LIBERTARIAN ISLAM

“I am in love with every church and mosque and temple and any kind of shrine, because I know it is there that people say the different names of the One God.”

A commonly used epithet to describe Islam is ‘The Religion of Peace,’ but this is inaccurate and confusing. The phrase became more commonly used after 9/11 by politicians. The Quran never describes the faith in these terms. It is more accurate to describe Islam as a religion of non-aggression and justice. The Non-aggression principle (NAP) is considered to be a defining principle of libertarianism. Many libertarians today like to bend, or flat out break this principle, however, a Muslim can be a Rothbardian libertarian, like Ron Paul, who manages to encompass economic and sociological theories while using the NAP as an axiom.

Iraqi forces discover stockpile of chemical warfare agent, missiles in Mosul

An Iraqi officer said that Iraqi forces recently discovered sulfur mustard, a chemical warfare agent, in eastern Mosul alongside a cache of surface-to-surface missiles bearing Russian inscriptions. Some of the rockets shown appeared to be training models. None of the rockets in the warehouse, many of which had been taken apart for parts, were operational. Fadhil said the types of rockets found lead him to suspect the Islamic State group was experimenting with the rockets to develop a way to weaponize the chemical agent.

Hollywood’s Screen of Lies

by Uncola via TheBurningPlatform.com

On Sunday, January 8, 2016, while waiting for the 10PM local news, I surfed through some channels and landed on NBC as the actress Meryl Streep was speaking.  It was during the Golden Globes and I caught the tail end of her speech after she won the Cecil B. DeMille Award.  This once-in-a-lifetime award is an honor conferred by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment”.

As Streep was speaking, she appeared to have had the entire room entranced, even moving some of the Hollywood stars in the audience to tears.  As the cameras panned over the brigade of befuddled, bespectacled, bearded and bare-legged clowns, you could see them overcome by raw emotion before Streep’s heartfelt words.  Paradoxically, her delivery was not meant to be comedic.  As I watched the scene unfold in complete disbelief, I thought to myself:  “This isn’t a parody.  It is real. It isn’t an act.  It is actually happening”.

Referring to President Elect Donald Trump, Streep said:

Worse than ISIS & nuclear bomb?

French president Francois Hollande has arrived in the Iraqi capital Baghdad to meet French troops helping government forces battle Islamic State. And it came just days after the resumption of a large-scale offensive on Mosul, which remains a key ISIS stronghold. However, experts fear the military operation could lead to a problem even bigger than Islamic State itself.

Persuasion and ISIS

Guest Post by Scott Adams

Experts say ISIS can’t be beaten by military means alone. You have to get to the “deep” causes. Here are two experts saying just that, including a former head of the CIA. The problem is that observers seem to have different ideas of what is at the root of it all.

According to the article, many people believe the underlying problem is “chaos, poor governance, and poverty.” But that framing does a poor job of explaining why – as the article claims – Arab countries are 5% of the population of the world but produce 50% of the terror acts. Why are the other places with the same poor conditions NOT becoming terrorists at the same rate?

Former CIA director Hayden says the fight has to be on “ideological” grounds, the way communism was eventually defeated. He refers to that as the “deep fight” and points out that Westerners have no credibility in the ideological framing of either Islamic beliefs or terrorist beliefs. We can’t influence them from the inside where it matters because we’re not on the inside.

If the Mainstream Media Were Patriots

by Uncola for TheBurningPlatform.com

Lately we’ve heard a lot regarding the evil Russian’s hacking of the 2016 presidential election and their sponsorship of fake news websites.  Evidently them nasty Russians have unfairly denied the innocent and victimized Hillary Clinton her right to become America’s first woman president.  This, after the poor woman went to all that trouble hitting the reset button with Russia just a few years ago.  Them ungrateful Rusky bastards!

Not surprisingly, the Neocon Democratic Party Warmongers are now attempting to nullify the results of this year’s election while simultaneously striving to resurrect a new cold war abroad and a civil war right here in the United States. These sore losers are not messing around.

Julian Assange Says Trump Won’t Be Allowed To Win, “Clinton And ISIS Are Funded By The Same Money”

Tyler Durden's picture

One day after Julian Assange officially revealed for the first time that the source of hacked Podesta and DNC emails in Wikileaks’ possession is not Russia, in the second excerpt from the John Pilger Special, to be broadcast by RT on Saturday Julian Assange accuses Hillary Clinton of misleading Americans about the true scope of Islamic State’s support from Washington’s Middle East allies.

As previously reported, in an August 17, 2014 email made public WikiLeaks last month, Hillary Clinton, who had served as secretary of state until the year before, urges John Podesta, then an advisor to Barack Obama, to “bring pressure” on Qatar and Saudi Arabia, “which are providing clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIS and other radical Sunni groups.”

Hillary Confirms Saudi Arabia, Qatar Fund ISIS In Leaked Email

Tyler Durden's picture

Over three years after we first reported that one of the two chief sources of funding and support for the “Islamic State” is the small but wealthy nation of Qatar, and long after we also announced that Saudi Arabia had revealed that it was behind ISIS, in a report that was widely disputed, overnight we finally got definitive evidence that it was indeed Qatar and Saudi Arabia that are the main “logistical and financial” supporters of the Islamic State terrorist organization.

