Democratic Mayors Of New York, Chicago, Denver Plead For Help As Migrant Storm Worsens

The Democratic mayors of three sanctuary cities, Chicago, New York City, and Denver, warned their metro areas are quickly approaching a breaking point due to the ongoing surge of illegals bussed up from the southern border this year.

“We cannot allow buses with people needing our help to arrive without warning at any hour of day and night,” NYC Mayor Adams said during a virtual news conference with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston.

Adams warned: “For many months, we were able to keep the visualization of this crisis from hitting our streets, but we have reached a breaking point.”

“We are no longer able to do that because of the volume and numbers,” he added.

NYC Restaurateurs: Business Down 40-60% Due To Vaccine Mandate

New York City restaurateurs are complaining that their business has been slashed severely by the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, which requires people 12 and older to show vaccination proof for indoor dining, indoor fitness, and indoor entertainment.

Pre-pandemic, O’Donoghue’s Pub and Restaurant was a successful business that has been open for 10 years in Times Square, Manhattan. Fergal Burke, the owner of O’Donoghue’s noticed that his business has seen “a massive drop,” since the vaccine mandate came into effect.

“We don’t have the money here to survive without the help of our landlord, [who] has been very supportive and has been giving us breaks on the rent, but without our landlord, we would not be in business,” Burke told The Epoch Times. He said that he needed to hire another person to be at the door checking for vaccination proof, which increased his expenses.

On Aug. 3, 2021, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced “The Key to NYC” mandate which, beginning Aug. 17, requires patrons of indoor dining, indoor fitness, and indoor entertainment and performances to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.  This week one of the Black Lives Matters leaders, Hawk Newsome, organized protests against a New York City restaurant after 2 African American patrons were ejected for failing to show vaccine passports.  As of mid-August, only 28% of New York City African Americans were vaccinated.  With vaccine restrictions in effect, this disproportionately affects minorities and excludes them from numerous activities.  If the proposed FAA ban goes into effect, the majority will also be banned from air travel.
