Congestion Taxes Coming to NYC

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) believes that taxation could decrease traffic congestion in New York. Vehicles will be charged an additional $15 daily to enter Manhattan from 60th Street or below, while trucks will face a fine between $24 and $36. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul strongly backs the measure as she believes it will help to clean up New York.

New York’s Hunger Games Governor Is Now “Collecting Data” From “Surveillance Efforts” On Social Media To Monitor “Hate Speech”

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) announced threw off some serious Hunger Games vibes Monday, announcing that the state of New York has been ‘collecting data’ from social media platforms in order to combat “hate speech” following an alleged rise in antisemitic attacks.

The announcement came after Hochul met with the state’s Jewish leaders, local law enforcement and federal authorities.

“It’s painful to me as the governor of this great state — that has been known for its diversity, and how we celebrate different cultures, different religions, different viewpoints — it’s painful to see the cruelty with which New Yorkers are treating each other,” she said, not letting a crisis go to waste.

NY Governor to require 3 years of social media history for gun carry permit

New York Governor Kathy Hochul once again signed sweeping gun legislation into law on Friday that created several severe new restrictions on obtaining a gun in the state, including drastically increasing concealed carry regulations and requiring applicants to turn over social media history.

According to the the legislation, part of Hochul’s new criteria to obtain a concealed carry permit will be an applicant giving the government a list containing three years of history of their current and inactive social media accounts. Applicants must also have 16 hours of firearm training, provide four character references, and list the contact information for any domestic partners or adults of any kind they live with.