In a leaked email sent on August 17, 2014 by Hillary Clinton to her current campaign manager, John Podesta, who back then was counselor to Barack Obama, she admitted that Qatar and Saudi Arabia “are providing clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIL and other radical Sunni groups in the region.

ISIS, Not Russia, Is the Enemy in Syria

Guest Post by Patrick J. Buchanan

ISIS, Not Russia, Is the Enemy in Syria

Denouncing Russian air strikes on Aleppo as “barbaric,” Mike Pence declared in Tuesday’s debate:

“The provocations by Russia need to be met with American strength. … The United States of America should be prepared to use military force, to strike military targets of Bashar Assad regime.”

John McCain went further:

“The U.S. … must issue an ultimatum to Mr. Assad — stop flying or lose your aircraft … If Russia continues its indiscriminate bombing, we should make clear that we will take steps to hold its aircraft at greater risk.”

Yet one gets the impression this is bluster and bluff.

Pence has walked his warnings back. And there are few echoes of McCain’s hawkishness. Even Hillary Clinton’s call for a “no-fly zone” has been muted.

The American people have no stomach for a new war in Syria.

He Who Hesitates Is Lost And Russia Hesitated

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

The Russian government deceived itself with its fantasy belief that Russia and Washington had a common cause in fighting ISIS. The Russian government even went along with the pretense that the various ISIS groups operating under various pen names were “moderate rebels” who could be separated from the extremists, all the while agreeing to cease fighting on successive verges of victory so that Washington could resupply ISIS and prepare to introduce US and NATO forces into the conflict. The Russian government apparently also thought that as a result of the coup against Erdogan, which was said to implicate Washington, Turkey was going to cease supporting ISIS and cooperate with Russia.

Alas, the Russians so fervently, or perhaps I should say feverishly, desired an agreement with Washington that they deceived themselves. If Finian Cunningham’s report is correct, Washington has taken advantage of Russia’s urging that Washington and Turkey join in the attack on ISIS by invading northern Syria under the guise of “fighting ISIS.”

Islamic State by Far the Most Active Violent Group in 2015

Hmm. If only there was a common thread that tied all these terrorist groups together. We all know Islam is the religion of peace, so it can’t be that.

Days Before 9/11 DHS Sec. Tells Radical Muslim Group Islam is Religion of Peace, ISIS Isn’t Islamic

Days before the anniversary of the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history Obama’s Homeland Security secretary became the highest ranking government official—and first sitting cabinet member—to highlight a convention held annually by a radical Muslim group with extremist origins. The Indiana-based nonprofit is called Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and it was founded by members of the Muslim Brotherhood, the parent organization of Hamas and Al Qaeda. ISNA was a co-conspirator in a huge case involving an Islamic charity (Holy Land Foundation) that provided support to a foreign terrorist organization, mainly Hamas.

FEEL GOOD STORY OF THE DAY

With all the sorrow around here today over the slow motion demise of Hitlary “Roadham Cankles” Klinton, I figured ya’ll need a feel good story to warm your hearts and chase away the blues. What’s not to love about an ISIS executioner being executed in front of his next twelve victims?

“Sniper takes out ISIS executioner from a mile away.”

Via Foxnews:

A sharpshooter killed a top ISIS executioner and three other jihadists with a single bullet from nearly a mile away — just seconds before the fiend was set to burn 12 hostages alive with a flamethrower, according to a new report.

The British Special Air Service marksman turned one of the most hated terrorists in Syria into a fireball by using a Barett .50-caliber rifle to strike a fuel tank affixed to the jihadi’s back, the UK’s Daily Star reported Sunday.

The pack exploded, killing the sadistic terrorist and three of his flunkies, who were supposed to film the execution, last month, the paper said.

The ISIS butcher — who reportedly delighted in burning hostages alive — had been on a US “kill list” for several months, sources told the paper, which did not identify the sniper or the executioner.

Syria: Their War, Not Ours

Guest Post by Patrick J. Buchanan

The debacle that is U.S. Syria policy is today on naked display.

NATO ally Turkey and U.S.-backed Arab rebels this weekend attacked our most effective allies against ISIS, the Syrian Kurds.

Earlier in August, U.S. planes threatened to shoot down Syrian planes over Hasakeh, and our Iraq-Syria war commander, Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend, issued a warning to Syria and Russia against any further air strikes around the city.

Who authorized Gen. Townsend to threaten to shoot down Syrian or Russian planes — in Syria?

When did Congress authorize an American war in Syria? Is the Constitution now inoperative?

That we are sinking into a civil war where we sometimes seem to be fighting both sides is a tribute to the fecklessness of the Barack Obama-John Kerry foreign policy and the abdication of a Congress that refuses to either name our real enemy or authorize our deepening involvement.

Our Congress appears again to have abdicated its war powers.
