the same short term, selfish behaviour by the big money banks putting the entire economy of productive individuals at risk again.
“There’s something big and scary going on behind the scenes but, as usual, the public isn’t reading about it on the front pages of the newspapers…
Dodd-Frank was supposed to push the derivatives out of the commercial banks which hold the insured deposits to prevent another taxpayer bailout, the so-called “push out” rule. But in December of 2014, Citigroup was able to sneak legislation into the must-pass spending bill to keep the government running that overturned the push-out rule…
Using its insured bank’s balance sheet as ballast, Citigroup’s bank holding company now ranks as the largest holder of all derivatives in the U.S. According to the Comptroller of the Currency, the very bank that blew itself up in 2008 and received the largest taxpayer bailout in history, now holds $55 trillion in notional amount of derivatives.
But far more alarming is the type of derivatives Citigroup appears hell bent on gaining market share in trading. Last week we reported that Citigroup is plowing into credit default swaps, the very derivatives that blew up the big insurance company, AIG, in 2008 and forced a government bailout of AIG to the tune of $185 billion…
On March 8 of this year [2016], the Office of Financial Research, which was created under the Dodd-Frank legislation to monitor the buildup of systemic financial risks, released a study on Credit Default Swaps. Its findings were deeply troubling…”

WAL-MART FREAKS OF THE WEEK
Ozzy Osbourne is looking a lot worse these days….or maybe better? I’m not sure actually.
Why does everyone feel the need to send messages via their clothing? Anyone’s life ever change from some girl’s ass text?
Just taking a leisurely stroll down the aisle. Nothing out of the ordinary and then BOOM! Booty all up in my face!
Who Watches the Watchmen?
Guest Post by Eric Peters
It’s one thing to be told you must obey the law. But what being told to obey a cop who is acting contrary to the law?
This happens routinely – and (usually) without consequences.
For the cop, that is.
Here are a few examples:
In many states, it is still legal to “open carry” – that is, to openly carry a firearm on one’s hip (in a holster) or a rifle slung over one’s back… and so on. That is the law. Cops are supposed to know the law as well as enforce the law.
And, more to the point, to be bound by the law.
Not infrequently, they enforce their own law with regard to open carry.
Many videos of such interactions may be viewed on YouTube and so on. A citizen open-carrying his firearm and doing absolutely nothing contrary to the law finds himself confronted by a threatening/order-barking cop who has no legal authority to do this.

Cop who shot and killed librarian had been ousted by Miramar police
The Punta Gorda policeman who tragically shot and killed a retired librarian when he fired real bullets — instead of blanks — at her during a citizens academy is a former Miramar officer with a troubled record, forced to resign from his job at the end of his rookie year.
Three years before the shooting that led to the death of 73-year-old Mary Knowlton on Tuesday, Lee Coel was accused twice of using excessive force and relieved of his duties before investigators found he violated department policies and was allowed to resign.
This year, he was sued in Punta Gorda after he ordered his K-9 to attack a bicyclist who was stopped for riding without a light at night, inflicting severe injuries that required surgery.

What is your BEST cooking tip?
Mine is, take almost any type of leftovers, throw them in the frying pan, crack an egg on top, season egg, toss in pan until the egg is cooked. Or, fry the egg separately and place it on top of the leftovers. Both great!!
