In 1976, some of the families sharing older ancestral lineages in my hometown were asked to march together in our bicentennial parade. Although I was at an age where I found it somewhat embarrassing, I did enjoy waving at my friends and schoolmates along the way. Especially the girls.

Although the Saccharine Seventies manifested as a tarnishing patina on the silver platter of Norman Rockwell’s America, much of the shine still remained then in my hometown; even in the years before Ronald Reagan’s repolishing as the table was set again for his 1984 “Morning in America” commercial.

Lately we’ve heard a lot regarding the evil Russian’s hacking of the 2016 presidential election and their sponsorship of fake news websites. Evidently them nasty Russians have unfairly denied the innocent and victimized Hillary Clinton her right to become America’s first woman president. This, after the poor woman went to all that trouble hitting the reset button with Russia just a few years ago. Them ungrateful Rusky bastards!

Not surprisingly, the Neocon Democratic Party Warmongers are now attempting to nullify the results of this year’s election while simultaneously striving to resurrect a new cold war abroad and a civil war right here in the United States. These sore losers are not messing around.

Controlled Burn: Smoke, No Fire

On December 5^th, 2016, a brave and noble Texas paramedic by the name of Christopher Suprun, wrote his opinion in the New York Times and single-handedly declared Donald Trump to be a domestic enemy of the United States. As one of the 538 members of the Electoral College, Suprun made his stand against the will of 62,759,366 misguided Trump voters and 65,383,628 ill-advised Hillary Clinton supporters in favor of Governor John Kasich of Ohio, or someone like him.

With a few strokes of his keyboard, this lone Texan expressed his willingness to repudiate the 2016 Republican Primaries whereby Kasich, and others like him, lost; and, at the same time, challenged the entire presidential election in a way only Henry Fonda, as Juror 8, could appreciate.

Is This The Democrats’ Real Strategy In Launching Recounts?

Over the past couple of days we’ve written numerous times about Jill Stein’s recount efforts in WI, MI and PA (see here, here and here). And while it’s clear that Stein intends to move forward with recounts in all three states (she’s now up to $6.1mm in donations), what is unclear, and quite perplexing, is exactly why she’s pursuing these recounts in the first place. Here are the potential justifications from Stein’s perspective, as we see them:

Personal self-interest? – Obviously, No. With less than 1% of the vote in WI, MI and PA, Stein obviously has no shot of winning any of the states in question.
Hopes of recount tipping states to Hillary? – No. Multiple experts and even Hillary campaign insiders have admitted that overturning election results with a margin of victory of several 1,000 votes is extremely unlikely. To win, Hillary would have to flip WI, MI and PA even though she trails by ~20k, ~12k and ~70k votes in each of those states, respectively…not going to happen.
Exposing voting machine hacking? – No. Even the Obama administration has confirmed the the election was “free and fair from a cybersecurity perspective” and that votes “accurately reflect the will of the American people.” By failing to present even a shred of evidence of vote tampering in her WI recount petition, instead choosing to focus on wild conspiracy theories, Stein effectively also admits that there was no “hacking” of voting machines.
Fundraising scam to get millions in donations from disaffected Hillary voters? – Maybe. As of right now, Stein has raised ~$6mm of the $7mm she says she needs to fund recount efforts. Assuming Stein goes through with recounts in all three states and her cost estimates are reasonably accurate then she won’t really have that much money left over to be added to the general Green Party coffers.
